hunched black anthropromorphic creatures with red eys, like some sort of demon,ran through the door of the room.

"get away luna!!" My mother shouted. her expression changed from fear to determination and panic. "as fast as you can!"                                                                                                                                                                                                "what about you?   I replied                                                                                                                                                                                       "i can handle them" she replied "you can't. now do as i say, get away as fast as you can"A jet of rainbow coloured light like the sun on a puddle of oil burst out of a necklace around her neck and hit one of the creatures in the face. I held the amulet carefully,and i ran past my mother , through the door, then  ran to the nearest place I could think of, the garden, until I got to the gardeners hut. I banged on the door. the gardener's son, tim opened the door.

"Quick, I need to escape, i need a horse, or anything that'll help me," 

He looked at me, and then made a motion for me to follow him. He unlocked the stable door and we went in. He opened the door to one of the stables and a white horse came out

"Here , this is Lightning" He whispered "I'll give you some time to escape. if they're bandits, I have my knife and my slingshot, miss"

"But they aren't ! They're monsters! Go tell your family to leave or you'll all get killed!"

"Okay, and one last thing, Your mother asked me to give this to you." he rummaged in his pocket and handed me a small envelope.   "goodbye"

"goodbye" i replied and hurriedly stuffed the letter in my pocket. he helped me onto the horse and handed me a lantern 

I had almost no practice with horses, and this one didn't seem the easiest to control. i awkwardly stuck my leg in the stirrup , pulled on the sadddle and managed to get on it. i turned the horse around and squeezed it, and it began to  trot. i kicked it again and it went faster, so i had to hold on tight in order not to fall off.  i did't look back, scared about what I would see.
