I suggest skimming or even rereading the previous chapter if you forgot everything that's going on in this book.

Nomis's Point of View
Nomis had been walking for what seemed like a long time. She wasn't keeping track. She was focusing on one thing—getting to Steve.
She knew he needed her help. She could feel it inside her.
The teleportation potion had taken her to the wrong place. Nomis had appeared near the ruins of New Block City. She was now walking through the dark towards Herobrine's lair.
Nomis could feel herself getting older. She wasn't sure if she would make it to Steve before she died.
But she had to save him. She loved him.
Nomis crossed over a hill. Everything was dead. There were no monsters around, even though it was night time.
She clutched the two potions in her hands as she walked. They were both extremely important for Steve's survival.
Herobrine's lair was still nowhere to be seen.

Mojang Park
Narrator's Point of View
Secret jolted upright, gasping for breath. The last thing he remembered was blacking out after Pixel rescued him from a giant and a fallen billboard.
He took in his surroundings. Pixel had laid him down on a bench in Mojang Park. Below his bench was NinjaX, who seemed to be in pain. Audrey was also nearby, playing with a flower for some reason.
All around the park, the rest of the Resistance members were battling mutant monsters. And it didn't look like the Resistance was winning.
Secret could instantly tell why. Each Resistance member was trying to do their own thing against the mutants. They weren't working together.
Shifting his legs was a bad idea. Secret groaned in pain and kept them where they were. Since he couldn't get up, he had to yell.
He rummaged through his belt and found one of his homemade potions. He drank it, then bellowed in a much louder and deeper voice than normal:
"Resistance! Form a circle around Secret on the bench! We need to work together to defeat these mutants! We're a team!"
Almost all of the Resistance members looked in Secret's direction and understood.
Hero didn't listen. She was still crying in the crater, holding Matster's lifeless body. It was a miracle that a mutant hadn't killed her yet.
Mimi heard Secret, but wasn't sure she wanted to move. The rest of the Resistance members were retreating to the bench, leaving the mutants to roam free.
Mimi brought her head back down to her knees. Something was building up inside of her.
She felt something nudge her leg. Mimi looked up. Bomby was gesturing towards a nearby crater with his tiny head.
Mimi didn't see anything special about the crater, except for the fact that the mutant Zombie was charging towards it.
But wait. Why would it be charging at that specific crater?
Mimi saw a flash of blonde movement from inside the crater. Without thinking, she jumped to her feet and ran.
The Zombie looked like it would reach the crater first. Mimi ran as hard as she possibly could.
Hero was huddled inside the crater, her back to the Zombie. Mimi was running perpendicular to the Zombie's path, hoping to reach Hero first.
Mimi slid across the grass and into the hole. She grabbed Hero, causing her to let go of Matster's body, and leapt out the other side of the crater just as the Zombie entered it to her left.
She heard the mutant Zombie slamming into the dirt in the crater behind them. Mimi picked Hero up and raced to the bench with the rest of the Resistance. Hero's eyes were red from crying, but she was silent now, possibly in shock.
"Is this everyone?" Secret asked Drew as Mimi and Hero joined the circle. Drew nodded. Diamond, Crystal, K.G, Chick, Grand, Pete, Shine, Cyril, Pixel, Mimi, Audrey, and Drew stood in a circle around the bench with Secret. Lying on the ground in the circle were the unconscious Tre and Claire, the crying Hero, and the bleeding X.
The five mutants spread out around the border of the circle, preparing to attack.
"Steady," Secret told the Resistance. "We need to work together to beat these mutants. Use each other's strengths."
The five mutants charged at the circle of Resistance members. Secret found a potion of regeneration in his belt and splashed it in the middle of the circle, giving everyone regeneration.
The mutant Snow Golem chucked a block of ice at them as it charged. Chick raised her bow and fired an arrow at the ice, shattering it before it reached the circle of the Resistance.
Grand then stopped the Golem from invading their circle by slicing its pumpkin head with his diamond hoe. The Golem roared and tried to smash a chunk of ice on him.
But, Pete shot the ice block out of its arms with his bow, then shot another arrow into the mutant's eye. The Snow Golem roared snow out of its mouth and stumbled backwards.
The mutant Zombie had leapt into the air, aiming to land in the midst of their circle. K.G, who had picked up Techno's fallen redstone bazooka, fired it at the Zombie, sending it falling to the ground outside of the circle.
It snarled and stood, charging for K.G. He took a deep breath, ready to finally battle the thing that had broken his ribs in the ruins of New Block City all that time ago. The Zombie swung its arms as K.G swung his obsidian sword, and they collided. The Zombie was stronger, and pushed K.G backwards into the circle. K.G yelled and used all his strength to push against it.
He was starting to get somewhere when it suddenly became a lot easier. That was because someone had stabbed it with a diamond dagger from below. Tre had regained consciousness, and threw his diamond dagger at the Zombie's stomach, causing it to lose its strength. K.G grinned at Tre and managed to push the Zombie out of their circle. Tre could barely move, because the Zombie had also broken several of his ribs.
NinjaX was on the ground as well, although his ribs weren't broken. He had a stab wound from the mutant Skeleton's arrows in his back. Speaking of the Skeleton, it shot six arrows at the same time towards the circle. Three of the arrows flew wide, but the other three hurtled towards the Resistance circle. X threw his two iron daggers at two of the arrows, saving K.G and Pete from being hit. Someone else took care of the last arrow.
That someone else was Pixel, who had heard the large arrow sailing towards their circle. He then aimed his bow at the mutant Skeleton that was preparing to fire again. He fired one arrow at it, then loaded another one without pause. The Skeleton charged forwards, but Pixel fired arrow after arrow at it, slowing its approach.
The mutant Enderman screeched and chucked a block of dirt at the circle of Resistance. Cyril fired her bow at the block, knocking it out of the air. She then fired an arrow at the Enderman, but it teleported out of the way.
Shaina found a certain potion in her belt and tossed it at the Enderman. It splashed on it, and the Enderman screeched. It moved in slow motion, but only for a few seconds before the potion wore off. Before it wore off, however, Cyril was able to shoot the mutant with an arrow. The mutant Enderman disappeared and became six ghost Endermen. The six ghosts spread out around the circle and began to attack. Shine drew her emerald dagger and sliced through one of them, killing it.
Drew faced off against two ghost Endermen with his iron sword, and managed to slice them both out of existence. He saw a third creeping up on Diamond, who was busy with two others, and threw his iron sword at it. The blade went through the ghost, causing it to disappear, and the handle hit Diamond in the back. They were lucky it hadn't been the blade.
Diamond used his enchanted diamond sword versus the other two ghosts. They were easy to beat—a one hit K.O—and he sliced through the first one with ease. He felt something hit his back lightly, but didn't turn around. The last ghost almost managed to strike Diamond, but he ducked and sliced through it with Undead's Fear. The ghost then turned into the mutant Enderman and teleported back away from the circle.
The mutant Creeper wasn't coming towards the circle. It produced a large group of spawn, and the baby Creepers marched towards the Resistance. Crystal prepared herself to protect Claire, who had already been knocked unconscious by those babies earlier. As the Creepers came closer, Crystal brandished her iron sword, then swung. She managed to kill two, but the rest began to spread out and infiltrate the circle.
Mimi was on the ground with Hero, comforting her as she stared at something in the distance, unmoving. Mimi's eyes widened as she saw baby Creepers making their way into the circle, unnoticed by the Resistance members because they were so small. Mimi couldn't let them explode. They'd harm all of them. She knew it was time for her to actually use the feeling that was building up inside of her.
Mimi got out the diamond axe she had recently begun using and stood up. The baby Creepers were about to explode, but she killed all four that she had seen in the blink of an eye. Mimi sat back down near Hero, who seemed to be staring intently at something.
Audrey was leaning against the bench, humming. Her eyes began to close.
Then, they snapped open. Audrey looked around frantically, unsure of what was going on. The Resistance was battling something in a circle. X was on the ground in front of her. A baby Creeper was about to explode on him. Audrey swept it away with her enchanted diamond sword. X looked at her groggily.
"What is going on?" Audrey asked.
"You're back," X sighed in relief as he realized the drugs wore off her. "You have a lot of catching up to do."
Secret couldn't move his legs, but he could still watch what was happening. Baby Creepers had infiltrated the circle of Resistance members, but all of them except one had been killed before they exploded. The last one was flashing white near the unconscious Claire, unnoticed by Crystal. Secret whipped a potion out of his belt and threw it at the Creeper, killing it instantly.
"This is how a team should be!" Secret shouted as the Resistance continued to battled the mutants. "Working together!"
Bomby tapped Mimi on the knee with its head. She looked at the baby Creeper. It ate some gunpowder off the ground.
Mimi remembered when she had found Bomby in the factory in the city, eating a barrel of gunpowder. That powder had increased the strength of his explosion, and easily killed an entire giant. If Bomby consumed more gunpowder now, his explosion could be strong again, and he could kill the mutants. And he wouldn't die, because he could explode multiple times without killing himself, like the mutant Creeper.
Mimi fished gunpowder out of her inventory and fed it to Bomby. He nodded at her after eating it, then walked out of the circle, towards the mutant Creeper.
Mimi realized what Bomby was about to do. Once the Creeper was killed, it would begin to pull everything towards it, like it had done back in Creektown. It would hopefully take the other mutants with it, killing them all.
The mutant Creeper paid no attention to Bomby. It must have assumed that Bomby was one of its own. But that was not the case. Bomby began to flash white, then exploded on the mutant Creeper.
The Creeper froze. It then used its head to slap Bomby away. It wasn't dead yet, but it was very close to death. One more hit, and it would be killed.
Hero was staring intently at the mutant Creeper. It had been the one to kill Matster. The boy that she loved. That green mutant took him from her. Hero was sad before, but now she was angry.
With a yell, Hero took out her iron sword and charged at the mutant Creeper. Mimi tried to grab her, but missed.
Hero leapt towards the injured mutant, iron sword raised. She then stabbed into the mutant Creeper's head with her sword as hard as she could.
The Creeper froze again. Then, it began to flash white. An invisible force began to pull everything towards it.
"Run!" Secret shouted.
Hero didn't want to run. She wanted to be with Matster. But, Mimi raced in, grabbed her, and pulled her away from the mutant.
The Resistance members began to run towards the center of the park, where the tree with Tyler had been. Pixel was carrying Secret, K.G was carrying Tre, Crystal was carrying Claire, and Audrey was carrying X.
The other four mutants didn't know what was happening, and were pulled towards the flashing Creeper. They tried to leap into the air to get away, but that just pulled them in even faster.
The mutant Enderman turned itself into six ghosts again. The six ghosts were immune to the wind, and began to attack the Resistance. One hit K.G, and he fell to the ground, dropping Tre. The pull began to drag the two towards the Creeper.
The Skeleton fired six arrows from near the Creeper. One of the arrows pierced Drew in the shoulder. He cried out in pain, and succumbed to the pull of the Creeper.
The Snow Golem chucked an ice block, and it hit Shine in the back of the head. She also began to be pulled by the Creeper.
Mimi saw all this happening. She couldn't believe the Creeper was going to kill all her friends with an explosion. She was angry.
"Take her!" Mimi yelled at Chick. Chick grabbed Hero's arm and kept running. Hero then pulled out her diamond axe and charged at the six ghost Endermen.
Mimi sliced through each one with ease, enraged. She was not going to let her friends get hurt by mutants anymore. An ice block sailed towards them, but Mimi struck it out of the air with her axe. She continued to destroy anything in their path.
Pete picked Tre up and ran, and K.G was able to get up. Shine and Drew were also able to overcome the pull and run to the center of the park, where the garden was.
"Wait, guys!" K.G shouted as they arrived in the garden. "The Zombie! It only fully dies if it's burned to death, remember?"
"It's just gonna come back to life after the explosion," Secret realized. "Does anyone have flint and steel?"
Mimi arrived in the garden with the rest of the Resistance after killing the ghost Endermen. The four mutants were too far away to do anything to the Resistance now. They were trapped by the Creeper's pull.
Diamond pulled some flint and steel out of his inventory. "I will go." He began to step out of the garden.
"Diamond, stop. That Creeper is going to explode soon. There are other ways to set the Zombie on fire," Drew protested.
Diamond held out a hand. "I already caused the death of one of our friends. Let me do this."
Drew looked around at the rest of the Resistance members, who were clinging to items in the garden to avoid being pulled towards the Creeper. They weren't saying anything about it. Drew shook his head, ignoring the pain in his shoulder. "I won't let you. Just because Hayden is dead doesn't mean you have to die, too."
Diamond smiled at him. "Thank you for being a good friend, Drew." He then began to run towards the mutant Zombie.
"Diamond!" Drew was about to run after him, but Mimi grabbed his arm to stop him. "I have a better idea." She whistled.
Bomby heard the whistle and ran towards Diamond. He made a small explosion underneath him. The flint and steel fell out of Diamond's hands, and he flew back into the garden with the Resistance. Drew grabbed onto him so he couldn't go anywhere.
Bomby then grabbed the flint and steel and set himself on fire. Mimi stared at her baby Creeper as it let itself be pulled into the mutants.
The mutant Creeper exploded, taking the four mutants and Bomby with it. Fire engulfed the explosion, burning the mutant Zombie's body.
All five mutants were dead.
The smoke cleared, and Bomby was nowhere to be seen. He sacrificed himself to kill the mutants. Mimi let a single tear drip from her eye.
Diamond looked up at Drew. Drew smiled at him. "Good friends don't let each other die."
Secret stood up. "Well, Resistance."
"We did it."

Steve's Point of View
Steve groaned in pain as he slid to the ground against the wall, diamond chestplate cracked in half. Herobrine's lightning bolt had been particularly powerful as it hit him. Luckily Steve had that chestplate, or he'd be dead right now.
But now it was broken. If Herobrine hit him with lightning one more time, he'd be dead.
Speaking of which, Jay was barely dodging and blocking Herobrine's rapid lightning blasts, and he didn't have a chestplate. Herobrine grunted loudly with each bolt thrown out of his hands, but that didn't stop him from throwing one every few seconds.
Jay was concentrating hard and moving very fast. He jumped and ducked and sidestepped every bolt he could, and blocked every bolt he couldn't with his axe. Even so, Steve could tell he was having difficulties. He had to do something before Jay was killed.
Steve staggered to his feet. He was almost immediately beheaded by a flying block of stone. The wind was getting really intense.
Herobrine's back was to him, but the wind was blowing towards Steve. It was difficult to push through it. Steve stumbled several times as he walked.
Time to end this.
***
Narrator's Point of View
Kat made it to the bottom of the stairs. She was immediately hit by brutal wind. Peering around the corner, she saw an intense battle.
Jay was barely dodging lightning bolt after lightning bolt fired by Herobrine, who was floating ten blocks in the air. Steve was staggering through the wind towards Herobrine from behind. Kirai was...
Where's Kirai? Kat wondered frantically. Then she realized Kirai was on the wall adjacent to the one that Kat was near. Kirai seemed to be regaining her senses after a hard hit.
Kat looked at the potion in her hands. If they got the ingredients correct, this potion would kill Herobrine. She just had to splash it on him.
Suddenly, a sharp pain exploded in her head as something collided with it. Kat fell to the ground, barely managing to keep the potion from breaking.
She realized that a flying stone block had hit her. Spots danced in her vision, and when she stood up, she was dizzy.
I can't throw the potion at Herobrine like this, Kat thought to herself.
But Kirai was nearby.
***
Jay jumped over another lightning bolt. He was exhausted, and wasn't sure how much longer he could keep this up. The electricity was causing the hairs on his arms and legs to stand up.
Herobrine was grunting with every lighting bolt he threw. Maybe that meant he was tired. Jay didn't know, and didn't really care at this point. Right now, he was focusing on staying alive. And that was it.
Jay ducked under another lightning bolt. As he stood back up, he saw one flying towards his face. He brought his axe up to block it, and it deflected off the diamond head and into the ground. Jay then jumped to his left to avoid another bolt.
As he jumped, he saw a flash of red against the wall. Kirai was moving again. This made Jay happy.
It also almost made Jay a dead man.
As he glanced at the wall, he realized Herobrine had shot another lightning bolt at him. Jay brought his axe up just in time, but the force sent the axe flying out of his hand and Jay skidding backwards. A flying stone block then hit him in the back of the leg, causing him to fall over.
Herobrine was about to strike Jay down on the spot, but something caused him to turn around. Jay sighed in relief.
***
"HEROBRINE!" Steve screamed, trying to save Jay's life.
Herobrine whirled around to glare at Steve. "What do you want?" His voice was perfectly clear even with all the wind.
"Don't kill him. It's me you want. Isn't it?" Steve asked. "Isn't that why you've caused all this pain and destruction?" He stabbed a Zombie that was ambling towards him in the gut, killing it.
Herobrine smirked. "You are in the way, yes, but you are not what I'm here for. I am here to destroy Minecraftia. You are the only one who can stop me, so I must destroy you first."
Steve was confused. "How am I the only one who can stop you?"
"Because you are related to me."
Steve felt like everything froze around him. He was related to Herobrine? That monster?
"H-how?" Steve stammered.
"Your father, Steven, was my brother," Herobrine replied. "Before he betrayed me fifty years ago and killed me. Now you, his son, are the only one who can do the same."
Thoughts flew through Steve's mind at the speed of light. I'm Herobrine's nephew? I thought Notch killed Herobrine, not my father? Does this mean I have to be the one to splash the potion on Herobrine? Will we even get the potion before we die?
"I guess I better finish what he started, then," Steve yelled through the wind.
Herobrine simply chuckled. "You may try."
With that, Herobrine raised his sword and shot lightning at Steve. Steve brought his sword up to absorb the electricity, and the lightning bounced between the two blades.
Steve knew if he let go of his sword, the electricity would kill him. But it was becoming more powerful as Herobrine put all his strength into it. Steve began to yell as he struggled to hold his sword in place.
***
Kirai's entire body hurt. She could barely stand without falling over. A Zombie tried to strike her, and Kirai barely managed to bring her sword up to kill it.
She had seen Herobrine almost kill Jay. Luckily, Steve distracted him. Kirai would have run over to her boyfriend, but she didn't feel like she could move from her position.
"Kirai!"
That was strange. That voice didn't sound like it belonged to Jay or Steve, and they were the only three in the cavern besides Herobrine. So who was—?
"Kirai!!"
Kirai's whipped her head around. Standing by the corner, holding her head with one hand and a potion with the other, was Kat.
"Kat?!" Kirai exclaimed. Was she hallucinating?
"I can't splash this on Herobrine! You do it!" Without further warning, Kat tossed the potion she was holding towards Kirai.
At first, Kirai was going to let it smash on the ground. What was so important about a potion anyway?
But then she realized. It was the potion. Herobrine's Destruction. They must have made the potion back in Creektown after Kirai and the others disappeared.
Kirai stumbled forward and just barely caught the potion. She looked up, but Kat was already gone.
I can't throw this at Herobrine! Kirai thought. I'll miss!
Herobrine and Steve began to exchange lightning between their blades. Kirai saw a perfect opportunity.
"JAY!" Kirai screamed, and she chucked the potion high into the air between Herobrine and Jay.
Jay had just stood up, but he somehow realized what was happening right away. He sprinted forwards and leapt into the air.
He caught the potion as he ascended and continued to sail towards Herobrine, who was facing the other direction, blocking electricity from Steve. Jay smashed the potion on Herobrine as if it were a slam dunk in basketball.
***
As soon as the potion splashed on Herobrine, a pulse exploded out of him, sending everything around him flying backwards. The wind stopped, the Zombies disappeared, the stone fell to the ground, and Herobrine landed on his knees. His sword clattered a few blocks away from him.
Steve was thrown by the pulse, and he hit the stone wall again, hard. Jay hit the wall opposite Steve, and Kirai hit the one joining their two walls. Kat was sent flying into the stairwell.
Herobrine began to yell in pain. As soon as he did, it seemed like the entire world began to rumble. The wind picked up again. Cracks formed in the already split stone. But it wasn't just the floor that cracked, the walls began to crack as well. The ceiling wasn't visible from the ground, but it was no doubt splitting, too.
This was not going to end well.
Herobrine began to stand up as he yelled. His voice reverberated throughout the entire cavern.
"Why isn't he dying?!" Jay shouted from across the room.
"I don't know!" Kirai yelled back. "Do you think they made the wrong potion?"
"No! I think I had to be the one to splash the potion on him!" Steve shouted. "I'm related by blood!"
"Why didn't you tell me that before I threw it?!" Kirai screamed.
"I WAS BUSY!" Steve yelled.
The stone began to shift beneath them. The cracks started to widen. Lava bubbled somewhere below. Chunks of stone began to hit the ground from above.
We need to get out of here, Steve thought.
***
Kat groaned in the stairwell. She hit her already aching head on the stone when she was thrown in there.
Suddenly, she heard a loud crack from above. Kat looked up.
The stone above her was cracking.
Before she could move, part of the ceiling collapsed. It covered the only entrance into the cavern. Hopefully there was another way out.
But the crack didn't stop there. It continued to spread throughout the entire ceiling above the staircase.
Despite her throbbing head, Kat turned and scrambled up the stairs as the stone began to collapse behind her. She was not good with small spaces, and did not want to be crushed by rocks.
She made it to the top, but the hidden door was still closed, and she didn't see a lever to move the stone. How did the servants normally get out of there?
Kat frantically searched her inventory as the stone continued to collapse behind her. She found a wooden pickaxe and whipped it out. The collapsing stone was getting closer. She began to mine the stone in front of her as fast as she could.
When two blocks were gone, she leapt through the doorway as the stone ceiling collapsed where Kat had just been standing.
***
Jay jumped as a boulder crashed to the floor nearby. This was dangerous. They needed to leave.
He turned and saw Kirai looking at the lava below through a crack in the floor. She didn't see a boulder falling towards her.
"KIRAI!" Jay screamed. He sprinted and dove at her, shoving the two of them out of the way of the boulder. It crashed to the floor less than a second later. The two of them almost fell into a chasm that had just opened up.
"Thanks babe," Kirai said as they stood up.
Jay smiled at her. "Even after all this battling, you're still the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
Kirai smiled. "Shut up." Then, her eyes focused on something over his shoulder.
Jay turned around. Steve was surrounded by cracks, and the stone he was on was shifting, threatening to crumble any second.
A huge chunk of the wall above him was also threatening to fall on him.
Jay turned back to Kirai. He looked into her amber eyes, then briefly kissed her on the lips. Kirai kissed back hard, then pulled away, narrowing her eyes. She grabbed his arm. "Jay."
"I love you," Jay said. He pulled away and sprinted towards Steve without looking back.
"JAY!" Kirai screamed.
Steve's father killed Jay's father. But that didn't make Steve a bad guy. Jay didn't know why he hadn't realized that before. Maybe Herobrine was toying with his emotions. But that didn't matter right now.
Jay leapt over a chasm and raced towards Steve. Everything was crumbling around them. He grabbed Steve, spun around, and threw him to the other side of the chasm. Steve's sword clattered into the crevice from the momentum. Jay was still on the crumbling stone.
Steve's eyes widened as he hit the stone on the other side of the crack and looked at Jay. "JAY!" he yelled, but it was too late.
Jay felt the ground below him give out, and he began to fall. Just before he did, he gave Steve his signature grin.
***
Steve watched in horror as the ground beneath Jay collapsed and he fell towards the blazing lava below. The wall above him also collapsed at the same time, sealing the hole he had just fallen in. A female scream pierced the air, coming from behind Steve.
At first, Steve was devastated, and he just wanted to die. But then he realized who was responsible for Jay's death.
Herobrine.
Steve was furious. Herobrine had been the reason that so many of his friends were killed.
Fire Fall. Blue. Scullscan. Sharky. Hayden. Alice. Brayden. Manga. Louis. Probably some other Resistance members that he didn't know about.
And now Jay. Steve's best friend.
Without thinking, Steve leapt over another chasm with a scream and began to punch Herobrine everywhere he could.
Surprisingly, Herobrine grunted in pain with each punch.
***
Kirai fell to her knees as she watched the love of her life fall to his death.
She couldn't process anything. One thought resonated throughout her mind.
Jay is gone.
***
Kat could still feel the ground rumbling beneath her even though she was on the grass outside of the cavern. Her head was still aching. Tommy was nowhere to be seen.
She decided to start up the jet. They would probably need a quick getaway from the collapsing mountain. She began to jog towards the plane.
Hello, Katherine, a male voice spoke through the pounding of her head.
Kat stopped. You again.
Why do you sound so disgusted? I thought our little connection earlier was very nice.
It was not.
Kat scanned the area. She didn't see Yuri anywhere. But he had to be nearby, because he was talking to her through her mind.
I'm not here to argue. I'm here to convince you to join me.
And why would I join you?
I have nothing left. The boy rendered me crippled. I need someone strong-willed and determined like you to serve as my right-hand man. We can rule Minecraftia together after Herobrine is killed. And...
You can finally belong to something.
That hit Kat hard. Of course he knew her past, because he was in her mind. He knew she had never belonged to anything in her life. And he was using it against her now.
But he was right. If she ruled with Yuri, she could finally be a part of something. She could finally feel like she belonged.
Okay. Where are you?
Turn around.
Kat turned away from the mountain. Yuri crawled out from behind the single tree. He looked battered. There was a dent in the mind control device on his head. His legs were charred, and he obviously couldn't move them. He used his arms to pull himself across the ground.
I am pleased that you have agreed to be an important part of something for once, Yuri said, still in her mind. She didn't know why he wasn't talking out loud. You have never belonged to anything in your entire life. But now, you will belong to me.
Kat smiled as she notched an arrow in her bow. You're wrong, she replied in her mind. I've belonged to something for a long time. She aimed the arrow at his head.
"The Resistance," she said out loud.
The arrow flew. Yuri flinched, but the arrow didn't hit him. It struck the mind control device on his head, literally cracking it in two. It fell apart. Yuri gasped and looked back up.
Kat was already walking away.
***
Steve punched Herobrine over and over again. With each punch, he thought of someone who had died, and used his anger to fuel the attack. He had no idea how, but it was working. The potion must have injured him. Herobrine was grunting in pain with each hit.
But then he started to fight back.
Steve stopped for just a second to catch his breath, and Herobrine punched him in the stomach. It hurt way more than a normal Minecraftian's punch should, but that was because Herobrine wasn't a normal Minecraftian. Steve answered the punch with a punch of his own, in Herobrine's face.
Fire is dead because of you, Steve thought. Punch.
Blue is dead because of you. Punch. He heard huge cracking noises coming from all around.
Hayden is dead because of you. Punch. Herobrine managed to punch Steve again. It hurt like the Nether, but he didn't care.
Scullscan and Sharky are dead because of you. Double punch. It was starting to get very hot in the cavern. And the wind was picking up even more.
Alice is dead because of you. Punch. Herobrine punched Steve in the face, but he didn't stop at all. He needed to kill the being responsible for everything.
Brayden is dead because of you. Punch. Steve felt the ground give way at his left foot, so he stepped to his right to continue punching Herobrine. The cavern was falling apart.
Manga is dead because of you. Punch. Herobrine yelled in pain, but kneed Steve in the stomach. Steve was beginning to not feel any pain.
Louis is dead because of you. Punch. The only thing left in Steve's mind was to kill Herobrine. He didn't care about anything else.
Jay is dead because of you. Punch. His best friend was gone. He was trying to kill his best friend less than an hour ago. That was also Herobrine's fault. Every single thing that happened was Herobrine's fault.
Steve began rapid fire punching Herobrine everywhere he could. The face, the stomach, the chest, everywhere he could find a place. Herobrine couldn't get any more hits in.
Meanwhile, the cavern was collapsing around them.
***
Tommy had climbed to the top of the mountain to think everything over. He wasn't sure how to feel about anything anymore.
Alice was dead. He was still wearing her hoodie to remember her, but it was worn and tattered from all the battles it had seen.
Tommy brutally murdered Ashryn, who had murdered Alice. Yes, Ashryn deserved to be killed. But it wasn't necessary to shoot her when she was already dead. Kat made Tommy realize that. He was a monster.
That was why he didn't shoot Yuri in the face. Because it was unnecessary. But also, he hadn't killed Yuri, just disabled him. That meant Yuri could come back to hurt them later.
Tommy would make sure that didn't happen.
Suddenly, a huge chunk of stone fell out from the peak of the stone mountain he was standing on. The chunk fell inwards, presumably into the cavern below.
Tommy peered into the hole. He could see all the way to the floor, and it did not look good.
More chunks of stone began to fall more rapidly. Tommy could tell the entire cavern was going to collapse.
And his friends were still in there.
He had to think quickly. How could he save them? Tommy scanned his inventory.
The stone he was standing on began to fall, and he barely managed to jump backwards onto the mountaintop. The peak was not stable anymore.
Tommy found a lot of string in his inventory. He had an idea.

Kirai was still on her knees. She didn't care if she died. Her love was gone.
A boulder crashed to the ground behind her. She ignored it.
"Jay..." Kirai whimpered.
A crack opened in the floor right in front of her, creating a chasm. The heat from the lava below immediately blasted her face. Kirai looked into it.
She could lean forward and end it all.
She could be with Jay.

Kat entered the plane. She didn't know where Tommy was, so she would have to fly it herself.
Luckily, he gave her a crash course on it before they landed. So she knew the basics.
Unluckily, Kat's head was still throbbing from the stone that had struck her.
"I can do this," she told herself. Kat pressed the green button, turning the jet's engine on.

Steve was still furiously beating Herobrine. He knew he couldn't kill him like this, but he was perfectly okay with punching him forever.
The cavern was still collapsing. Lava was seeping onto the floor. Boulders were falling from the ceiling. The stone floor was shifting beneath their feet. The wind whipped faster than ever. Tiny rocks pelted their faces.
"You killed so many of my friends!" Steve yelled as he punched Herobrine again. "You will not kill anyone else!"
Herobrine managed to grunt out a reply through the barrage of fists.
"Except for you."
Steve glared at him. "I'm fine with that. But no one else will die because of me."
Herobrine roared and punched Steve hard in the stomach. Steve didn't move backwards at all, but he did notice blood dripping from various places all over his body, especially his stomach. He was in pain, but that didn't matter.
It was his life or everyone else's.
Steve roared back and began punching Herobrine again from a new angle. As he did so, he noticed something glowing on the ground behind Herobrine.

Through the holes created by the falling boulders, Tommy could see three figures below. Steve and Herobrine in the center, with lava all around them. Kirai was off to the side, on her knees for some reason. She seemed defeated.
She would also be crushed by boulders if she didn't move. But it didn't look like she was willing to.
Tommy didn't see Jay or Kat, so he assumed they were dead. He took full responsibility for Kat, and would beat himself up about losing her later.
But he would not be responsible for another death.
Tommy aimed his makeshift grappling hook at a large stable stone that was still connected to the ceiling. He fired his arrow, then jumped down into the cavern.
The arrow was connected to string, which was connected to his bow. If he estimated the length correctly, he'd be able to swing through the cavern and out through the holes on the ceiling, like he was swinging on a jungle vine. His momentum was only enough for one swing-through, though.
Which meant he had to be accurate.
As Tommy swung, he felt gale-force winds. He didn't know how that was possible, since the cavern was inside, but he didn't question it.
Boulders fell all around Tommy as he swung through the cavern. He didn't come close to the Steve vs. Herobrine battle, although he wished he could.
Unfortunately, Tommy would only be able to save one of his friends today.
Kirai seemed to be tipping towards the chasm in front of her. However, Tommy's grappling hook was effective, and he grabbed her before she fell in.
Kirai looked confused as they swung upwards, towards the holes in the ceiling on the other side of the stone where the arrow struck.
Tommy and Kirai swung out of the cavern and landed hard on the side of the mountain. The stone gave in where Tommy landed, and he had to roll to the side to avoid falling back in.
Kirai didn't speak. She was shaking. So was the mountain, for that matter. Tommy looked up to see the plane's engine running and the ramp open. So Kat was alive.
Or it was Yuri.
If it was the bald man, Tommy was going to kill him. But, the jet wasn't flying away, so he assumed it was Kat.
Tommy stood up, slung Kirai over his shoulder, and climbed down the mountain towards the jet.

Steve's Point of View
Herobrine brought his fist up and punched Steve in the jaw. Steve fell onto his rear, and Herobrine stepped forward. However, he was not nearly as menacing as usual. His white eyes were only faintly glowing.
"You've lost," Herobrine sputtered through a cough. A boulder smashed to pieces somewhere behind him. "You cannot defeat an immortal being with mortal weapons like your fists."
"What about immortal weapons?" Steve asked.
Herobrine raised an eyebrow, but wasn't quick enough to stop what happened next.
Steve lunged forward, grabbed Herobrine's magic diamond sword, stood up, and plunged the glowing blade into Herobrine's chest.
Herobrine screamed out as the blade pierced his skin. Steve began pushing it in farther, but stopped as Herobrine grabbed Steve's shoulders. The god began to generate fire in his hands, burning Steve's flesh. Steve screamed out as well, but didn't let go of the sword. Herobrine didn't let go of his shoulders, either.
Steve had felt lava lapping at his ankles earlier, scalding his feet, but he felt it all rush away suddenly. He also sensed a boulder about to crash on top of them, but it smashed to pieces in the air above them. Herobrine's powers were pushing everything away from them except for the blade.
But if his powers were working, that meant he wasn't dying. Despite the burning sensation in his arms, Steve shoved the glowing blade farther into Herobrine's chest. A white light began to leak out from the wound, shining on everything. Herobrine screamed louder, and the fire in his palms grew more intense. Steve could feel the fire licking at his neck.
"We will die together, boy," Herobrine yelled through the pain.
Steve pushed the blade in even farther, and the white light became blinding. He looked into Herobrine's eyes, which were very faint. In fact, he thought he saw a little blue in them.
"I will finish what my father started," Steve hissed back.
"Uncle."
Steve plunged the sword as far as he could into Herobrine's chest. The white light began to envelop everything in the cavern. The fire became extremely intense. Steve could feel his face burning.
Herobrine screamed louder as the white light grew brighter. The pain was too much to bear, but Steve didn't let go of the sword. The white light was blinding. He couldn't see a thing.
And then, Steve couldn't feel a thing.
Two bodies fell to the ground.
