Chapter 10
Back in reality..
Eleanor had just came back from shopping, but when she walked into the house she was greeted by the girls.
"Hi mum!" Jae said with a wave.
"Hey there Jae." Eleanor chuckled, placing the bags on the kitchen counter before returning to the living room.
"Can we ask you a question?" Lynne asked as she returned.
"Of course!" Eleanor said, sitting down,"What is it?"
"How did you meet dad?" Kasey asked Eleanor, all the girls had been wondering this for a while.
"Well, it all started at the academy..." Eleanor began dramatically, picking up her guitar and starting to play,"This is the song that I wrote about it."
Katie jumped up on the couch, next to Kasey and Jae while Kellie and Lynne sat on the floor.
"Whenever you're ready mum." Kellie told Eleanor.
"Well, I stepped into the room and she noticed me, almost instantly and I guarantee that she had heard about me through her girl friends. Not to mention, that her boyfriend hates me!~" Eleanor sang, glaring at a plant in the corner when mentioning Erin's previous partner.
"She looks like she's going to kill the plant.." Katie whispered to Kasey, in which she nodded.
"It's not my fault she looked at me, it's not my fault he couldn't compete~!" Eleanor continued singing.
"Was he through with it?" Kellie asked, looking up at her Mum.
"Well I did insist. Nothing happened there..." Eleanor paused before winking,"... That time~"
Lynne laughed at the wink.
"Guys don't like me, these guys they don't like me.. But their girlfriends do!" Eleanor smirked.
"Guys don't like you, those guys don't like you 'cause their girlfriends do!" Kacey repeated, getting up and dancing.
"Dododo! Dododo! Their girlfriends do!" Katie got up and started dancing as well.
"Stop!" Eleanor shouted to the girls, scaring them,"Let me explain the situation."
Katie and Kasey jumped at the shout, before nodding and sitting back down.
"Everybody's hatin' for the same reason. Attempting to mingle.~" Eleanor starting singing before smirking,"I knew she wasn't single~ And I'm just a nice gal!"
"So it's not your fault she looked at you?" Kellie asked Eleanor.
Eleanor shook her head, leaning back as she played her guitar.
"It's not your fault, he couldn't compete!" Katie told her.
"Was he through with it?" Jae asked.
"Well, the next time she was mine!" Eleanor sang back.
"Guys don't like you, those guys don't like you but their girlfriends do!" Kasey sang to her mother.
The girls all jumped up on the couch and laughed.
"Dododo! Dododo! Their girlfriends do!" They all sang.
"I stepped into the club and she fell in love~" Eleanor sang around four times.
Kasey stood up and jokingly asked,"Boi... That's your girl?"
Eleanor chuckled before singing again, "Guys don't like me, these guys they don't like me but their girlfriends do!"
The rest of the girls were singing along with Eleanor... Except Katie...
Kasey stopped singing, to get a breath before seeing Katie, "You alright?"
"Yeah! I'm just going to the toilet." Katie lied, walking out of the room as if she needed a pee.
"Have fun with your pee!" Kasey said before turning back to the singing girls and joined in once again.
Katie was actually going to Erin... She needed answers. Erin was in her bedroom, sitting on her bed on her phone.
"Hey Dad?" Katie asked, walking over to Erin,"I have a question..."
"Ask away, son." Erin told Katie, putting her phone down and patting beside her so Katie can sit down.
Katie say down and looked up at Erin seriously,"Are you... Are you my biological mother?"
Erin stayed quiet for a second, before speaking, "When I was in high school.. I had this friend called Madison, she helped me though a lot. Then.. she fell in love, she was sixteen and I was nearing college at twenty two.."
Katie nodded, following along.
"When she was pregnant with you, I was married. Kellie was about two and Kasey was coming onto her first birthday." Erin kept explaining,"She told me soon enough but when you were born.. She didn't make it, Kellie and Kasey loved you so much. I'm sorry for not telling you sweetheart.." Erin held onto Katie's hands.
Katie just hugging her mum. She didn't know what to think anymore! She was thankful that Erin took her in but... Sort of mad that she was completely unaware her whole life.
"The girls are away back into their own rooms.." Eleanor said as she walked into the room but then she looked up and saw Katie hugging Erin, "Oh god.. Did you tell her?"
Erin nodded as she comforted the small child in her arms.
"I would need to tell her eventually, right?" Erin asked.
Eleanor nodded this time, "Hey Katie.. You know that Erin loves you as if you were her own. So do your siblings, I mean look at how close you and Kasey are!"
"I can't believe that I was just told that I'm adopted!" Katie said rather loudly,"Oh God... Now Kasey's probably heard..."
All that was heard was a muffled scream from Kasey's room, "WHAT!?"
"That's my cue to leave." Katie told her parents, jumping off the bed and walking out of the room.
"How are you feeling?" Eleanor asked.
"Eh... Could be better." Erin responded, leaning her head on her girlfriend's shoulder.
"As you said, she would've had to of known eventually." Eleanor told Erin, wrapping an arm around her.
"It was obvious from the beginning. All of us, even you and Oakley are wolves." Erin stated, closing her eyes.
Eleanor nodded, "Let's get some sleep, okay?"
Erin didn't reply. She had already fallen asleep on Eleanor.
"How can you fall asleep literally anywhere?" Eleanor asked her sleeping girlfriend, lying her back,"Seriously, I swear you are a cat sometimes."
With Kasey and Katie..
"What do you mean, you're adopted?!" Kasey yelled.
"I mean that I'm adopted you dumbass!" Katie yelled back.
"And you're not angry? Or sad? Happy? What are you feeling?!" Kasey asked in a yell.
"I don't know!" Katie screamed at Kasey, causing her to freeze,"I'm confused and I'm sad and I'm mad and I don't know where I belong anymore!"
Katie stormed out of the room silently, picking up her bag on the way out. As Kasey sat there frozen, she heard the front door open and close again... Kasey bascially unfroze herself when she heard the door open and close again, she ran over to their window to see if she could see Katie in the darkness of the night. Unable to see her sister, Kasey quickly dialed Yumei's phone.
"Uh... Hello?" Yumei yawned,"What is it Alpha?"
Kasey sighed on the other end of the phone.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" Kasey asked as she leant against the wall.
"No..." Yumei said unconvincingly,"Now, what do you want?"
Kasey ran her hands through her hair and explained, "My sister and I had an argument and she grabbed her bag and left.. My parents and siblings are asleep, I can't see her in the street and I don't think I'll be able to find her by myself.."
"Well, the woods are a common runaway place. I'll ask Seymour, Maxwell, Sandy and Damien to help." Yumei told her, hanging up.
Kasey put her phone in her back pocket, putting on a jumper and walking out the front door. Kasey then began walking to the woods to meet the gang.
At the entrance of the woods, the four boys were waiting for their Alpha. Kasey came into view.
"Are you guys okay?" Was the first thing she asked.
Maxwell was asleep standing up, his head on a very awake Seymour's shoulder. Sandy was in the process of finishing a large cup of coffee and Damien looked... Normal.
"I remember you! You're the one that told me to be more careful after I smacked Sandy's head with a ball." Damien realised.
"Yeah, I did. Were you more careful?" Kasey raised a brow.
"Yes! Wasn't I Seymour?" Damien asked confidently.
"If I remember correctly, you were. Surprisingly.." Seymour told Damien.
Damien posed before asking,"What are we doing again?"
"Someone had a fight with her little sister and caused her to run away so now we need to look for her." Seymour explained.
Sandy looked up and asked innocently,"OoO~ Who's the someone?"
Seymour pointed his elbow at Kasey,"Not pointing any elbows but they know who they are."
"Listen, it wasn't my fault. She doesn't normally act like this." Kasey raised her hands in defeat.
"Let's hurry, I'm tired and mildly concerned." Seymour justified himself, picking up Maxwell.
"Aw, you care!" Kasey smirked, teasing Seymour as the five of them began walking around.
"Not you." Seymour muttered, looking around, knowing that Katie wasn't there.
Sandy and Damien walked ahead slightly.
"So...You and Maxwell. How are you guys?" Kasey asked Seymour.
"We're doing good, he's still a bit dumb though." Seymour told her, walking closer to the rest of the boys.
"That's good, I'm still surprised you managed to confess to him." Kasey said with a smile, looking in the trees for Katie.
Shortly after Seymour told Kasey that he liked Maxwell, he confessed. To which Kasey was extremely happy about.
"I would thank you for the support but... You yelled at Katie." Seymour told her, Maxwell still asleep.
Kasey tilted her head and asked, "Wait.. Seymour?"
"Yeah?" Seymour turned to look at Kasey.
"I never told you my sisters name.. How do you know her name?" Kasey asked in confusion.
Seymour quickly threw down a smoke bomb and disappeared into the woods.
"What the fu-" Kasey stared at where Seymour just was, "Uh.. Guys?"
Kasey looked at Damien and Sandy.
"Ye-"Sandy turned around,"Oh... Where did Seymour and Maxwell go?"
Kasey circled around, looking for anything, "I asked Seymour how he knew my sisters name and then he threw a smoke bomb and disappeared.."
"Is that the secret that he was talking about Damien?" Sandy asked, looking at the ginger wolf.
"Secret? What secret?" Kasey turned to Damien with a concerned look.
"Dunno. It's a secret." Damien told her,"He just let slip that he was keeping a secret."
"When was this?" Kasey asked, wondering why Seymour would keep secrets from his pack.
"When we were waiting on you." Damien stated.
"We're an open pack, there's no reason why he should be keeping a secret.." Kasey told them as she sniffed the air, trying to get a scent.
"Seymour has his reasons... He only keeps secrets if he's trying to protect someone." Damien explained as Sandy wandered off, chasing a moth.
Kasey was silent for a minute, putting the pieces together.
"Stay here with Sandy, I'll be back soon. Okay?" Kasey instructed Damien.
Damien looked around,"Um.. problem with that..."
"Don't tell me he's gone as well." Kasey sighed, turning back to face Damien.
"Sandy!" Damien called out, running into the dark forest.
"Operation find Sandy, Katie, Seymour and Maxwell is a go." Kasey mumbled before following after Damien, "Sandy!"
After running for what seemed like forever, they reached a small clearing with a large oak tree in the middle.
"Have you been here before?" Kasey asked Damien, circling the oak tree.
"Never been here before..." Damien stated, starting to climb the tree.
"Neither have I." Kasey shrugged before climbing the tree behind him.
When they reached the top they saw Maxwell and Seymour asleep, snuggling each other as Katie was sipping some tea from a flask.
"I knew it! Why are you with Seymour and Maxwell?" Kasey asked, trying to stay calm.
"Because they don't yell at me for having a different way of expressing my emotions..." Katie told her quietly as Seymour woke up.
"Look.. I'm sorry okay? I was angry because we were both lied to. I didn't know why you weren't showing any emotion for this, if I was in your situation I would be fuming. That's why i yelled at you.." Kasey explained, looking at her youngest sister.
"...Please don't be mad at Dad... I asked her to tell me, it wasn't her fault..." Katie told her, finally turning around.
Seymour just sat and watched as the sisters began to make up.
"If I promise not to be mad at Dad, will you come home? The woods are dangerous at this time of night if you go to the wrong people." Kasey stated, of course she meant the Black Tree pack. If they found out that she had a sister, who knows what they'd do.
"I mean, I was only trying to find that Maxwell guy. He's pretty easy to find..." Katie chuckled at her statement before jumping down from the tree,"I'm coming back with you!"
"Good, because I need to sleep." Kasey said before seeing that Seymour had woken up, "Hey Seymour?"
"Yeah?' Seymour replied, rubbing his eyes.
"Thank you for taking care of her.. Maxwell too, give him my thanks when he wakes up." Kasey told Seymour.
"I will." Seymour stated before saying,"He probably won't even remember this happening.
"Be safe guys." Kasey said before climbing down from the tree to see Katie waiting with Damien.
"I climbed down ages ago. My arms got tired." Damien told Kasey as she approached them,"I need to get back to Sebastian before he starts asking questions."
"Sandy will probably be back st the camp, he knows if he strays then he's meant to go back to camp." Kasey stated.
Damien waved at the two sisters before he sisters before he began walking off in a different direction.
"You're so lucky that I'm a forgiving person." Kasey told Katie as they began to walk.
"Hey! Seymour told me that if I ever need him, to go to that tree." Katie said, looking at her older sister.
"Any reason why that particular tree?" Kasey asked, her nor Damien have never seen it before tonight.
"Because it's a big tree that nobody else knows about because it's so far away." Katie explained.
"I guess you're right." Kasey nodded as they both continued walking, "What do you think of them?"
"Them?" Katie asked, there were so many wolves that she didn't know who Kasey was referring to.
"Everyone." Kasey replied, looking at the trees as they walked.
"Well, Maxwell and Seymour seem nice, Jesse and Sandy remind me of Dad, Damien and Sebastian are hilarious, Yumei's like Kellie, Andie's pretty chill and the kids that I met are adorable!" Katie said in one breath.
"I'm glad that you like them all." Kasey said before she walked right into a tree, "Fuck!"
"Ha! You really need to watch where you're going loser!" Katie laughed, running ahead.
"It's dark!" Kasey used an excuse before running after Katie.
"You read your damn book in the dark but you can't see a tree?" Katie shouted back, running through trees.
"This is outside! Reading a book inside is different!" Kasey replied, still chasing Katie.
"Whatever you say!" Katie yelled back.
"Where are you?!" Kasey yelled, stopping and spinning in a circle to see Katie.
"I'm everywhere but I'm nowhere~" Katie said spookily.
"I'm not doing this shit again, c'mon sis it's late enough." Kasey sighed.
"I'm right here." Katie said, standing right beside Kasey.
Kasey turned her head to face Katie and she screamed, as she didn't expect her to be there. Katie grabbed Kasey's arm and started to drag her home.
"I can walk myself~" Kasey whined, but before they could walk any further...An arrow was shot above their heads and landed in the tree in front of them.
Katie screeched as the arrow flew over her head.
"It's fine, it's probably just guard duty." Kasey reassured her sister, turning around and telling the shooter, "It's Kasey, don't worry."
"Which one of you nearly shot me?"Katie asked the shooter.
"The only one here.. Me." A familiar voice to Kasey said.
Kasey immediately recognised the voice..
"Kasey?" Katie asked her sister,"Who is it?"
"Someone who we shouldn't be talking to.. Hello Jane." Kasey said in an unpleasant tone.
"Right, let's get things straight lady." Katie stated, walking towards Jane,"I don't like nearly being murdered."
Kasey grabbed Katie's arm, so she wouldn't walk closer.
"And I don't like it when two wolves from another pack walk into my packs territory." Jane told Katie, although she assumed that Katie was a wolf.
"Two? What two? I only see one." Katie responded before realising,"Oh... You mean... Ah... I get it now."
"You're a fucking idiot." Kasey mumbled to her sister, "We're sorry for coming into Cecilias territory, but it's dark and we couldn't see."
"No, you couldn't see. I could see perfectly fine, I just didn't know what the heck these white cloths meant." Katie explained, starting to walk off.
"You're both just making this worse for yourself." Jane said, before walking in front of Katie, "So.. Who might you be?"
"Don't talk to her any longer." Kasey told Katie.
"Meow!" Katie yelled, scratching Jane in the face, climbing up a tree and jumping between them.
"You've done it now." Jane said shaking her head, not before putting her fingers in her mouth and whistling.
"Get down from there and run!" Kasey yelled at her sister. Knowing that that whistle was to either get backup, or to get Cecilia herself.
"This is faster!" Katie yelled, leaping out of Kasey's view.
"Fucking hell.." Kasey whispered to herself, looking at Jane with a glare before climbing up the trees and going the path that Katie went.
"There!I can see the house." Katie yelled, pointing out of the woods,"Aim for the bushes!"
Kasey could hear a couple of howls from beneath her.
"Go first! I'm right behind you!" Kasey yelled at Katie.
Katie jumped from the trees, landing on her feet and in the bushes at the front of the house.
Kasey jumped down after Katie, landing on one knee and one foot, "The doors open, get inside now."
With no hesitation, Katie sprinted and successfully reached the door.
"Go fuck yourselves!" Kasey yelled into the woods before running into the house and locking it behind her.
"Why did you make them more angry?" Katie asked.
"You scratched Jane in the face. They're already pissed." Kasey stated before walking to the kitchen and getting a glass of milk.
"I felt intimidated." Katie justified herself,"You told them to go fuck themselves!"
Kasey shrugged, "Do you even know who they are?"
Katie shook her head. She just knew not to mess with them... When Kasey was around.
"That's the Black Tree Pack, they're our rivals. Remember that fire that happened a couple of years ago?" Kasey asked.
"No." Katie told her, yawning.
"Of course you don't. But they started the fire, Cecilia also happens to be Seymour's mother." Kasey said, taking a sip of her milk.
"Who's Cecelia?" Katie asked, not knowing who this person was.
"The Alpha of the Black Tree Pack, total bitch by the way." Kasey told Katie.
Katie nodded before walking to her room, slipping on an oversized shirt and going to sleep.
Kasey sighed, making sure the front door was locked before walking into her own room and going to sleep.
