Chapter 7

Danny sat bored out of his mind with nothing to do but look at the same view he's seen thousands of times... Okay maybe not thousands, but still a lot! It's been fifty minutes up there, cut him some slack.

"I spy with my little eye an.... Island. Again," Danny said, talking to himself. There's not a lot to do up there when you're alone. "I'm going to make a clone real quick, and I don't know. Maybe talk to Mom we'd Dad as Phantom? It'll be better than this."  He focused before cloning himself, hoping that the clone didn't backfire while he was talking and suddenly zoom back into him while he was with his parents. That would be awkward if a clone of their son suddenly merged with the ghost boy. Not a conversation he felt like having.

He phased out of the crow's nest (he wondered if his dad had a ridiculous name to go with it and his mom just didn't say it... Probably), and flew down to the widow of the driver's room. His dad was feasting on victory fudge, while his mother on the other hand was paying very close attention to the coordinates the signature had given them, making sure the Speeder wouldn't stray from the directions. Such a responsible driver.

"Hi Mo-uhh Maddie! Jack!" Danny yelled, making his presence known, chuckling when he said his parents name. The Fenton's looked shocked at the sound of his voice, probably forgetting that there was a possibility of the Ghost boy being in the Ghost Zone.

"Phantom! Come on in and have some fudge!" Jack yelled as well, trying to get Danny to hear through the nearly sound proof glass. He forgot about the speakers.

"I'll pass on the fudge," Danny said, phasing into the driver's room with his parents. "Now tell me, what are two of the Earth's greatest hunters doing with a bunch of highschoolers in the Ghost Zone?"

"We're on a field trip!" Maddie announced, the excitement clear in her voice and evident on her face through wide eyes and a big smile. "Currently, we're trying to find Icelick!"

"... Who's Icelick?"

"The yeti ghost!"

... Oh it's going to be fun when Frostbite hears his new name. "Oh Icelick! Yeah, forgot. Whoops!"  Frostbite will be so confused. A thought ran through Danny's head. "How did you figure out that this is the flip side of Earth?"

The Fenton's squirmed in their seats, looking ashamed for what they were about to say. Jack looked to his wife, hoping that she could explain. Maddie instead kept her mouth in a tight this line and continued to keep her eyes glued to the green view. Sighing, knowing that he would have to explain this time, Jack put his victory fudge back onto his plate and looked to the ghost boy next to him. "We bugged you a very long time ago. We had made it to read your health status, and to record any visual and audio from around you. It was only to record during battles between us! Not to spy on whatever you I'd at other times. We used it when when you went into the zone during the Disasteroid incident to gain some information for later."

Danny was silent. He didn't hate his parents for this. If anything, he understood why they did it. They are still scientists. He just wonders how much they might have seen that could lead to his secret. "How much have you recorded?"

Maddie still refused to talk, so Jack continued on. "We first bugged you during the million dollar ghost incident. The bug is in your bloodstream, so when you don't use your powers, or they aren't in a dominant state, the bug won't record anything. We only have recordings for short periods of time for reasons we don't understand. Most recoding are from when we were hunting you, and all are only tuned into when you use the keywords phantom, spook, ecto, ectoplasm, or ghosts. We didn't record any personal conversations"

"Good."

The ride for the next few minutes became silent. The Far Frozen came into view, and Danny knew he would have to leave now if he wanted to get out before they reached the island.

"Well you're here. Maybe I'll check up on the Speeder again. Bye."  Danny phased out of the Speeder and merged with his clone. A minute or so later, he felt the Speeder stop moving, and climbed out of the Crow's nest. Joining up with Sam and Tucker, the three were the first other than Lancer and the Fentons to get off. They looked out at frozen wasteland in front of them, waiting for Frostbite while Maddie handed out jackets. A distant echo was soon heard from the inland.

Lancer looked up at the sound of the echo, yelling back himself. "Hello? Can you help us?"  The students were cold, very cold, some of them even turning blue, like Paulina. While Lancer kept yelling for help, desperate for a place to warm up, Paulina was complaining to her friend, Star.

"My fingers are blue, and my skin is like, bumpy from the cold!" Paulina screeched, ever the idiot. Star, ever the follower to her friend, added in, "And our flats are totally getting soaked!"  They continued to cry on about their misfortune, until the echo was finally distinguishable.

"Hello, humans! Welcome to the Far Frozen!"  Who had first been blending with the pure white snow, a ghost in a blue, ripped cloak was made out as it came closer.

Maddie and Jack were giddy with excitement and anticipation of the Ghost's coming, knowing this was one of the Ghost boy's many allies. Jack, hardly phased by the cold and snow, walked a bit closer to the ghost that had finally reached them. He stuck out his hand in greeting and in his usual loud but cheery voice, said, "Icelick! Nice to finally meet you! I'm Jack Fenton!"

Frostbite, who had been shaking Jack's hand with his non-ice claw, looked to the big man confusion. "Who is this Icelick you speak of?"  The yeti asked, unsure if he had heard the man in orange wrong, if he was talking to someone else, or if he meant him.

Maddie, who had gone to stand near her husband, realized right away that Icelick was actually not actually the Ghost's name, and turned red in embarrassment. "Sorry! We didn't realize that Icelick wasn't your name! We've never formally introduced ourselves!"  Maddie rushed out, hoping that the ghost wouldn't become angry with them for messing up his name.

"Do not worry over simple mistakes! I am Frostbite! Leader of those that reside here in the Far Frozen."  The yeti exclaimed, shocking Maddie with a smile and a laugh, instead of a growl like other ghosts. There really are good ghosts. Shaking her head slightly to get out of her thoughts, the ghost hunter introduced herself. When Frostbite's eyes met the trio's, the yeti was sure to talk like he never knew them, and treated them no differently in introductions.

"Follow me. You must all be so cold. We can talk as we walk. My village is only a few minutes walk from here. My people can come to pick it up and refuel your ship," Frostbite spoke, many students sighing with relief that there will be somewhere warmer than where they were now. "How are you enjoying your time in the Ghost Zone? Any questions?"

When Frostbite asked that simple question, Mark's eyes widened and he immediately asked, "What was that beam of light that came from that direction?" pointing to the direction of Pariah's Keep, even though he didn't quite know the name, or see the Keep itself. He only saw a light, and he knew that it wasn't a good light. Frostbite knew that as well, and everyone saw the worry in his eyes as he turned around at speeds fast enough to give a regular human whiplash.

"Which direction? Tell me! This is vital information!" The yeti stomped his way over to the Junior and put his giant paws on the boy's shoulders. Ethan timidly pointed in the direction that his friend had seconds ago been pointing to, his friend to scared at the close proximity of the angry ghost.

Frostbite backed away while looking in the direction of the Keep before breaking out into a full out run. The class, Fentons, and Lancer tried to sprint through the snow to keep up, desperate to not lose their guide.

Not even out of breath when he finally reached a house like hut surrounded by other buildings of the same type, Frostbite turned to the class with a relaxed face. "Do not let this affect your trip. We will summon the Great One for a short meeting to determine how serious the situation is. Please make yourself at home here," the yeti spoke with a calm, yet commanding voice, telling most of the students that while still trying to remain calm in the eyes of the class, the yeti was prepared to start planning a war. It didn't quite scare the students thought. What truly made them panic, was that the Great One, whom they assumed was Danny Phantom, was needed because of a simple beam of light, and a single thought ran through the students', Fentons, and Lancer's head: Is it that serious that Phantom is needed? Even Frostbite's words that were filled with words of reassurance would not calm the freezing students. They may forget what they were worried about later, but for know, their lives could be at risk. Frostbite walked away, leaving them outside of the hut in the snow.

Dash looked to Mark in worry and anger, fuming like a cartoon character. "Why did you have to say anything? What if it's just some lame ghost? Like the Box Ghost!"

Somewhere far away

"Someone has insulted my powers! They will feel my wrath!"

Back to idiot Dash

"Well so what if I told them? Maybe it's dangerous and I might have just saved us from certain death!" Mark looked offended that Dash thought he was ruining the trip.

Danny choose now as the time to interfere, before things actually get serious. It wasn't even a serious topic, Dash was probably just cold and wanted warmth. Frostbite didn't exactly let them in the house with the fireplace that everyone knew was there, because of the obvious chimney. "Dash, he didn't do anything wrong! He did the smart thing! Which you would realize if you were smart yourself!"  Okay that admittedly not the smartest thing to say when Dash was still 'stronger' than Danny, and he was the school freak and loser. Hey, but he needed to stop the argument, get his class into the house hut, and find Frostbite.

"Stay out of this Fenturd! You don't know any better yourself!" Dash yelled, somewhat afraid of punishment from the Fentons if he were to hit the 'loser'. Lancer had been trying to open the door in the meantime, letting the Fentons watch the class, and finally found the key. Under the doormat. Flaming cupcakes. He opened the door, took a quick peek inside, and turning around to see the three close boys, he spoke up immediately. "Come in class. There is a fireplace in here that you can all warm up by."

Dash, who had been further from the door, purposely pushed Danny and Mark while walking by. Mark simply nodded his head in thanks, and walked in as well. Soon only the trio was out in the cold and Lancer, who had been holding the door, beckoned them in. Danny only shook his head, whispering, "I'll met you guys later. For now, just make sure my clone doesn't glitch."  First turning himself into Phantom, then splitting himself in half, Danny pushed his clone in Fenton form towards the teacher.

"Mr. Fenton! Where do you think you are going?" Mr. Anger whisper-yelled, not wanting anyone to accidentally hear the conversation from inside. Danny looked to the teacher with a look that told him all he needed to know. Lancer hadn't quite realized at first that Danny was the Great One. Frostbite said he will summon the Great One... Lancer sighed in defeat, knowing Danny needed to go. "We will try our best to keep your... clone, functional."

Danny smiled to his friends and flew off to a cave at a the base of a mountain almost out of their vision at what seemed to be neck breaking speeds. Sam, who had been holding Danny's hand before he left, looked in Danny's direction with longing while her hair was flying around her. She wished more than anything to be with her boyfriend instead of with the jocks, nerds, and neutrals of her class. Putting her usual Sam face of I-hate-my-class on, she walked in through the door, waiting at the threshold. She looked to the two men, asking, "Are you coming in or not? Everyone's going to get suspicious," and walked all the way in.

--------------------------------

In the cave Danny saw Frostbite and a few other citizens of the Far Frozen, but someone that surprised him was no other than his true clone, even though they considered themselves more like cousins...

"Dani!" Danny screeched like an inhuman being, much like any fan girl when they see their OTPs or something. The younger and shorter girl turned from the yeti she had been talking to and looked towards the sound of her cousin's voice. The moment their eyes met they flew to each other to met in the middle of the room in a great big hug. Laughing filled the room and soon Frostbite entered the cave from another room.

"I see you have reunited with your cousin. She came to train with her own ice powers when news came of your coming. And speaking of of news..." Frostbite's voice droned off, soon replaced by the squeaky voice yipping, "Master! Master! I delivered your message! Are you proud Master?"

Little Bob ran out from behind Frostbite's leg, running up to Danny and jumping into his hand. Danny chuckled and scratched the little dog's head. "You have done perfect, Little Bob! Okay, so let's get this show on the road!"

Everyone was in the cave by now, and everyone gathered around a fire in the middle of the room. There were no chairs so everyone either floated or stood. Frostbite was closest to the fire and Danny stood floated next to him. Raising his arms, Frostbite spoke in a booming voice, "A foe we all despise may have escaped his fate.  A reported beam of light has been seen shooting out from no other than Pariah's Keep." A collection of gasps from those who hadn't already been informed filled the room. "The Great One will be scouting the Keep to assure that he has not escaped, and that nothing has been taken."

Danny began to nod his head in agreement before actually processing Marshmallow's words. His eyes opened in realization and his jaw dropped. "Wait, I'm going? Of course. The privileges of being the Great One."

Many yetis nodded their heads at the plan and Frostbite leaned over to nearby ghost to whisper, "Prepare the emergency first aid kit," before standing back up straight again and announcing, "He will leave right away, and shall arrive perfectly safe within a few hours with the news that all is well."

A thermos was shoved into Danny's arms, and he looked to Dani in help. All she good offer was a shrug and the words, "I'll still be here when you get back. Now go kick evil ghost butt!" A strong looking yeti that rivaled Frostbite in height picked up Danny and chucked him a good one-hundred yards before Danny was able to slow down enough to gain control to fly on his own.
