Last chapter, Quilline, Amandeath, and Elio headed out to gather supplies for their upcoming mission and trip to Dalkan- as well as to quickly visit Elio's old home so that he could give his brother one last goodbye.

But their walk got interrupted by them stumbling into Amandeath's father Endeath, her mother Zerendeath, and younger brother Urdeath- who were seemingly given Amandeath's general location by Quilline's old aquantaince Prisila.

But after Quilline refused to give up Amandeath, negotiations fell through and a fight the two groups began. It started with Endeath and Zerendeath somehow covering the entire area in purple smoke, and they also somehow launched Quilline into a building's wall across the street...

Quilline's P.O.V.

"Quilline- help!" Amandeath shouts after a gunshot rings through the air which brings my confused self back to reality, and at the same time I notice that same irritating thin-as-string slice of energy attack is heading straight for my neck from above! And so I pull myself out of the wall my body left a dent in and bend down-

"Shit!" I cry out in pain as the attack still cuts through my scalp and gives me an unpleasant haircut, but nonetheless with slightly teary eyes I launch myself towards Amandeath's voice ahead of me with the help of my booster shoes.

"Hm?" I think to myself as suddenly the thick purple smoke all around us disappears in the middle of my stride. But oh dear more importantly I can see Endeath grabbing Amandeath's head- I teleport her right in front of me just before the man shifts his arms super quick, seems like he was about to give her neck a good little snap.

"Need to keep her alive, otherwise these cowards will just run away and ruin my chance to take their heads." I note to myself speedily- then ask Amandeath,

"Where's Elio?!" after I land next to her as I still can't see the boy anywhere- but ummm no sound comes out of my mouth. Maybe my hearing's screwed- that's no good.

Anyways I jump back again while teleporting A-man, and yank my pre-loaded submachine gun from my belt- then start firing it at Endeath as he's the only member of the trio I can see around us.

"Don't teleport, not until I know how he hit me like that before- dangerous stuff." I think to myself as the man runs for cover in between the two semi-new buildings that seem abandoned to his left- but it does seem like his suit is bullet proof regardless since my shots aren't even phasing him, this'll be tricky... not like I'd want these three to be pushovers though.

I try to talk again to test my hearing after teleporting Amandeath next to me but, no luck... OH but I do see that little energy-sniper brat. He just walked into view from on top of the roof of that same metal building ahead of us. I dig into my pouch for a long range weapon but, can't forget my pawns have some use too- Amandeath's already aiming her gun up at him it seems.

"Bang!" I imagine the sound effect as Amandeath fires at him, which seems to hit his protected head but it clearly isn't a killing blow as he just stumbles back out of view- his weird mask must've taken the hit. Darn.

"No, I can't jump up and teleport him yet- would leave Amandeath exposed. Unless I carried her with me..." I think to myself as I use my 360 degree vision to scan the area around us for anyone but- wow everyone's a coward behind cover it seems aside from me and Amandeath. Did the others run away I wonde-

"Hm?!" My heart rate quickens as suddenly my legs give out and I lose my balance- obviously I try and move my hands in front of my face but- even that doesn't work and I faceplant onto the ground, they're completely numb! My whole body is! And even worse my eyesight is blocked off by the pavement my face just ate, meaning my 360 degree vision is a no-go- and thus no teleportation... starting to regret this now.

I hear Amandeath faceplant a moment after me, and she announces, "Quilline, this is probably my mom's Blessing! Sight, hearing, touch- it looks she gets rid of one of our senses at a time. But considering I'd have died if that smoke didn't go away before, each one of her sense removals have to have a time limi- oh fuck. Quilline, why aren't you teleporting him? ...Ohhhhhhh fuck, you can't see can you? Elio- if you're there, HELP US." Amandeath's deduction gets interrupted by Endeath returning I assume.

"Shit, he's charging up or something- his skin is glowing red and he stopped moving- never mind he's moving now. ELIO!" My heart starts to thump in my chest as I desperately try to adjust my head, no luck- damn it all!

"Dad, don't do thi- OH." Amandeath shouts which confuses me, but a second later I hear a loud BOOM a bit ahead of us and my body gets flipped onto my back by the force of the explosion- AHAHAHA, I knew giving Elio that grenade launcher would come in handy!

With my face facing up now I can see everything around me again, including Endeath who I teleport a very safe distance away from us and 'spin' him around in a circle by teleporting him in different directions nonstop.

He should be out of commission for now, and so I focus on Elio who I can also see now, our expert tinman bomb-launcher seems to have climbed up to the roof of a three- no four story building and shot from there. No clue how, maybe he found a ladder or used his Blessing to unlock the front door- but regardless seeing that he's OK is a massive relief to say the least.

On that note he fires another grenade at Endeath, HA yes it's guaranteed hit since I can keep the man in place-

...Or not, the purple smoke appears again and puts Endeath out of my sight. I slam my fist into the ground as I hear the bomb Elio launched explode. Oh well, maybe it still hit- and at least I can move my fist now. Ah yes I can feel my whole body again actually, and so I slowly stand up due to my body still being a bit wobbly after the explosion from before.

"We need cover." I command after punching myself in the face to snap back into reality, and start running to my right as I teleport Amandeath along with me- think we can run into an alleyway near there for cover... or I thought there was an alleyway there at least. Only seeing a wall and tall floor level window in front of me right now though... oh wait, silly me.

I throw a few punches at the window, and it shatters- letting me and Amandeath run inside, pass by and bump into some shelves, and finally hide behind one near the back the store. Thankfully it seems like no one's here, guess our last escapade spooked people into hiding or moving to safer areas.

Anywho, time for planning, "Amandeath- right when the smoke drops, we're running back out and I'm gonna pick you up and- damn!" I curse in a whisper as I can just barely hear footsteps entering the store...

"A few more seconds... just a few more..." I think to myself as the footsteps are getting closer-

*BOOM!*

Just as Endeath enters my sight- both me and Amandeath somehow get launched across the store, crashing through multiple shelves until we break through the flimsy drywall that's behind the counter... ugh...

The smoke disappears just as we stop moving but, everything feels hazy... my eyes open wide though as I can see a bright red light starting to glow from behind one of the few remaining shelves that are across the store from us.

"Oh HELL NO, I'm not going through his attack a third time. Seems like the longer he glows, the more damage he does with his "explosion" or whatever it is." I think to myself as I force my body to lean up off of the ground. I then pull off one of grenades I hooked onto my belt beforehand, pull the pin- and chuck it weakly towards the shelve Endeath's hiding behind- owowow yeah that arm's sore

"Wait- Amandeath!" I think to myself after forgetting the girl isn't as grenade resistant as I am at this range, and so I flop my body over her to act as cover-

The bomb goes off silently as I struggle to stay in place as pesky shrapnel digs through my clothes and into my skin, but thankfully I'm relatively OK besides that. As the dust from the explosion clears I can see that Endeath's gone now, sweet- I look down at Amandeath and- great... she's unconscious.

"Must've been knocked out ever since Endeath's attack. Still breathing though so, I'll trust that her cybernetics kept most of her important parts safe. Ish." I think to myself with an inaudible sigh, then start to sorely stand up- and finally pick the sleeping girl up with my good arm and plop her over my shoulder.

I then jump past the mess of the debris leftover from our little battle in this store, and finally get outside again- Elio's gone again, but I'll trust that he's hiding. Endeath's gone too, but thankfully I can see that Urdeath boy standing on his "sniper tower" again- guess he's back in commission after Amandeath shot him in the face.

I grin, bend down a whole bunch to signal my boots to get ready for a jump- and launch myself into the air just as his boy swings his arm down and sends an admittedly speedy string-like energy blast right at where I'm standing.

I spring back up again just before it hits me though, which sends me flying up into the air, even higher than the roof the boy is standing on actually- and so I just stare at him from above with a smile as me and my carry-on Amandeath start to fall down again to his altitude.

He's trying to run behind a vent on the roof but, too slow- I reach his altitude just before he can run behind it out of my sight, and teleport him right in front of me mid-air, then finally swing my unoccupied bad arm out to grip his throat- or what I think is his throat that's underneath his dark heavy suit.

As expected my hearing returns and in turn my arm goes numb, but my grip should still hold strong since my hand is mostly mechanical at this point and locks in place quite nicely! Plus I should be landing on my feet anyways regardless of it I can move or not so fall damage isn't an issue.

We finally land, which doesn't hurt me but it does make me droop back a bit and fall to my butt- as well as causes Amandeath to slide off of my shoulder and onto the ground. I start teleporting her unconscious self all around the road close by me just to make sure that no one can blow her brains out while I can't move, so she should be safe.

And even better, my hand's still choking Urdeath as he's leaning forward while trying to keep himself standing up-right, and of course he's also desperately trying to rip my hand off of his throat- should only be a few more seconds until he blacks out~

"Aw." I pout as I can see Endeath run out from an alleyway behind us, which forces me to teleport Urdeath behind me to use him as a meat shield. Having no one to hold onto makes me fall all the way backwards though, and for the back of my head to slam into the pavement beneath us- ow!

"Fucking- bitch! You're so dead!" Urdeath tries to catch his breath, but I don't make his recovery easy as I spin him around just for funsies with constant teleports which makes him start to stumble a bit.

"Urdeath- do NOT engage!" Endeath commands as the purple smoke fills the area again, and I don't waste any time to immediately stand back up again with adrenaline pumping through my veins. With both Urdeath and Amandeath still close enough to see through the smoke, I keep on teleporting them nearby me and start digging through my pouch for a shotgun- Urdeath in particular is trying to run but I'm just teleporting him back right in front of me and forcing him to look at my face.

"Cut My Cookies!" The boy suddenly shouts and wiggles his finger around, which makes me laugh out loud due to how random that was- until I start to see a blue light form around his finger and also my arm- shit I got cocky!

I teleport him in front of me and choke him with my free bad arm to hopefully prevent him from calling out the rest of his ability, but it seems too late, my arm is glowing blue and-

"AHHH!!" I scream out in pain as the arm I was choking him with suddenly gets cut off and falls to the ground, no blood due to it being mainly made of metal but still- OWIE!!!!!

"Cut m-" He tries to say again as he backs up, but I grit my teeth and spin him around through a teleport to make sure he can't see and aim at me. Then I finally pull out the shotgun I was digging for from my pouch and aim it at his head, all with just one hand.

*BANG!*

I get shot in the back of the head by someone which knocks my head forward and blurs my vision for a sec, but it doesn't do much aside from that and so I look back up and teleport Urdeath right in front of the barrel of my gun and pull the trigger.

"Bang!"

"NO!" I hear the mother Zerendeath scream ever so nicely, just as Urdeath's mask gets blown apart by the shot and he gets knocked back a few feet onto the ground. Zerendeath shoots the side of my head again from wherever she's hiding in the smoke, but it doesn't do much since she doesn't hit my eyes- and it's not like she can hit Amandeath either due to me teleporting her around constantly.

"Seems like Endeath isn't coming after me since his attacks are explosions and would hurt Urdeath in the process since he's so close by, especially now that his face is more exposed- perfect!" I think to myself with my confidence restored as I start walking towards the boy's body with a stride.

"M-mom, dad- help- PLEASE!" The boy pleads with a slur as I start walking towards him, he's still alive due to that mask taking most of the hit but- he's sure bloody nonetheless. Now it's just time to finish the job~
