She stood there, no longer wanting to be there. The lights too bright, the people too loud, even the music which she loved and craved so much was coming back at her with a vengeance. The daggers attacking her from all directions. Her breathing sped, her heart pounded, head throbbed. She had to get out of there. She walked as calmly as she could muster up the stairs and out into the night. The wind chill freezing the daggers that attacked. She hugged herself, arms tight around her waist. Not again, please. They had gotten worse since moving out, the panic attacks that had supposedly ended before college came back biting. It was hard every time, becoming more frequent and difficult to fight off. She knew she had amazing friends who would help her through anything, but they couldn't understand exactly what it felt like. She wanted to be anywhere but there. Her friend caught her eye and waved, then frowned. She jogged over to get a better look, "Hey, are you ok?" She mustered a smile and nodded, though not actually feeling any good at all. Her friend slipped her arms around her waist and let her lay her head on her shoulder. "Let's get you home. It's been a rough week." She could only nod, thanking whoever is up there that her friends do get it. "Thank you," she whispered. "Hey, it's my job". She closed her eyes and let her friend lead her home, the daggers clanking to the ground behind her.
