I head down through the underground tunnel. I emerge in the next route. I battle a few trainers and zubat becomes a Golbat. It's now usable so i use it to battle a couple trainers and raise its level. I heal up in vermilion. i cant battle the gym yet because of the tree in front and I know cut is needed. Hm cut is on the S.S Anne, but I decide to train up first, because I know Gary is waiting for me there probably plotting another one of my pokemon's demise. I train up my pokemon on route 11 by battling the many trainers there. I reach the routes end and instantly encounter a roadblock at the start of the next route. Its a Snorlax! I'm going to need a special item to wake it up that i obtain in lavender town or somewhere close to it. So i leave it be at the moment and head onto diglets cave. This cave leads all the way to viridian, but I don't need to go there at the moment, so I decide to catch a diglet that will be the key to winning the battle against Lt. Surge. I encounter and capture a Naive lv 16 Diglet. I also raise wartortle in the cave and it becomes a powerful Blastoise. After healing in vermillion i decide that diglet will have to be raised- but due to its low Hp it will have to be carefully raised by the send out- switch method. I proceed to the dock and prepare to board the Luxury cruise liner titled S.S Anne.
