With my Pokemon healed, i head for the gym. I battle the three trainers before trying to figure out the puzzle and diglet is raised to lv 24. i try maybe 5 or 6 times to beat the switch puzzle and i open the doors. I challenge Lt. Surge to a battle. This battle didn't go exactly like my previous gym battles, however- diglet OHKOs both of his first pokemon with a lv 5 and then a lv 7 magnitude. Then raichu comes out. It uses double team before I can hit it, and I already know this is going to be a different type of foe. I hit it with a lv 6 magnitude, and it survives. It hits me with quick attack, and suddenly I'm aware that if it gets a crit with another quick attack it could kill diglet. Good thing my diglet is a crack shot with magnitude. I use magnitude 8, and it finds its mark. Raichu is down and out and I've earned my Thunder badge. Diglet also reaches lv 25. After healing at the pokemon center, i raise diglet one more lv and it evolves into a dugtrio. I store dugtrio in my P.C as back up; I've already used a dugtrio before in a playthrough, sp i don't want to use it unless I have to. I head off with my cut taught Meowth in bag to route 9.
