Genjutsu had always been your weakness. Without Chakra, you couldn't pull yourself out of it, but you hadn't known that you'd been trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. You had already been asleep. Therefore, you had simply believed that it was a dream you were in. A lucid dream. You woke up in your dad's house to him, making breakfast rice and cod with Hizuki. You could tell they were happy, even from your room, as you got ready for the day. You usually weren't one to wear a dress, especially being a shinobi, but today was the exception as you put on a decent bright red dress for a date with your mate. You styled your hair and applied makeup to your liking before you padded out to begin your day. "Good morning, [Y/N]." Kakashi greeted. "You look beautiful, [Y/N]..." Hizuki gently moved a little hair to tuck it behind your ear. "Gaara will love it..." Your tail wagged at her words, and you gave them a fanged smile. "I sure hope so!" You sat down as your dad dished you out some food. "He will. Gaara loves you, no matter how you look."

You left the house feeling great! The food had been amazing, the conversation light, and on top of that, Sans had called you saying he had something to give you. He really didn't have to. You loved your biological father with all your soul, but it was nice, regardless. You took a shortcut to his apartment and knocked. As soon as Sans answered, you were hit with an unbearable grief, and nostalgia that sent you into tears. You didn't even know why. You surely had just seen him yesterday, right? "[Y/N]-? what's wrong, little pup..?" Sans held you close and pet you, reassuring you that everything would be alright. You picked him up and clung to him as you cried your eyes out. The two of you stayed like that until you couldn't cry anymore. "hey... what's the matter? your soul's in distress?" You sniffled as you put him down. "I missed you, I guess..." You mumbled. "i missed you too, [N/N]... and, uh, here... for you and gaara... they were mine and your mom's rings when we were... i want you two to have them..." One ring was a simple golden band with forever engraved in it. The other was a silver band with a golden yellow gem. "Dad... thank you, I love them..."

You were more reluctant to leave him, but you and Naruto still had to meet up before your date, so you headed to his favorite spot at the academy. He was already at the old swing when you shortcut there, his happy go lucky smile plastered to his face. "Hey, hey! [Y/N]! I got big news!" You smiled back as you walked over, your tail swaying with your movements. "Oh yeah? And what's that?" You asked as the two of you fistbumped. "The elders decided that they want me to be the next Hokage! Can you believe it?! It's finally happening!" You gasped excitedly and hugged your bestie as he laughed and hugged back. Your tail wagged a mile a minute as you started to spit out praises almost as fast. "I knew you could do it! I always believed you could! I'm so proud of you, Naruto!" You both savored the moment a little longer before he pulled away. "You've always been there for me, [Y/N], thank you so much... now it's my turn to support you. Go, have fun with Gaara..."

So that's what you did. You met him at the inn he was staying at. Gaara was in a black tux with a golden tie, which made you chuckle. "Wearing my color? It's not bad on you..." Gaara gave you a small smile and offered you his hand. "And you look beautiful in my color..." He replied as he lead you away to a curry shop. You had thought to go to the BBQ shop, but you wanted it to be just the two of you, not you two and team 10. Besides, you wanted to know Gaara's likes. You both ordered Tikka Masala curry and dango as you talked. "Have you given any thought to my proposal, [Y/N]?" Gaara asked. "I have..." You replied slowly. "I want to go home with you, Gaara, but I want to see Naruto become Hokage first, and I need to tell my parents and pack-" He placed a hand on yours. "It's no rush... I'm just glad you accepted." You rumbled happily before you remembered the rings. "Oh wait, I have something for you-"  You pulled them out to show to Gaara.

You gasped and scrambled away from grabbing hands with a snarl. You didn't understand, you were just with Gaara, what was this-? "Lord Third?" You recognized Hiruzen as the one who had been holding your shoulders. "I can't believe that actually worked..." Lord Hashirama muttered as the other Hokage watched on from behind the elder Hokage. "I thought it might." Hiruzen replied as you tried to make sense of what was going on. "She doesn't have Chakra like everyone else, so the Divine Tree didn't need her. That's why she was the only choice." The war- Naruto- "Where is Naruto?! And Gaara-? And everyone else?! What's happening?!" You bristled up as you saw all the hanging, wrapped up bodies. Your friend and mate was nowhere in your radar. "Everyone was caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, [Y/N]." You looked up at the moon, bright white with the Rinne Sharingan's tomoe reflected upon it. "And Naruto is fighting Kaguya Otsutsuki with Obito and the rest of team 7... they will need you when they return though." You calmed a little, but was still highly confused. "Ok, but... I'm gonna need you to fill me in on everything..." You requested. The Hokage were more than happy to oblige you.
