Epilogue
Epilogue
Rose sighed happily as she followed the Doctor into the TARDIS. The Doctor threw his coat aside and raced up to the console. He whipped around, grinning maniacally.
"So, where to next?" he asked with an impish grin.
Rose smiled back. "I don't know much about the Wright Brothers . . . ."
The Doctor blanched. "Don't you dare," he said furiously.
"Alright, alright," Rose laughed. "How about the Caribbean? It'd be wonderful to relax with a nice, long swim."
"Brilliant!" exclaimed the Doctor. "Allons-y!"
He darted around the central console, flicking levers and pushing buttons. Rose grabbed onto the railing as the TARDIS suddenly pitched to one side. A loud pop came from the console, accompanied by a cloud of smoke and sparks. The Doctor dashed to the site of the miniature explosion. As he attempted to sonic the damaged area, the TARDIS began to wheeze and groan.
"She's landing," called out Rose.
"Yes, I know she's landing," muttered the Doctor. "Electro-magnetic emergency circuits . . . immediate emergency protocol . . . got to land before any of the platypuses get out . . . ."
As the TARDIS shuddered to a halt, Rose approached the door and tentatively pulled it open. She didn't know what she had been expecting, but this definitely wasn't it. She burst out laughing and turned back around to see the Doctor.
"You won't believe where we've landed!" Rose giggled.
"Oh, not another Kiss concert," moaned the Doctor.
"Nope."
"Ah, it's fixed! Bellissima!" exclaimed the Doctor happily. He tucked away his sonic and dusted off his hands. "We're back in perfect working order! Ready to go!"
"Doctor, you have to see this," enthused Rose, tongue pressed against her teeth as she gestured with her thumb over her shoulder.
The Doctor raced around the console and joined her at the TARDIS doors. His jaw slackened and his face turned quickly from puce to white before settling on an unpleasant shade of green. He stared out at the nondescript airport tarmac in horror.
Rose smirked and was about to say something when the Doctor collapsed onto the TARDIS floor.
"Rassilon, I've gone into partial cardiac arrest!" he agonized.
"How are you still talking to me?!" Rose asked.
"It's only one heart! Quick, get me -" the Doctor began. He was interrupted when Rose whacked his shin with all the force she could muster.
"Ouch! What was that for?" yelped the exasperated Doctor.
"You said anywhere!"
"What?"
"'A good, hard, whack, anywhere really,' you said," said Rose.
"Oh, that! Oh, I should have known . . . ."
"What should you have known?"
"That wasn't real, I was just trying to get rid of that annoying Texan for you!"
Rose froze. "What do I do, then!" she yelled.
"Get a defibrillator! It's in the TARDIS medical room!" screamed the Doctor.
As Rose raced to the TARDIS medical room, the TARDIS doors swung shut of their own accord. From deep in the centre of the ancient time machine came a barely perceptible chuckle.
freeze frame, fade out, end credits
Ah, it's finally done! Yay! I knew this piece needed something else. I'm sorry I've been gone so long, various things have happened. However, I'm hoping to write something else soon. If I ever get around to it, that is. Thanks for reading and bearing with me!
