Cameron and I have been dating for quite a long time. All throughout highschool, we were together. We went on our first date, it was romantic and amazing. We went on many dates after that, too. Cameron and his brother eventually made up -- of course, after his brother broke up with Allie. His brother and I are on good terms, I guess you would say.

Allie moved as far as she could, and she left her best friend, Emily alone. Emily and I are close friends now. Surprising, I know. "Era!" Emily calls my name from the living room. "Are you ready?"

Today was my birthday and I was nervous, I was turning 19. I've been taking online courses and so has Cameron. We didn't want to be away from each other.

Emily was driving me because I don't have a car yet. Cameron was at the restaurant, so was Nate. Nate was Emily's boyfriend, I introduced the two of them and they hit it off pretty well.

"Yeah, I'm ready." I press my lips together, looking at my reflection. I wore a knee length dress with my hair in low curls. I walk downstairs and Emily smiles at me. "You look gorgeous." She compliments me.

"So do you," I reply and we climb into her car.

"Happy birthday.... again!" Emily says as we arrive at the restaurant.

"How many times have you wished me a happy birthday?" I grinned at her as we headed inside.

"Maybe about a million times, no biggie." She shrugs, bumping shoulders with mine.

"Era, Emily! You finally made it!" Nate greets us.

At the sound of his greeting, Cameron looks up at us both. His eyes bore into mine. He was wearing a button up shirt with dark jeans, his hair was styled. Overall, he looked hot. He smiles at me and walks over to me. He holds out his arms for a hug. His arms are warm and inviting and he smells so nice. "Happy birthday, Era." he whispers lowly in my ear. "You look stunning." Goosebumps rise on my skin.

I mutter a thanks.

"How does it feel to be nineteen?" Nate asks me when I sit down.

"I don't feel any different," I smile, shrugging.

"Hello," a young waitress greets us, "I'm Amanda. I'll be your server tonight. What would you guys like to start off with as a drink?"

"Sun Drop, please." Emily tell Amanda.

"Coke."

"Dr. Pepper." Both Cameron and I say at the same time. We glance at each other, him smiling and me blushing.

"Ok, I'll go get the drinks." Amanda leaves.

Cameron takes my hand in his, smiling lightly.

"So guys," Nate said, "I hope the movie we are going to go see is good."

"I do too." I agreed. Amanda came back and we ordered our food. We talked and laughed, we had fun.

The movie was great, too. It was funny and I was happy just hanging with my friends (and hot boyfriend). I actually couldn't get over the fact that we were dating, I was thrilled.

"As much as I'd love to hang more with you guys, I need to go home." Emily says, looking at all of us.

"Aww, okay. You were my ride, so aren't I going with you?" I ask her.

"No, Cameron can drive you. Right?" Nate said and walked over to Emily.

"Right." Cameron nods his head.

"Emily will be driving me home, so bye guys!" Nate waves at us both before they both walk away.

Cameron and I stand beside each other for a few minutes. I glance at him, shifting from foot to foot. "Eh..so.."

"Wanna go for a walk?" he asks, taking my hand in his.

I nod my head. We walk for a little while, and it's silent. I don't know what to say, and neither does he. Suddenly, he stops. We are both standing under a big tree.

"Era...look," he looks down at his feet, shoving his hands in his pockets. He's nervous. Why is he nervous? "I don't know how to say this . . . ,"

Is he breaking up with me?

"I'm uh... not really good with romantic stuff, but I just want you to know that I l--love you. This may seem too soon, if it is tell me, but Era...," he gets on one knee and my mouth falls open, "will you marry me?" He shows me this plastic ring. "I, um, kinda don't have the money for a real ring, but I already have the ring picked out and I've been working more hours to be paid a little more so I can get you the perfect ring and I --" he was rambling, so I stopped him and hugged him.

"Cameron!" I exclaim when he stands up, picking me up and swinging me in the process.

"Is that a yes?" he asks in my ear.

I jump down from his arms. Looking down and away from him, I shake my head. "Cameron, you're a sweet guy and all... but I'm in love with Nate. I'm sorry."

"W -- What?" He says, staring at me. I look up at him, smiling and I burst into laughter.

"I'm kidding!" I laugh, hugging him again.

"You're a jerk." he mumbled in my hair. He pecks my lips with his.

"I know."

He sighs, looking into my eyes. "I love you."

I smile, happy tears filling my eyes. "I love you too."

Then, I kiss him.
