Last chapter, after Aeko does one last charge, Karia manages to land her new technique, "Spirit of Kodan: K.O" which allows her defeat Aeko by launching him out of the window at the back of the room. His fate, at destiny's hands.

Seric's P.O.V.

"AGH!" I hear from the left of me, and Karia collapses.

"That was enough I suppose. Honestly that girl is so reckless." I hear from behind me.

"Dahai, you're alright!" I say in relief as he weakly starts to stand up.

"Yes, that was pretty pathetic of me to get beaten that easily. Although I'm glad that I was able to let Karia defeat him though." Dahai responds.

"We have to be quick, now Karia has her injuries from before, plus her new ones she just received. If she doesn't get medical attention soon this could be bad." He says in a more serious tone.

I nod, but then panic realizing that Aeko had the button to unlock the door.

Luckily though, the door opens.

I guess the button must of malfunctioned.

"Seric, help me out here!" Dahai says, snapping me back into reality as he's trying to lift up Karia.

Walking over both start to lift her, carrying Karia like we're moving a table.

"Ok, easy, easy..." I say as I look behind me, manuevering through the now open door as I'm holding her head, Dahai holding her feet.

Everything is going well as we walk down the curving stairs, but of course I have to lose my footing and trip.

"Seric damn it!" Dahai yells as me tripping causes him to lose his grip on Karia as well.

THUMP THUMP THUMP

Is all I hear, as an unconscious Karia rolls down the stairs.

With one last thump, Karia ends up at the bottom of the stairwell.

I run down, and go to examine Karia who luckily seems alright except for a bloody nose.

"A baboon is more useful than you!" Dahai scolds as he slaps the back of my head.

"Shit sorry! She's uh, she's fine!" I yell worryingly.

We proceed to carry her through the first room with the destroyed laser weapon, which was invisible until we entered.

"𝘚𝘰 𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘈𝘦𝘬𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯..." I think sadly to myself, since that could mean that Aeko is literally burning alive right now. Shaking my head, I'm trying to force myself to believe that there was a platform outside that he landed on instead.

"Unless... What if Blessing's stay active even when someone dies?" I continue to think to myself, which is only doing more harm.

Finally we reach the front door, and walk through.

"Did you guys beat him?!" Is the first thing I hear as we go outside, feeling the immense heat once again, and getting used to the smokey sky above that's partially visible through the opening of the Volcano.

Looking over at the voices source, the two men Karia talked to before are standing in anticipation by the destroyed robots from before.

"Yeah..."
I respond, still in shock of what we just did, and not proud of it either.

"Hell yeah! Thank you guys so much!" They both say as they bow down to us.

"Aeko ruined this Sector, now we can finally live happily again! We've got to tell everyone, wait right here!" One says as they both run off in different directions.

I slightly smile, glad that beating Aeko at least helped these people. My conscience wouldn't let me feel good though.

"Seric, come on." Dahai whispers to me, snapping me back to reality once again.

"Huh? But didn't they say to wait?" I ask, giving Dahai a weird face.

"Aeko has been bribing the Hopian Army here for years to leave him alone, the fact that we beat him is going to bring us huge attention." He replies with his thick accent.

"O-oh... Right." I reply, somewhat disappointed.

A little bit later, we carry Karia back to Dahai's rundown shack.

Since it's locked Dahai knocks on the door, and immediately the door is swung open once again.

"Who's- Ah! DAHAI!" The little girl with a brown pony-tail and full light aluminum clothing yells as she jumps at Dahai's chest, almost causing him to lose his footing and grip on Karia.

"Yes yes it's nice to see you too, but let's save the hugs for later this girl needs help." Dahai says with happiness and seriousness in his voice.

"Oh, right!" She says with tears in her eyes.

Carrying her inside the shack, the inside is nicer than the outside at least as it's well kept with three beds inside along with a kitchen and table. The walls and floor are made of blue steel of course, but that's besides the point.

Me and Dahai lay her down on one of the beds, and they immediately get to work.

Dahai is doing most of the healing, but the little girl is helping here and there, handing him tools and doing some bandaging, but regardless watching Dahai intensely.

The duo finally finish, with Karia wrapped in bandages in a few places, mainly being her arms and around her chest. This definitely wasn't good for me though as it gave me more time to think about what we just did to Aeko.

"Alright, she is now in stable condition. Karia is lucky that she has trained for so long, those injuries probably would have killed a normal person." Dahai says as he rubs some sweat off of his forehead.

"Thanks a lot Dahai. So do we have to pay you, or...?" I ask carefully, since I'm pretty sure we're on a tight budget.

"Of course not, you saved me after all. But although I will take another payment..."

His face immediately changes into a pervy grin, and once again he gropes Karia's chest.

"CUT IT OUT! You're going to create a monster at this rate if your... adoptive daughter I think sees you doing this, Dahai." I shout, which thankfully gets him to stop.

He laughs a second later, and is about to walk up to me until he grunts in pain and falls onto another bed next to him.

"I guess my "On My Nerves: Jump Start" wore off." He says.

"Huh? You were using it this whole time?! I thought it only lasted 5 minutes, like when you used it on Karia!" I ask in shock.

"For others yes, but if I use it on myself I can bypass my injuries for much longer." He says weakly.

"Fear not, for my Blessing allows me to heal myself much faster than a normal being, because..." He says as he stops with uncertainty at the end.

The little girl then whispers to me "He doesn't know why-"

"Nonsense! It's because of how I can modify my Nerve signals!" He replies, saving himself from the shame.

"Anyways, goodnight!" He says as he instantly falls asleep and starts snoring on top of the sheets.

"HEY!?" I ask in complete confusion.

"He's different than most people, right?" The little girl says smiling.

"He was so serious before, why is he like this now?" I ask her.

"Well that's because he was in danger, you stupid Baboon!" She grins.

"I guess..." I reason, but slightly mad at her comment.

"Thank you so much, I thought he was going to be gone forever!" She says, now somehow crying.

"Oh, uh no problem. Although Karia did most of the-"

I stop myself as I remember how Karia used me as a shield as well as a distraction.

"I mean, WE did it." I correct myself.

"Why did you guys come here anyways? This place looks like a pile of doodoo." The girl asks brutally honestly.

"Oh, I wanted to get my body checked out by Dahai." I respond, now getting Aeko off of my mind a bit.

"Huh? Why? I never would have thought you would want a guy to do that to you."
The girl says with her hand on her mouth.

I start to laugh a bit, "Ha, I'll admit that was a good one. But aren't you a bit too young to make jokes like that?" I ask.

"Hmph, you can call me 10, but with Dahai around it's more like 110." She says shaking her head.

"..."

"110... Really..." I think to myself, stifling a laugh at the "brains" this girl has.

"...And no, I meant that I'm getting my body checked out because A I have no pulse, and B I can regenerate." I reply, shaking off the laughter.

The girl looks at me in disbelief for a second, until she walks over to me and reaches her hand up to my chest.

"Whoa! You really do have no pulse! I guess you're a Zombie then!" She says with gleaming eyes.

"Heh, for all I know you could be right. I can't remember anything up to a few days ago." I sigh, dragging my hands through my moderately thick hair.

"Well, Dahai should be able to help you, his blessing is super cool!" The little girl says.

"I hope so... And I guess the safest thing to do is to wait in here." I say as I stand up, looking around the room for anything fun to do.

"Why don't we go outside and play?!" The girl asks in excitement.

"I mean if you're normally allowed to go ahead, but since me, Karia and Dahai just made a huge scene, I don't think it's safe just yet." I respond.

"Aww..." She says in disappointment.

🕐🕒🕓

Me and the little girl who has the name "Suzie", play a few games around the small room, (that I totally let her win, by the way) and have some snacks for the rest of the day until nightfall.

Meanwhile, Karia and Dahai are still clocked out.

I yawn, "Well, I think I'm gonna go to bed now."

I look around, and realize there's only one bed. A dirty couch is in the room though, which I guess will have to do...

"Oh, I guess I'll sleep on the floor then." I say as I completely disregard using the couch after further examining it.

"No! You sleep on the bed, you guys are the first people that have came here in, like forever!" She says strongly.

I laugh, "Don't worry it's fine, I'll-"

"Nmhm! I'm not sleeping unless you're on that bed!"

I sigh, and walk over to the bed, getting in. I feel bad for her, but I'm sure not complaining.

"There, you happy now?" I ask.

"Yup!" She responds.

I smile and shake my head, getting myself comfortable in the bed.

"Night." I say, as Suzie says it back to me.

I said that, yet here I am not being able to fall asleep after an hour.

"𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦... 𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘐'𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘯? 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦? No, he's not dead! His Blessing was still active, so he has to be alive, right?...  𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴." I think pathetically to myself as I stare into the blue ceiling above.
