Chapter 6

"Merry Christmas!" Zoe shouted when she got inside my room

I just closed my eyes and refused to wake up. It was way too early to be woken up.

"Oh come on I know you're awake" she said and I felt her footsteps coming closer to my bed, I just kept my eyes shut.

I jolted upright when she snatched the sheets off me, leaving me there in the cold to freeze to death. Okay I was exaggerating, I know but seriously Zoe is annoying.

"You're the most annoying person in the entire world" I grumbled

"Your words hurt me" she gasped dramatically

"Its too early to wake up" I whined, I was way too exhausted for this shit

"Its like 9am in the morning, get your ass up. Its Christmas for Christ sake" she took my hand yanking me off bed and pushed me into the bathroom.

Sighing in defeat, I began to shower, hoping it would wash away the tiredness I was feeling.

I slept this morning at 3am, I was up all night with Kyle's mother, his sisters and Brian's mate Michelle whom just got back from college.

I think its safe to say Kyle and I's relationship has grown since the party. We kiss more often, hold hands all the time and we cant just seem to be apart for more than 3 hours.

He was a sweet guy and I was falling helplessly in love with him. I didn't want to push it though but my heart literally skips a bit when I see him, he makes me feel things I cannot explain and whenever we kiss its like we kissing for the first time.

James' almost died of happiness when he found out that I was way past taking it slow with Kyle. He even asked me if we had already did it, as if I'll ever tell him but no we haven't done the deed its still early days.

Ethan was happy for us but you can see that he was still suspicious, he had every right to be after what happened with Paul. I really hope he finds his mate soon, I really do.

Kyle has been helping me to deal with the demons of my past, I still have nightmares about that day but he's always been there to keep me company and help me relax, like I said he's a very good guy.

Jane is still Jane, she comes and goes as she pleases but mainly is to piss me off. I still want to kill her every now and then but I cant James still loves her even if she doesn't.

I finally stepped out of the shower and dried myself. When I stepped out of my bathroom in my bathrobe, I found Kyle standing by the window with a cup of coffee in his hand. Did I mention he makes the best coffee in the entire world? Well he does.

"Is that for me?" I asked walking up to him and kissing him full on the lips, he groaned when I pulled apart

"Yes its for you. Merry Christmas babe" he flashed me a killer smile

"Thank you, merry Christmas to you too" I said with a smile taking the mug from him

The door flew open and Zoe walked in "Hey alpha mind stepping out so that she can get dressed apparently we have to wait for her in order to open presents"

"Why wait for me?" I asked

"I bet it was my mother's order" Kyle laughed lightly "I'll leave you to get dressed then"

After he left Zoe pulled out a pair of white skinny jeans, a white tank top and a cream white cardigan, there was so much white.

"Why so much white" I asked with my brow raised

"Because its Christmas duh"

"But you're not wearing white" she was wearing a purple sundress

"Yeah because white looks nice on you" that was a lame excuse

I pulled out my red floral dress and put it on instead of the clothes she picked out for me and paired it up with my black pumps. I let my hair down on my shoulders and decided against make up.

"That still works for me" Zoe commented when I exited the bathroom

"Lets go open some presents shall we" I honestly don't know why they were waiting for me, its not like I was supposed to open them.

"Yes please lets go"

"So if you're a queen why don't you have your tiara on" Levi, Mary'Anne's eight year old son asked me

"Not all queens wear tiaras" or do they?

"All queens and princesses wear tiaras. I know they do" well what do I say then.

Before I could answer Kyle scooped Levi up and set on the couch where Levi was sitting, putting him on his lap.

"Why are you bothering my queen?" He asked Levi feigning seriousness and my heart melted, he just called me his queen.

"Your queen doesn't have a tiara"

"She's my queen and she doesn't need one" he said winking at me, I giggle lightly

"Well your queen sucks" Levi grumbled getting off his lap and running to his mother

"He's so cute" I commented looking at him talking randomly with his mother

"So are you" I turned my attention and found him smiling down on me with so much love in his face "I have something for you"

"What is it?" I asked wondering what he has for me. I've opened so many presents these past few hours to last me five years. I was now officially tired of reading cards and saying thank you to everyone who got me presents.

"Lets go to my office I'll give it to you" I eyed him suspiciously and he smile sheepishly

With a sigh I got up and followed him to his office. Getting inside, he moved to his desk and pulled out a box handing it to me.

I took the box with a tired sigh "Not again"

"Everyone gave you something I never gave you anything" he argued

I took a seat on the couch and opened the box, finding the latest iPhone 6 inside.

"Wow thank you" I smiled at him

"It has everyone's numbers and I'm on speed dial" he explained taking a seat beside me

"Haven't had one for almost a year now" I said my eyes tearing. It reminded me on my human life, my parents to be precise.

This was the first time spending Christmas without them and it was the worst feeling ever.

"You left it at Paul's" his eyebrows furrowed in confusion when he asked

"There was life before Paul" I whispered.

Taking a deep shaky breath I told him the whole story about how I came to Paul's and all that jazz.

"I didn't know" he said pulling me to his chest brushing away the tears that fell on my cheeks

"Don't worry about it, it gets less and less painful with the passing days" it was true, I still had nightmares of the day but it happens after a very long time

"Thank you for the phone though, it means a lot"

He rubbed the back of his head which is something he does when he's feeling nervous "That's not all"

I looked at him puzzled "What is it?" I asked

"Lets take a walk in the garden"

I followed him outside holding the phone in my other hand holding hands with him with the other.

It didn't take a while after we got outside for me for me to see my present. I looked at him and back at it and looked at him again.

"No no no noooooo" I shook my head

"It's all yours" he smiled

"This is too much Kyle" I whined

"I want to make you happy" he argued

"You don't need to buy me material things to make me happy. You make me happy" I told him seriously

"Just take it... please" he pleaded

I looked at him and the red Ferrari and let out a long sigh "I'll take it but only if you give me a foot massage tonight" I bargained

"Done" he smiled "lets go for a ride" he tossed the keys to me

"I haven't driven a car in a while" I said catching the keys in my hand

"It should be easy, come on" he pulled me towards it

Turns out I still know how to drive. I thought after so many months I'd be disorientated but here I was driving mindlessly with the windows rolled down and my hair flying backwards, trees flying by as we sped down the lonely road. It was thrilling.

"I love it!" I shouted to Kyle over the wind he smiled at me

"Pull over here" I pulled over at a small clearing with the sunset clearly visible, it was a lovely sight.

We both got out of the car and sat on the hood, watching the sunset.

"This was the best Christmas ever" Kyle said pulling my head so it was lying on his shoulder

"It was indeed" Although James was still sick and unable to move, we did take the party to him and it was amazing.

We fell into comfortable silence, watching as the sun went down until I remembered something that I've been meaning to do for days now.

"I have something for you" I told him

"What is it" he asked kissing the top of my head.

I moved my head from his shoulder and started kissing him. He grabbed my neck and pulled me closer deepening the kiss but the kiss was not what I wanted from him. I pulled apart and looked at him.

"I figured something out in the morning" I said "Paul marked me a while back but since he wasn't my real mate, it kind of faded so I was thinking that since I'm the queen and since every queen needs a king, hows about you mark me and be my king?"

He cupped my face into his big hands and smiled "You're not kidding are you?"

"I mean it"

He kissed me senseless, weakening my knees before I felt his teeth sink into the flesh of neck, marking me as his.

The next day Liz, Zoe and I were baking cookies. Well it was more like Liz was teaching us how to bake cookies.

"You can put the tray in the oven and stop eating the dough Zoe" Liz scolded and Zoe smiled sheepishly before placing the tray inside the oven

I was cleaning the kitchen counter when I felt something tug at my pants, confused, I looked down and found Levi smiling at me.

"What is it little man" I asked watching as his smile fell off his face and was replaced by a frown

"I'm not little" he was so cute

"Okay sorry" I apologized "What is it big man?"

He grinned at me and removed his hand behind his back, producing a pink small tiara.

"Since you didn't have a tiara, I got one for you" he said holding it in his tinny hands

I kneeled on the floor so that I was on his level and he put it on my head.

"Thank you" I smiled at him

"You're most welcome your highness" he bowed and left.

As I watched him go with a smile on my face, my eyes connected with Kyle's and I found him smiling down at me.

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked getting up from the floor

"I just got here. Nice tiara by the way" he said pulling me to his chest and kissing on the mark he gave me making me moan before our lips connected, our kiss, much to my irritation, was broken by a throat clearing.

I found Zoe and Liz standing on the other side of the kitchen. I totally forgot they were standing there. That's what Kyle does to me, he makes me forget about the world.

"You two can take this upstairs you know. There are children in here for God's sake" Zoe said gesturing at Liz' belly

"Quit being dramatic, this is just us showing them how they were made unless you want the full version of it" Kyle joked and I slapped his arm lightly

"You're gross alpha" Zoe scrunched her nose in disgust.

Zoe never called Kyle by his name, she always referred to him as alpha and apparently that, to some people, was disrespectful but Kyle explained that Zoe had her own alpha, the earth lord since she was an earth elemental and all.

"I'm having a meeting with the neighboring packs so I was wondering if you could join us" he asked me "You too Zoe"

"I hate politics" I grumbled

"Me too" Zoe whined

"Its not politics I swear, it just important matters we need to discuss" he explained

Zoe looked over to me and I nodded in agreement, I mean really whats the worst that could happen.

"Liz you don't mind do you" I asked her

"No not at all but you two should come back as soon as you're done, got it"

"Yes ma'am" I saluted following Kyle to his office where we found Brian, Robert, Kevin and two other guys that I didn't know sitting on the large table that was in there.

Kyle took a seat at the head and I took one on his right while Zoe took the one on the left.

"Okay shall we get started?" Robert asked

"Yes we may. For the past two weeks or so pack members have gone missing" the guy in short brown hair explained

"The same has been happening to a few humans and last I check we agreed humans cannot be touched" the bald guy said

"Gentlemen, what I can assure you is that we know nothing about whats happening except for the fact that a hybrid is on the run and he is said to be creating an army" Kyle explained

"We are aware of that but we want to know what your strategy is" brown hair argued

"We haven't developed any but I assure you that this matter will be dealt with by us" Kyle shot back

"I hope you act soon Lord Kyle because if you don't we will" bald guy said getting up from the chair

Kyle growled at him "Is that a threat Mark"

"Take it however way you want to take it" and with that the two men left.

Looking at the conflicted Kyle,I knew that war was coming and soon. We had to do something, no, I had to do something.

I need to have a word with Frank. The question, however is where to find him.
