I Wonder Who Won The Game

New chapter! This one is dedicated to Cherry_Cola_x who writes one of my favorite Wattpad books, it's called The Bad Boy Stole My Bra, and you should definitely go read it! I included a picture of Brian McMan above who is played by Vladimir Ivanov. I also put a link to the song Drop The Game by Flume and Chet Faker. It sort of reminds me of Wynn's Isolation, especially the music video.

"Are you sure this looks okay?" I asked Ophelia for the hundredth time. She just gave me a look. "What? It's not very... Me." I looked down at the outfit again. Ophelia had lent my the one outfit in her closet that wasn't paint splattered, a tight mid-thigh length jean skirt, a flower patterned tank top and of course bare feet, I insisted on that part. I had to at least look a little hippie-ish. My curly red hair was down and fell at my lower back. She even convinced me to wear a little eyeliner. I didn't look like Kaia Johnstone, and I definitely didn't look like Wynn Noble. It was unnerving to say the least.

After I'd told Ophelia Adam had invited me to his football game all earlier anger towards him flew out the window, because according to her. 'My doomed-to-be-a-crazy-cat-lady best friend had finally found a little romance. I had to remind her that it was just a high school football game and we probably wouldn't even get to talk to Adam before Brian throttled him.

"Come on we have to get there early to see him!" Ophelia grabbed my hand and pulled me out of my room, despite my protesting. Eventually I just gave up and stopped complaining, there was no arguing with Ophelia once she set her mind to something and she was set on getting me and Adam together.

We walked down to the school, there was already a bunch of people and irrelevants alike in the parking lot, either smoking cigarettes or drinking out of a not-so-secret flask. That about summed up Clarenceville High.

I noticed Sierra on the hood of a car in a ridiculously short cheerleading uniform flirting with Brian McMan. He was in his Football jersey and you could tell she was flirting because she kept touching his arm and giggling.

Scratch Adam and her, Brian and Sierra would be the perfect couple, they both had anger issues. There was a faint purple outline on Brian's jaw where you could see that Adam had punched him. Other than that he seemed fine.

"Come on!" Ophelia pulled me away from the scene in front of me. I followed her (not that I had a choice) towards the back where the football field and the bleachers were. Sure enough there was a few people filling up the bleachers, and one couple that was getting a little too up close and personal for my taste. On the football team was a few of the members talking, but Adam was no where to be seen. I wasn't disappointed, just a little scared for Opelia's reaction.

Ophelia frowned. "Where could he be..." She muttered to herself. It was a bit scary when she got so focused like this, usually she was flaky and a bit forgetful but right now she was almost like a different person.

"Hey, it's okay we can find him after." I smiled at Ophelia. She snapped out of it, and seemed to remember that I was there.

An easy smile came back onto her face. "Okay." She said, we sat down on the bench and as soon as we did a piercing migraine went through my head. I clutched the side of my head and groaned. Ophelia rushed over to me in concern. I doubled over in pain. It felt like something was going to burst from my brain. I had never felt anything this bad. It was worse than when I was nine and they took us, we had to go through all kinds of awful medical tests, I thought that was the worst pain I'd ever been through but this was a hundred times worst. The pain reached it's peak and my vision started blurring. It felt like I was going to die. The last thing I saw before I let the inky blackness overcome me was Adam in the entrance of the football stadium collapsing on the ground, holding his head.

. . .

God I wonder what happened, this was never supposed to happen. Why both of them?

I groan, the voice pierced my brain. It sounded weird, clearer somehow than normal voices.

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. A bright white light entered my vision and I closed my eyes and rolled over again. I heard a melodic chuckle come from the corner of the room and I knew I was not alone. I lifted my head slowly and gazed around. I wasn't in a hospital room, there were no hospitals in Clarenceville, nobody ever got hurt.

I sat in an uncomfortable bed on white sheets. I lay on a thin white pillow and I wore the same clothing that I went to the football game in.

Finally she's awake

I hear the voice again. I look around for the source and my eyes land on a figure sitting in the corner of the room on an old floral patterned chair.

Ophelia stood up, I then recognized the voice as my best friend, it still sounded clearer somehow, like she was speaking right next to me.

"Yes I am." I smiled, a puzzled look went over her delicate features but was quickly replaced with concern. "How are you feeling?" She asked, running a hand through her long white-blonde hair. "Like someone hit me in the head with a brick." I said dryly. Ophelia laughed, and then it came to an uncomfortable silence.

I don't think she knows

I heard Ophelia's voice again. It sounded different from when she was speaking earlier.

"Know what?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. There was definitely something she wasn't telling me.

A look of alarm crossed Ophelia's face.

Shit it's happening

She said, a fearful tone to her voice.

I sat up in the bed, "What is happening!?!" I said, frustrated.

Ophelia bit her lip and sighed. She took a few minutes to answer. "The same thing happened to Adam... It wasn't as bad as you, but he still blacked out as well." She said reluctantly.

I sucked in a breath. So I was right, I did see him fall to the ground. "Is he okay?" I asked, worried out of my mind. The pain I felt was unimaginable, it made me sick thinking he would have to go through it as well.

Ophelia nodded. There was a guarded expression on her face and I still felt like she was hiding something from me.

"Where is he? Can I see him?" I asked, the concern evident in my voice.

Ophelia nodded. "Sure, he's been waiting for the hallway for an hour since you got here." She wiggled her eyebrows at me. I shoved her playfully. "Just send him in." I smiled. Ophelia nodded and got up.

She can't know, this will destroy the whole plan

I heard her say, so softly that I felt like I might have imagined it.

Before I had the chance to call her back and ask her to explain she was out the door, and in rushed a disheveled looking Adam. I went to ask him how he was but before I could speak he said something that made me close my mouth and not open it for a while.

"I think someone did this to us."

*Ducks behind Clarenceville High* I'm sorry I know I haven't published a chapter in a while but I've literally had zero time. All my time has been divided between softball and summer school. I decided that I'll publish a new chapter every Monday, with obvious exceptions when I want to publish an early one, but the goal is every Monday. Thanks so much for reading and if you like TFY please vote and comment!!
