Vanessa smiled when she walked out of the auditorium and saw her father her grandparents and Raphael waiting for her. She put her diploma in her right hand and ran over to her dad, hugging him. He tightly wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up.

He kissed the side of her hand, "So very proud of you, Nessa."

"Thanks." she said as he set her down. She hugged her grandparents and kissed all four of their cheeks. She giggled when Raphael held out a punch of roses and she took them, kissing his cheek, "I love them."

Once they got back to the house, Adalyn had a table of food waiting for them. It was mostly healthy stuff like vegetables, fruit, and pasta but her dad put some burgers on the grill while they waited for some more of Vanessa family to come which they soon.

And Raphael and Vanessa was dodging water accidents here and there. Always cautions and worried they might even get a drop on them.

Vanessa watched awkwardly as Adalyn brought a piece of watermelon up to her father mouth and told him to open widely. He seemed a little weird out at first but shrugged and chuckled, opening his mouth to let her put the piece in his mouth.

"Hey, don't freak out." Raphael said. "You're dad smart."

"And Adalyn beautiful. Her tail being off doesn't mean she's any less beautiful. I said she was a distant cousin, what if . . . I don't know, ya know do something with each other?" she asked.

He chuckled, "Nessie, relax. You're over thinking this. So she's flirting, no harm. But I was thinking, why don't you come over tonight?"

"Come over?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"My family is going out of town over the weekend and I was able to get out of it. My father got the family room all finished and he put in a giant TV so it'll be like watching movies in a theater. You could stay over a night or two." he said.

Her face beamed as she looked down at her plate, "Oh."

He chuckled, "You don't have to stay overnight if you don't, but we could spend allot more time now that your graduated. Make your own decisions."

She looked up at him and gave him a stiffen smile, "Sounds like a nice idea. What movie?"

"Any movie you want to order. No romance." he said.

"Awe, but why!" she said. "I love a good romance film."

'I take it you would." he said. "I can make an exception if it's good."

She chucked and leaned over, kissing his cheek. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked around her backyard graduation party.

She wrapped her arm around Raphael and looked down at the grass. She knew why he got out of going out of town with his family. Tomorrow is the big day and she knew he was nervous. When she tried bring it up, he would change the story.

"Vanessa,'' Raphael said, grabbing her attention. She looked up at him and he lift his chin toward the entrance of the yard. She followed his direction and saw two young women coming in. Something about them Vanessa knew was different and the way they looked at Vanessa and Raphael meant she was right. The two girls looked at Adalyn with a cold look and Adalyn frowned at them. ''Come on.'' he said as he got up from the chair and took her hand.

They went over towards the two women and Vanessa cleared her throat, "Queen Severina sent you?"

''Of course." one said. "Tomorrow will be the day history changes again, unless you decided to stay human.''

''No, I'm doing it." Raphael said. ''As you can see, everything is going smoothly.

''Yes,'' the other said and smiled at Raphael. She stepped forward and placed her hands on his shoulders, making Vanessa eyes widen in surprised at how bold this mermaid was to do this in front of her. ''I'm very excited to see it.''

Vanessa reached over and took one of her hands, pulling her away from Raphael, ''You will be there?''

She glared at me, ''Queen Severina orders, just in case you might screw something up and risk us being exposed.''

''That wouldn't happen.'' she said confidently. ''And don't touch him again.''

''You should watch yourself, fledgling.'' she said.

Vanessa balled her hands into fist and the clouds turned gray, a lightning strikes across the sky, ''No, you should watch yourself.'' Vanessa said as she stepped towards the Amazon looking women. Raphael grabbed her hand, trying to pull her back, but something about another mermaid made her angry, a human girl made her jealous, a mermaid enraged her and something in her made her this confident to be protective for Raphael, ''Don't forget who's the special one.''

''Enough.'' Adalyn said as she came over. ''Causing a scene and Vanessa, calm down.'' she said as she placed a hand on Vanessa shoulder. ''Zirina, Alma, you have to leave Raphael alone. He is Vanessa mate, you can't have him.''

Vanessa loosened her hands as she grinned at Zirina who gave Vanessa a cold look and the sun came back out, ''Mine.'' Vanessa said and Zirina breathed out heavily from her nose.

''Fine then.'' she said as she stepped back. ''Alma, everything seems okay with him. We should go.''

''Wow.'' Vanessa said as she looked around Raphael family room. It had been redesigning and now that it was finished, she was so jealous of Raphael family wealth. ''Look at that TV, it's huge,'' she said as she walked over to the very large TV hanging on the wall.

Raphael walked over and pressed a bottom and the TV came on brightly she had to squint a little, making them chuckle since the room was dim a little. She stepped back and looked up at the mirrors on the ceiling as she twirled around a little.

She looked across the room and chuckled, ''Your dad actually put a pool table in here.'' she said. ''And a bar.''

''My uncles and their families come over allot.'' he said next to her. ''Wanna play?"

''Pool?'' she asked, chuckling. ''No thanks, I wouldn't even know what to do.''

Raphael turned to her and put his hands on her waist, turning her to him. She shyly smiled as he leaned down and kissed her. Butterflies filled her belly as his arms went around her waist and she tilt her head back. She kissed him for a few moments before the noise of her dad voice filled her ears warning her about being alone with a guy.

She broke the kiss and stepped back, quickly going over to the wrack of DVDs, ''So what movies do you have?"

''I thought Insidious we could watch.'' he said as he grabbed the DVD.

''Or,'' she said as she picked up a movie. ''The Lucky One.''

''Eh, Insidious sounds better.'' he said.

She pouted, ''I don't like horror movies.''

''This is hardly scary.'' he said, chuckling. 'And you can cover your eyes in my shoulder.'' he grinned.

''It is too scary, the trailer looked scary enough.'' she said, not wanting to see the movie. She wrapped her arms around his, ''Please Raphael, we can see that after. I want to see Sac Efron.''

''Oh, is he yours to?" he asked teasingly and she glared at him, hitting his arm.

''Shut up!" she said. ''I was saving you from them.''

''Hey, it’s okay.'' he said, shrugging. ''I liked it, it was cool. So adorable when you're jealous.'' he said as he pinched her cheek.

''I wasn't jealous!" she said in denial. She crossed her arms over her chest, ''Even, you are mine. I gave you your tail, so I am your queen technically.''

He put his hand on his waist, ''Oh, is that so?"

She nodded, ''Yes, it is so.'' she said. He reached out and put his hands on her waist, lifting her up. She squealed and giggled as her arms and legs went around him, ''What are you doing?"

''Showing my queen how much I love her.'' he said as he leaned up and kissed her. Her arms tighten around his neck a little as she kissed him. Butterflies filled her belly again, loving how Raphael always made her feel like that.

She pulled her head away though, ''So, popcorn?"

Raphael caught Vanessa and she tripped, sending them both down in the sand. They both chuckled as he lifted himself up and she brought her hand up, pushing him away, getting up from the ground and ran again down the beach. She breezed herself around the people and Raphael did the same thing as he chased her.

She giggled loudly as she ran up on the boardwalk and jumped into someone, falling onto the floor. Raphael frowned and ran up the steps, pushing the guy away, when he leaned towards Vanessa, ''Hey, watch It.'' he said before leaning down and helped Vanessa up.

''I-I'm fine.'' Vanessa said as her hand went to her elbow. ''Just a small scarp.''

Raphael looked at the guy this time, ''Watch where you’re going.'' he said coldly.

''Raphael, it was accident.'' she said and looked up at the guy. ''Are you alri--oh, James.''

Raphael eyebrows furrowed together and he looked at the guy this time seriously to see it was the blonde guy from last week.

''Hey Vanessa, you remembered me?" he questioned.

''Yeah, you helped me out.'' she said as she brushed her hair back behind her ears. ''What are you doing here?"

''Apparently running into you the same way we met.'' he said, chuckling at her. Raphael glared at him and put an arm around Vanessa protectively, making James stop. James cleared his throat, ''Anyways, I came here to actually find you,''

''Me?" she questioned. ''W-why?"

''Uh, kind of a secret.'' he said as he quickly glancing at Raphael. ''Anyways, I thought we could hang out because I need to tell you something that seems pretty crazy.''

''Oh, uh, I can't really today.'' Vanessa said.

''Tomorrow?" he asked.

''Uh—sure. Ever heard of Sirenas Wave? It’s a diner a few blocks away.'' Vanessa said.

He nodded, ''Okay, one sound good?"

She nodded, ''Sounds good.''

James nodded before giving Raphael one last glance before turning and walking down the boardwalk.

''He knows something.'' Raphael said.

''You think?" she asked, concern.

''You know what to do if he does.'' he said. ''He's lucky I can't do the tricks you can, he would have been sprayed by now.''

Vanessa chuckled, ''Jealous?" She turned to him and patted his shoulders, ''No need to be. I don't do human anymore.''

He put his arm around her and kissed her blonde head, ''Hmm, my lucky day.''

"Almost time.'' Adalyn said as she looked up at the moon that was moving the right spot. She looked out into the dark water and uncrossed her arms, ''If Zirina and a few of the others were coming, and they would have been here by now.''

''We can do this without them.'' Raphael said.

''No, we need a group of mermaids. It makes the spell less risky.'' she said.

''Risky!" he questioned, concern and Vanessa put her hand on his arm. ''Like what risk?"

''Like kill you.'' she said and he gulped, ''The strength of the other mermaids help strengthens your soul to be able to transform. And we don't have much time.''

Vanessa winced as she saw something in the water move and soon seven mermaids came up to the surface. Raphael breathes out like he was holding it in for a while and she took his hand as she turned. She pointed at his shirt and he undressed to his boxer. Vanessa face heated up at the sight of his strong looking body and hoped no one noticed.

''You're going to do great.'' Vanessa said.

He nodded and turned, but she grabbed his hand again and brought up behind his neck, kissing him quickly just to warn the girls that they are a couple. Raphael was a handsome merman and God only knows who long they been around a man like him.

''Okay, go.'' she said as she gave him an encouraging push out towards the sea. As an outcast from the coven, she wasn't allowed in the mermaid business. She's a rogue mermaid.

''What was that?" Adalyn asked her and she blushed.

''Good luck kiss.'' she said and Adalyn chuckled.

Raphael swan further out into the water until he was pasted the waves and the girls circled around him. He floated up on his back and looked to his left where a mermaid was smiling at him, making Vanessa ball her fist until Adalyn grabbed her right hand, shaking her head. Vanessa sighed heavily and loosened her hand.

Adalyn and Vanessa both looked up at the moon when they burst of energy filled Vanessa body. She took in a small intake of breath at the blissful feeling. She looked out unto ocean and the moon shined down on Raphael. She watched his fins kicked up and down on the water and twinkly lights sparkled around his lower end and soon a full golden scale tail formed,

A big smile appeared on Vanessa face as watched Raphael transform, almost like a proud feeling. Her transformation was a little different, everyone was surprised at what happened but still watching Raphael amazed her.

The moonlight faded away soon and Raphael lifted his head, his eyes widen as he looked at his six feet long tail. Vanessa quickly walked into the water and her own tail came and she swam towards Raphael. She swan under the girls and under Raphael, reaching up and pulled him under the water. He turned and looked at her surprise until he realized it was her.

She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him.
