Hopian 178 - About Time
Last chapter, after Quilline got Elio killed by Ufisator due to her considering him incompetent- Metallic had no choice but to use his Emperor form.
He then obliterated the Ufisator within seconds, and he immediately tried to kill Ontarus next who had just entered the room.
Ontarus was able to dodge however, and Prósopsi and Aora entered the room right after that- in which Metallic and Prósopsi fell through a teleporter that the Head Commander threw down onto the flooded floors.
That left the four crew members left in the celebration room against Aora and Ontarus, but Aora and Seric were taken out of action quite quickly due to a semi-successful combination attack the criminal crew tried to pull off.
And now, Ontarus waits for Fondrayan to back him up- so that he can help him take down Quilline, the one person keeping the crew out of the way of Ontarus' attacks...
Commander Ontarus' P.O.V.
"Two min until he gets here, so 120 seconds- wait huh?" I think to myself after seeing Karia suddenly collapse onto her back. I think she mouthed something too but I couldn't hear her-
"Ohhhh fuck. Gotta be her Spirit of Sariel." I realize after a blue, see-through, ghost-version of Karia is standing in front of her collapsed body now. Her ghost-self has her eyes shut, while holding a massive-ass blade with no handle too... my sword's cooler, though.
But before I can even swing Bahari at her real "dead" body- ghost-Karia emotionlessly slides through the air at a batshit insane pace, and then starts flying through me over and over again- with her blade cutting through me each time she passes by.
"That all you got?! Aren't you the one who killed Kodan?!" I taunt the bitch after not feeling her blade at all, and just continue to glide on my waves- creating blades of water that destroy the grenades that Quilline and Amandeath are firing at me now at the same time.
"Whoa..." I think to myself as my head starts to spin, with the dizziness letting one of Amandeath's bullets just barely pierce through my armored shoulder...
"The reports were right about Sariel's blessing literally draining the energy from your soul. Ugh- I need to dodge Karia's attacks more, or I'm gonna pass out." I think to myself while the ghost-girl continues to slice through me, shit- she's too damn fast!
"Think! I obviously can't hurt her spirit here, so I can only take out her real physical body. But shit, Quilline's teleporting it all around the room! Come on, there has to be some way to stall her out. Maybe if I somehow flipped her real body so that it's face-down in the water- oh!"
I grin after seeing at least 20 heavy duty soldier-bots march through the open door to the celebration room. The water does nothing to their legs as they start firing their guns-for-arms at the trio- YEAH! All according to plan.
"Girlies, focus on stunning Ontarus- I'll get the bots while keeping you teleported." Quilline groans, leaping around to avoid most of my blades of water- and even casually tanking the soldier-bots' bullets too, as she digs a giant rifle out of her tiny pouch that's attached to her hip.
"Piss off!" I shout as ghost-Karia's STILL managing to slice through me over and over again- even though I'm more focused on her now...
Damn it, my vision's starting to blur too! I can't even tell where I need to dodge anymore. My soul's gonna have all of its energy stolen at this rate...
And that weakness lets another bullet hit my shoulder, and it digs right through the hole in my armor that the first one made. GREAT, and-
"AGHHHH!" My whole body starts to convulse- I can't- shit- that was a paralyzing bullet! I can't- I can barely move! The hole must have been big enough to leave a damn opening to my bare skin-
"Spirit of Sariel: Rend that is Divine." I hear, and with my vision clearing up for a second I see Karia's ghost form standing in front of me and raising her blade. It's glowing now... almost like she's charging an attack-
*BOOM!*
And I'm proven right when she swings the blade down while I'm still paralyzed, causing a giant explosion of light to hit me- and to send my ass flying across the flooded room!
"Augggh..." I groan after I slam into the back-wall of the room... every part of me is aching now. Shit- if I didn't have any armor on, that could have killed me... least I'm not paralyzed anymore but, damn man...
No time to complain though, so I slowly force myself back up onto my feet- with Bahari's waves helping me stand up automatically now. The waves are also forcibly pushin' me away from some of ghost-Karia's attacks- and slicing any of Amandeath's bullets out of the air too which is pretty sweet.
"Guess I'm injured enough for you to help me out on your own, huh Bahari? Let's end this." I think to myself- as all of the water in the room is moving on its own now, with a bunch of sharp "tentacles" reaching up and trying to cut at anyone's legs before they get teleported away.
Quilline in particular is getting her legs sliced up a ton though as she's finishing up the last few standing bots with her shotgun, but damn- even then the slices of water only make her legs bleed a tiny bit...
Though I hold back a smile as my earpiece buzzes again, and Taylis starts to talk, "Fondrayan's entering the celebration room. You should be able to see an outline of him through the thermal-tech in your gas-mask's visors, though he'll be invisible to everyone else in the room. Good luck. ...And make sure Quilline dies, please."
"Never thought I'd imagine her asking for someone to be killed." I think to myself as I can see a glowing red blob run through the entrance to the room. That must be the invisible Fondrayan himself... sure hope Quilline's visor doesn't have any tech that'll let her see him too.
But it doesn't seem like it so far, and so I use my last remaining strength to slowly swing Bahari around a couple times, sending perfectly-aimed, stupid-fast, slices of water at the crew who are being teleported around- just to keep them distracted and to make sure they don't accidentally hit Fondrayan.
"Crap!" I think to myself after seeing Fondrayan stumble, as the water near him automatically reaches up and slices his leg. That wasn't because of me or my manual attacks, that was Bahari acting on its own!
"Damn it Bahari, he's a friend- target anyone else if you want to protect me!" I think to myself with a gulp- but thankfully Fondrayan stands back up, and makes a slowed run for Quilline who just finished off the last bot. Sure hope that the cut in his suit, and the blood coming out of it, doesn't let anyone see him...
"Nice warm-up~ but now it's time to finish you off, ocean man." Quilline cluelessly says as she leaps away RIGHT before Fondrayan was about to grab her- damn!
"Wait- I can send her towards him!" I think to myself as I swing my sword to the left of where Quilline lands, sending a sharp slice of water headin' her way. And doing that makes her leap right back to where she was standing before-
And right into the invisible Fondrayan's arms.
Without a second of hesitation he covers the screaming Quilline's eyes with one hand, her lower torso and arms with the other hand, and wraps his legs around hers. Then Fondrayan uses his blessing to turn his entire body into hardened rock, which attaches him to the tiled floor below. And of course that leaves the wretch blind- and helpless too as her arms and legs are all trapped in Fondrayan's grapple.
"A little help here?!" Quilline cries out as she squirms like a dying animal, she's even trying to jump out of the grapple too- which only manages to tear the sleeves of her hoodie.
"Right, go for the eyes- and Fondrayan said he doesn't mind potentially dying in the crossfire either, since the stakes are so high." I think to myself, after noticing that the hand covering Quilline's eyes is the only part of him that's not turned to stone. So Bahari will destroy both his hand and her eyes at the same time real nicely-
"HELLO?!?!?!" Quilline screams again as Karia and Amandeath scramble to take out Fondrayan- but Amandeath's weapons, and Karia's ghost attacks, do nothing at all to the stone giant except for causing a few cracks in his body.
"Good, he ain't going anywhere..."
And so my tired-ass self finally raises my sword up, holding it there to charge up my next attack...
After three seconds I swing it horizontally, sending a extra quick slice of water straight at Quilline's eyes- which instantly turns Fondrayan's hand into mush- and blows up the visor protecting Quilline's nasty face too.
"Hurting me... really fucked you over in the end... dumbass. Should've studied how Bahari works."
Quilline's satisfying howls of pain help keep me awake and focused. So I send out two more razor-sharp slices of water at her screaming face since she's still trapped. And thankfully- blood spews from her eyes after the third slice of water hits her.
"About damn time." I think to myself with a smirk, this continent will be a much better place with that monster never being able to teleport anyone ever again.
With that done- I take a deep breath. And with my consciousness fading in and out- I just barely see Karia who's back in her real body while carrying Seric, and Amandeath, running like hell towards the drone-covered portal to Dalkan now.
I grit my teeth and swing my sword in Amandeath's direction, which causes a real fast slice of water to cut through both of her legs like butter. She faceplants onto the flooded floor right after that, with Bahari automatically starting to slice her up for me...
But... I'm still losing energy... no... Bahari is keeping me standing... what was I doing again...? Right, Karia and Seric....
"One last hit. Come on." I think to myself... with my sight being completely gone now. But I force myself to sloppily swing Bahari in the general area that I remember Seric and Karia were in... I really hope that hits... but if not...
"You'll have to finish them off, Prósopsi. I know you'll kill that bot ASAP and... come back to finish them..." I think to myself as I start to fall back, and.........-
A/N: Apologies for the shorter chapter- the next chapters will be back to the regular size.
