After resting up in the pokemon center, I set out to see the sights in Lavender. I check the residents for items but all they talk about are ghosts and such. I enter the Imposing Pokemon Tower, which is supposedly overrun by spirits. Inside, I wipe the floor with Gary. For the moment, his pokemon aren't really a threat. After defeating him, I continue on to the third floor and try to encounter a pokemon, but they can't be seen without a silph scope. I climb down and prepare to leave Lavender. I head down the road and battle a few trainers before encountering my first pokemon. Its a Growlithe, just what I've hoped for. But I do recall these pokemon having roar at this lv, so i play it safe and use confuse ray. It hurts itself. I throw a pokeball, and it breaks out. It hurts itself again. I throw a pokeball and it's caught. I feel very lucky- things might be looking up for me. With Growlithe and Golbat in hand , I doubt I will lose to the next gym, which uses grass pokemon. I battle a line of trainers and lv up Growlithe a little as well as fight a few bikers. I reach celadon city.
