Black cars stopped just by the metal gates of a well-known school, it was a grand structure made of expensive material.
The very sight of a proud school built with the image of power.
Security guards stood by its entrance, both left and right.
It was built with prestige, meant for children with exceptional brains and talents. Of course, only the richest among the rich could afford to send their kids there.
And right at the moment, the Head of the Japanese Family stepped out from one of the cars that arrived.
The school's guards knew who he was...minus the part of being the Don of a world ranking mafia, that is.
For them, he was the CEO of the very successful Dragneel Company. And yes, they knew his son attended the school.
Without question and delay, they opened up the electronically operated gates for him.
"We will accompany you." Erza proposed as she closed the backseat door where the Don came out of.
"No. You stay here with the others." Natsu spoke, "I'll take Laxus with me."
With that, he proceeded to walk into the gates with Laxus following behind.
.
.
PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE
The sound of a finger nervously tapping on the desk table sounded across the air.
It was the old principal, sitting on his chair, sweating like there's no tomorrow.
Then the white door of the office opened, the one whom he was waiting for was dressed in pitch black suit with salmon pink hair neatly fixed. Laxus entered as well; he just stood by the door.
"Ah! M-Mr. Dragneel, you have arrived," the principal shakily stood up, "P-please, have a seat."
He gestured his arm towards one of the chairs by the desk.
The Don walked towards the table, but he didn't take the seat he was offered.
Instead, his head turned to the boy sitting on the opposite chair.
The boy's face neither looked scared nor carefree. He just sat there as he looked up to his father.
Very behaved wouldn't you think? But of course, he was Lucas.
"I-I apologize deeply for c-calling your attention, Mr. Dragneel," the principal hesitantly started, "I know you have a busy schedule-"
"Very busy." Natsu clarified in a stern voice.
The old man gulped at this.
"O-of course."
"Why is my son here?" Natsu went straight to the point.
"Well, you see...about that, he hit s-someone in class today."
Natsu didn't flinch. He wasn't surprised. He knew that whatever Lucas did, he had a good reason for doing it.
He turned his attention to the boy.
"Is this true?"
Lucas stared at him.
"Yes," he answered with no hesitancy.
"Why?"
This time, Lucas shifted his eyes straight forward, looking into nothing.
"He was bullying Diva." The boy said, "That's why I hit him. I don't want anyone to hurt my family."
Hearing this, Natsu looked at him for a moment longer, and then back to the principal.
"I don't see why my son is at fault in this."
The old man looked taken aback, he thought the CEO was going to take his side and scold the boy for the incident.
"W-Well...y-you see. Because, he hit a boy in class, sir."
"Was Lucas the one who started it?" Natsu said calmly.
"W-well...no."
"Was my niece the one who started it?" the Don asked again.
"...No."
"Then why is my boy the one in the principal's office?" Natsu's voice was slightly louder than usual.
It took a while for the old man to answer him. He was looking for the right words to say.
"The p-parent of the other child complained about th-the incident, sir."
Natsu stared at him as if his answer was disappointing.
"You should have called the attention of that parent instead of me," his voice was back to normal again, "Let's go, Lucas."
And with that, he turned around and left with Lucas beside him.
The principal didn't argue anymore, he really didn't have the guts to do so.

ON THE ROAD BACK TO DRAGNEEL COMPOUND
Among the cars headed back to the territory, Laxus was driving the one with the Don and Heir inside.
"Where did you hit him?"
Natsu asked the short figure sitting next to him at the backseat.
"On the face."
"Did your cousin cry?"
"No," Lucas shook his head, "Gin was there, too."
His father hummed at this. Even Laxus slightly perked up when he heard Gin's name.
"Did you hit him hard?" he asked again.
After a second, the boy answered,
"Yes."
And that was all Natsu needed to hear.
"Good."
Violence was never a good thing.
But when it comes to family, everything is a different story. That's what Natsu was taught when growing up, and that's what he believed in.
Lucas was learning how to stand his own ground, and that was what mattered to Natsu.
"About what happened in school today..." he started,
"Don't tell your mother."
Their cars were now entering the tall gates of their territory.
"Yes."
"She will be upset," Natsu sighed, "Not at you, but at the other kid's family."
Lucas didn't need to be told that.
"I know, father."

DRAGNEEL COMPOUND
Red Orchard...
She was standing by the neatly lined bushes of red roses, holding scissors. She was cutting the ones with dried up petals.
Her long blonde hair was loose and her feet bare on the grass.
Sitting under the shelter of the white-painted gazebo was Levy. She was watching the Lady, holding her 5 year-old boy on her lap. He had her blue hair, and eyes as striking as that of Gajeel's.
A soft sound of shoes against the bricked pathway made Levy look to see who just arrived.
It was Natsu and Lucas.
With a smile, she stood up and bowed her head down before leaving.
Lucy didn't seem to notice this as she continued on whatever she was doing.
"You're quite enjoying yourself, aren'tyou?"
It was when her Don spoke up that she instantly turned to them.
"Oh!" she beamed up, "My boys are finally back."
Lucy bent down with warm outstretched arms as Lucas ran to her. His face as bright as hers.
"How was school, darling?" she asked along with a kiss on his cheek, "Were you being a good boy?"
"Always." he answered cheerfully.
Natsu just looked at them.
He wouldn't say it, but he was happy.
"Mirajane is baking your favorite chocolate chips. Why don't you go and have a snack?" Lucy playfully ruffled his salmon-pink colored hair.
"Okay!"
And with that, Lucas ran off towards the Main House.
Now both of them were left in the company of one another.
He walked up to her.
And when he was closer, he cupped her face and kissed her forehead.
Lucy smiled as she felt his sweet lips touch her skin.
"How are you feeling today?" he asked.
She giggled quietly.
"I'm fine, Natsu."
"Your health matters to me. Did you take your vitamins?" he asked again as they exchanged their gaze.
He knew nothing can ever cure her, the least these vitamins can do is to make her life longer.
Lucy continued to smile.
"Yes, I did."
Pleased, he gave back a gentle smile of his own.
"Natalia would have been so lucky to have a father like you," she spoke.
Lucy never gave birth to the baby girl.
Natsu never gave her the abortion pill either. He believed that she could pull through the pregnancy.
But it was on her 5th month that Natalia finally gave up the battle against the poison in Lucy's body.
It was a miscarriage.
Everyone thought that it was a natural occurrence.
But Natsu knew the truth.
The truth that he promised he'd keep to himself.
"She would have been four years old now...and as beautiful as you," Natsu said as he stared into the blue sky.
Lucy followed his gaze, her smile not leaving her face.
"Wherever she is now, she is surely happy," the Lady wrapped her arms around his firm waist,
"Our little girl is free without a worry in the world."
