Welcome
Scar's Perspective-
I smiled and kissed Cub's cheek.
Cub blushed and pushed me away.
"Stop!" He shouted and I smirked, leaning closer.
"Why? What'll happen if I don't?"
Cub rolled his eyes.
I leaned in again and heard the doorbell ring.
I stopped and got up, opening the door to see Tango.
"Tango? What are you- "
Tango looked irritated and I quietly let him inside.
"Oh- hey Tango!" Cub smiled and Tango glared at him.
"Tango, what are you doing here? I thought you lived up in- "
"Yeah, I came back to see my parents." Tango snapped, interrupting Cub.
"Then...why aren't you with them?" Cub asked cautiously.
Tango huffed and he punched the wall.
Cub and Scar jumped, and Tango was clearly trying not to explode.
Scar immediately led Tango to the guest bedroom and then left Tango by himself to calm down.
Scar sighed as he sat back down across from his husband.
"What's he doing here?" Cub asked.
"I have no idea, but I feel like we should leave him alone until he's ready to talk."
-
Cub had already gone to bed by now and Scar gently opened the door to the guest room to see Tango staring out the window.
Scar sat down next to him, and he sighed.
"Sorry." Tango said, "I didn't mean to storm in like I did."
"It's alright."
"It's not though." Tango said, chuckling, "I'm not allowed to just break into my friend's house, ready to explode."
Scar chuckled as well.
"Just...tell me what happened." Scar said, putting his hand on Tango's shoulder.
Tango shrugged him off, "I don't wanna talk about it right now."
"Alright, I get that."
They both stared out the window silently.
"I'm happy for you." Tango said.
Scar turned to him and tilted his head.
Tango smiled grimly, tears falling down his cheeks.
"I'm happy you can live your life and not have to worry about failing everyone. I'm happy you can live peacefully with the one you love."
"Tango- "
"No, no, I shouldn't have just come in and ruined your life." Tango said, standing up.
"You're not ruining my life though."
"Scar, I have the potential to burn this place down."
"I know you do, but..."
"But what?"
"I don't want you to have to be alone in this."
"You don't know what life is like for me."
"I may not, but I've seen the news recently. I've heard about the house burning down and the forest."
Tango looked down and Scar put his hand on his shoulder.
"I know what's happening to you right now, and I understand how hard it is for you to deal with this. So, you can stay here as long as you'd like."
"Thanks, but...I think I know what I need to do tomorrow."
The Next Day (Tango's Perspective)-
Tango woke up the next day and got dressed. Today was important. He had to make it up to them.
He runs back to the forest to see the other hybrids, communicating with each other.
Peg sees Tango and, in a flash, she strikes him down.
"What are you doing here." They say menacingly.
Tango's eyes widen.
"I- I came to apologize."
Peg narrowed her eyes, but Davien ran over and made her get off him.
The other hybrids glared at Tango, who felt nervous.
"Look, guys I'm sorry about what happened, I just lost control and- "
"You realize you almost killed Gem, right?" Scott asks and Tango looks down.
"I- I know and I'm sorry- "
"Sorry's nice, but how's it supposed to fix our home?" Martyn snapped.
"Yeah, where are we supposed to go?" Ren asked, "You expect us to just go out in the world and try and find a new home? We can't blend in like you can."
"I- "
"I knew Gem shouldn't've let you in." Grian said, "Fire hybrids are only good at one thing. And that's destruction."
The hybrids turned around and started to walk off.
Tango felt defeated and Davien was about to say something when Peg grabbed his arm and tugged him along.
Tango sighed and sat down on the ground.
He looked at all the destruction he caused and grumbled.
"This is all my fault." He muttered.
He saw a twig on the ground and picked it up.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, focusing on trying to light it on fire. He opened his eyes again and saw a flame atop the stick.
"Ohh, so now I can do it! Just great."
He set the torch on the ground.
"Can you believe that we did this? I caused all of this." Tango's voice grew shaky, and he sighed.
He then turned to the torch and chuckled as he held it.
"Guess it's just you and me. You need a name though..."
I stared at it and then smiled.
"Torchy. Welcome to my life Torchy."
