I head toward route 9, because it's the route that gets me to the rock tunnel. The rock tunnel will get me to the power factory. i can't remember exactly what I'm supposed to do there, but its constructive to the storyline. I catch an ekans after battling the first few trainers. After that I maneuver my way through the trainers and rocks and ledges. When I get to route 10, i catch a voltorb in the grass and heal my pokemon at the pokemon center there. I train golbat to lv 33, and begins to evolve! But to my horror, the evolution just stops. And ..?? Flashes across the text bar. I'm completely confused. I consult the internet and find out that golbat wont evolve until you get the national dex. That's going to be after I beat the elite 4- after I accomplish my goal. I feel completely screwed over, but I decide to keep crobat on my team for now. I catch a machop during a quick visit to rock tunnel. machops pretty useless for me due to the fact that I cant trade.
