15: Tell Her I Love Her

Elsa landed with a thud on the cold dark ground next to Hiccup and Merida. She groaned, "Owww." That really hurt.

"Jack!" Merida yelled angrily. Jack landed softly on his feet. Merida quickly stood up while Hiccup and Elsa continued to lay there. Merida pulled out her bow and an arrow, aiming it at Jack for the millionth time since they'd met. "Why'd ya doo that?! We could a been killed!"

Jack only rolled his eyes. "As I said, I've been here before. And now's not the time for this, Red. Remember who the real enemy is."

"Ya did not not jus' cull me Red." Merida growled, but lowered her weapon.

Hiccup got to his feet, and held his hand out to Elsa. She took it and he helped me to her feet. "Thank you." She smiled at him.

"No problem." He smiled back.

Suddenly there was a change in the room. It never felt comforting, it felt dark before. But now it was more full of fear than anything. They started searching around the room.

It was dark, barely any light to be seen. Elsa could make out cages and chains that hung from the ceiling. In the middle of the cave was a globe. Like the one at North's it appeared to have lights on it that represent the children that believe in guardians.

She looked closer at the cages, all of them appeared to have things in them. And not things...yetis and elves!

"Jack, Merida, Hiccup! The cages!" The elves and yetis started making loud noises, calling for them to let them out. Elsa created staircases all around the room that lead to different cages.

Jack quickly flew up to the highest ones, while Merida, Hiccup, and Elsa used the stairs to reach them. Merida worked the tip of an arrow in to pick the locks. Hiccup used two pin-looking thinks to open them. And Jack and Elsa made icicles form in the locks, then twisted them as if they were keys.

Elsa searched for Rapunzel and Kristoff, but they didn't appear to be in the room. If they were, the only place they could be would be in is one of the five cages that appear to be empty.

Once all the yetis and elves were free of their metallic prisons Jack threw a snowglobe for half of the yetis and all of the elves to go through. They need to help North and the kids work on the toys. The other half of the yetis are helping to find Rapunzel and Kristoff.

She came to stand next to Jack as he talked to a large, dark yeti. "Phil, you didn't happen to see two blondes, Pitch is keeping prisoner, did you? One is the girl with really long hair that was chosen to be a guardian. The other was a man; really muscular with hazel eyes."

Phil nodded his head and pointed up. Elsa's gaze followed to where he was pointing. Her bright blonde hair could now be seen, even in the terrible light.

"Kristoff! Rapunzel! is that you?" Elsa shouted.

Jack, Merida, and Hiccup looked up.

"Yes!" Rapunzel's voice called, "Get us out!"

"I'm coming!" She didn't hesitate to create yet one more staircase made of ice that lead right to Rapunzel's cage. Jack flew up to her cage as Hiccup and Merida carefully ran up the stairs behind her.

In front of Her was Rapunzel. Except she wasn'ts the bubbly Rapunzel she'd come to know. Her face was tear stained. Her dark green dress was covered in dirt and dried blood, and was tattered. Her hair, which used to be smooth and beautiful, was now nappy and looked like it was mauled by a cheetah.

"Rapunzel are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Elsa asked.

Rapunzel sobbed gripping the bars to the cage, "Yes but, I healed myself with my hair. It's posses the power to heal. I never told you because I thought you would all think I'm a freak. I'm so sorry! But don't worry about me! Worry about Kristoff. Once Pitch found out I was healing him, he put us in these cages. He might be infected! Pitch has been cutting us!"

Merida used the tip of an arrow to unlock the cage's heavy door.

Rapunzel sprang out of the cage and hugged Elsa tightly. She immediately let go and pointed to a cage about twenty feet away. "Kristoff is in that one."

Jack was there in a heartbeat, "Kristoff are you in here?" He asked.

Elsa heard a faint mumble. She just knew it was him, she built a bridge to the cage.

"Kristoff." Elsa gasped, "Merida open the cage!" Before the red head could even move, Hiccup was at the door, it opened a second later.

Elsa rushed into the cage and knelt down next to Kristoff. He was in worse shape than Rapunzel. His eyes were open but not alert. His clothes were tattered, and covered in dirt as well. But even more horrifying...was the fresh blood seeping through his shirt. She couldn't even tell where he was bleeding from. His breathing was slow and labored. "Is s-she okay?" He panted.

She gently placed her hands on his face and nodded her head, tears pooling in her eyes. He's going to be alright. She attempted to reassure herself, but deep down inside she didn't think he'd make it.

"I asked Anna to m-marry me without your blessing, E-Elsa. I'm sorry." He smiled slightly, "she said yes."

He proposed to Anna. They're engaged. Elsa smiled a little bit at the dying man before her, "Its okay, Kristoff. I'm glad you did. You're going to be alright I promise." Her voice cracked on the last words. "Rapunzel!" She screamed.

"Tell her I love her." Kristoff said, closing his eyes.

"You'll be able to tell her yourself." She whispered, smiling, tears slipping down het cheeks, then freezing.

Rapunzel rushed in, quickly noticing why Elsa needed her, she checked over him, "Elsa...I don't know if it'll work." A few more tears escaped from Elsa's eyes.

Jack, Hiccup, and Merida watched them from outside of the cage, their eyes filled with sorrow.

"Please just try?" She begged. Rapunzel sighed and started to sing. Her hair began to glow at the roots then slowly snuck down to the ends that were somewhere outside of the cage. The song was is beautiful, and about halfway through Elsa leaned over Kristoff's head, "Please don't leave Anna. She needs you," She begged him.

Rapunzel finished her song. Elsa looked up at her, asking if it worked. She removed her hair of  of him. "Kristoff?" Elsa waited but there was no response.

He can't leave Anna. She loves him, she'll be depressed like I was all those years. I can't let that happen to Anna. My quirky Anna...

"Kristoff!" Elsa cried, tears rolling in a steady stream down her face. His chest didn't rise and fall as it should, and she feared it never again would.

A hand landed on her shoulder, she glanced up to see Jack. She stood up and hugged him, crying into his shoulder. "Shhh," he cooed, "It's okay, Elsa."

It really wasn't 'okay' but his words made her feel better as she clutched onto his shirt. She didn't know if it was that he was practically the only person to care about her since her family, or if it was because he seemed to understand her on the deepest of levels...but for some odd reason, she thought she could trust him.

"What about Anna?" Elsa sobbed further.

His hand was rubbing her back, "We'll figure it out, Elsa. We always will."

"Well isn't this a treat?"

They jerked around. Standing by the door of the cage was the one and only Bogeyman--Pitch Black.

"How dare you!" Elsa stomped over to him but as soon as she got close he turned into a shadow.

"Boo!" Pitch said from behind her.

She terrified of the man, but not so scared that couldn't move. She raised my hand to strike, but an arrow was shot into his chest.

Pitch glared at Merida who stood directly behind Elsa. He flicked his hand. Nightmares appeared, surrounding the five. "Did you think a little arrow could kill me?"

Merida returned his glare, "Nay. But I was hoping it would doo some damage." Her response was thick in sarcasm and disdain.

Pitch smirked, "Well unfortunately for you, it didn't."

Hiccup laughed, startling Pitch a.d catching him off guard. "At least it was a distraction."

A familiar voice came from behind them, "They won't let you win."

It can't be! Elsa's body whipped around to see if it could possibly be true. But it is!
