Chapter 1: The Lost Prince
Fawn POV
"What do you mean?" I said, my eyes narrowing as I looked down at the leader of the dragons. "Are you denying my invitation to rally our forces?"
"You mean, your forces." the Dragon King said, smirking. "What would be the use for us to join your petty mortal squabble?"
"If you want to have your whole kingdom and subjects obliterated, fine! Be that way!" I shouted. "Sooner or later, Notch is going to restart this world, and we'll not remember anything. He'll reverse the glitch that caused the dragon population to grow! Do you understand!"
"Hmm..." The Dragon King murmured, eyeing me with a look of contempt. "Are you trying to force my hand, or should I say claw?"
I stood tall, and I walked up to the dragon till we were just a foot from each other's eyes. Although he was bigger, stronger, and older, I had something he didn't have. The magic of the Creeper Queen.
"Well, I'm just trying to point out the better choice, you see." I said silkily. "You wouldn't want something unfortunate to happen, would you?"
The Dragon King growled. "Is that a threat I hear?" he hissed. "I've got an army with me right now, and I'm not afraid to kill another child of the Nether King."
"Are you threatening my kid?" I heard someone say behind me, and I looked around to see Herobrine glaring the Dragon King.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" I hissed under my breath. "I can handle this."
"Might as well keep an eye on you." Herobrine said quietly. "There was an attack on the Nether Fortress."
Before I could say anything about the attack, Herobrine had already teleported away. Unnerved, I looked to Angel for support. Magmar had stayed in the tunnel, afraid that the paradise the dragons roamed through would become an inferno if he laid a foot on the land.
"Well, wasn't that unprecedented.." the Dragon King muttered. "I'll strike a proposal with you. Whomever wants to join this emerging queen in the war will be able to join the army, but in return, you have to pay each dragon with treasure for their service."
"Give me a second to think about this and discuss with my peers." I said, turning to walk toward Angel.
As I walked toward Angel, I felt a claw press into my shoulder. I turned to see the Dragon King look at me fiercely, and the message was clear. Either take the offer or leave it.
"Fine, I'll accept your offer."I said knowing that without doubt, this was one more stupid things that I'd done. "Remember, even if I cannot guarantee your treasure, Notch is in charge of your fate and that won't be good for your welfare in the future."
"Hmph.." The Dragon King said reluctantly. "I suppose you're right. Perhaps I'll add in a little something for you. A once-in-a-lifetime deal. "
"And that would be?"
"One of my generals will be assisting you in your quest." The Dragon King said, smirking. "Would you like that?"
Although this wasn't exactly the offer I was looking for, I was more than willing to accept it.
"And, who'd this general be?" I asked.
"Well, I suppose PUNisher should be arriving any moment." The Dragon King said, smirking.
"Ugh...Was that what I think it was..." Angel said, groaning internally. "If it weren't for the fact that I knew my dad was dead, I swear that this would be him."
"Heh." I said. "I wonder.."
A battle-scarred dragon padded toward us, holding his wings up regally. It was almost at though he was a king, but then.. the Dragon King was already in front of us..wasn't he?
The dragon approaching us was covered in scars, but the most distinguishing thing was the scars of his wings, or the tattered remains. They hung limply, tattered shreds were all that remained of what should have been glorious wings.
"You called, Kolger?" the new dragon said, looking at the two of us intently. "And who are these two?"
"Oh, these two are trying to recruit us for their army in their squabble between Notch." Kolger said. "Nothing too important."
"I meant their names.." the new dragon said crossly. "I already overheard the mortals talking about this war."
"Oh, I'm Fawn." I said, bowing. "And this is my friend, Angel."
The new dragon took a step back, stiffening up. "Did-did you say Angel? Like, Angel Hodforn the Third, son of Jofur and Magerna?"
Angel looked at the new dragon nervously. "H-How do you know that?" he said, quivering.
The dragon looked at the two of us, and looked at Angel meaningfully. He bowed down on one knee, and snorted a puff of smoke, forming in the shape of a crown. The crown circled around Angel's head, and Angel looked down at the dragon in curiousity.
"Huh, I'm not royalty." Angel said, crossing his forelegs over one another. "If anything, the dragon in front of me is king."
"No, he's my brother." the dragon said, smiling. "He takes over this role, while I served as both a seasoned veteran as well as a military general. After all, I had to have a vengance for the humans who'd done this." the dragon said, gesturing to the tattered shreds of his wings. "My name is Jofur.."
Angel gasped, like a fish on land. I placed a hand on Angel's forearm, but he curled his tail around me in disbelief. That was when I noticed the markings on Angel's foreleg.
An emblem of a dragon holding a jewel was visible on Angel's foreleg, and on Jofur's leg, the same mark was visible, only more faded. That was when it hit me.
"My son and prince, you've returned..."
The lost prince was found.
~~~
Heh.
Yeah, Kayla's gonna have fun with this. So am I.
Should I make an alternate book, which includes what would have happened if a certain scene didn't occur?
Maybe..
