" I talked with Penny. She told me that Spencer has to talk to the head editor now."

Spencer looked at the message sent by Eleanor. He gave her both his and John's number. Yet, she gave this message to John even though she could have sent this to him directly. Was he that scary?

As if John could hear his thoughts, John spoke, "It's Your fault, you know. You snapped at her. No one snaps at a girl in the first meet."

Spencer glared at him, "It doesn't matter whether she is scared of me or not. What matters is that now I have to go out and meet the head editor."

"And.....?"

"Are you joking, John? I haven't got out in ... I don't know... maybe years?"

"Grocery shopping," John argued.

"That doesn't count."

"Well whether you like it or not, you have to go if you want the job."

Spencer sighed. He wore his coat and was about to leave when he turned, "Wait! what about the address?"

Right, Eleanor didn't mention the address at all.

John checked his phone.

John laughed," Is she a telepath? She just sent me the address."

" I am so sorry, I didn't mention the address. Here's the address... Penny will meet you there. Also, Alex can be a bit intimidating but he is not bad."

John smiled, "She seems like an entirely different person in the text."

Spencer said, "You don't even know her at all, kiddo."

John punched Spencer's shoulder, "Don't call me a kiddo! I am an adult."

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever."

Spencer went out. It felt like the sunlight was burning his skin. But, it was expected he hadn't gone out in a long time. When he went to search for John yesterday, it was night so there was no problem.

As expected, Penny was waiting for them.

Penny clicked her tongue, "There are you, Prince Charmings! I thought you wouldn't appear at all. Follow me."

Both of them followed her.

Penny continued, "I don't know how Eleanor agreed. If I were in her place, I wouldn't have allowed you to be my editor at all. You are so ignorant."

Spencer quickly replied, "As if you are any better."

Penny glared at him. She opened a cabin's door," Alex, our guests are here."

The man put his file down. He was perfectly suited up. The black coat he was wearing suited him perfectly. His hair was also well set.

Alex smiled, "Ah, welcome! Welcome!"

John was too shocked to speak. This guy took his interview last week and rejected his internship.

Alex shook hands with Spencer. Despite being hesitant, Spencer decided to shake hands.

Then, it was John's turn.

Alex smiled," Mr. Jonathan, did you apply for our internship?"

John was startled," Yes...yes...yes, sir. I did. But, I got rejected, sir."

"Why did he say Yes three times? This idiot!"Penny thought.

Alex laughed hearing his answer," No. You were not. You made some mistakes in your form that's why we couldn't reach you."

"Wait.. does that mean.."

"Yes, Jonathan. You have been selected."

"No way! My idiot brother has been selected for an internship?" Spencer thought.

Penny, on the other hand, found it a bit odd.

Alex continued," Now, Jonathan and Penelope, please excuse us. I need to talk with Spencer alone."

Penny nodded and took John with her.

Alex told Spencer to take a seat.

He gave Spencer a file, "Terms and conditions. Listen, Spencer, I know Eleanor chose you to be her illustrator. This thing is really important to her. And it's important to me too. Because she is important to me."

Spencer got the hint.

"Does Eleanor and Alex have a special relationship?" Spencer wondered.

He read all the terms and conditions but one point caught his eye.

He pointed, "This..."

Alex smirked, "You have to follow this rule, Spencer. If you can't then I will happily appoint another illustrator."

Spencer thought for a while, "I need this job even if it means.... following this absurd rule."

"Fine," Spencer said

Spencer went out of the cabin and saw John.

"So...."John said.

"The deal is confirmed. This job is mine now. Where's Penny?"

"She had some work so she left. "

Then, John and Spencer left the office.

After some time, Penny entered Alex's cabin.

"Alex, about John, I mean Jonathan, he was rejected.."

Before Penny could finish, Alex put a finger against her lips.

"Even walls have ears. Yes, Jonathan or John as you call him was rejected." Alex said.

"Then, why did he accept him now?"

Alex picked up the coffee mug from his table and took a sip.

He smiled, "Oh honey, you are new in this line that's why you don't know. John is a guarantor. If he is here, his brother won't leave the project."

"Don't you think it's a bit extreme.. to toy with people's feelings?"

"Not at all. Mr. Brown needs to make a comeback. Eleanor needs to make a comeback. I will do anything to make sure that it happens."
