His Angel

EUCLIFFE ESTATE

The brothers were in the living room.

Rogue was sitting on one of the chairs, still on his robe and reading the newspaper while Sting was pacing back and forth near the veranda. The white curtains flowed lightly with the morning breeze.

The blond stopped and turned to his brother.

“Hey, remember the celebration at Natsu’s a few days ago?”

“Yeah. What about it?” Rogue answered, still looking at the paper.

“I was told he got married. That true?”

“Well, yes. Didn’t you know?” His older brother answered, still not looking at him.

Sting gave him a look.

“Of course I don’t. I wasn’t around when that happened remember?” he mocked.

“It was in the papers. Didn’t you read?” Rogue chuckled.

“You must have forgotten that I don’t like reading,” Sting mumbled.

“No wonder Rakheid is always in first place and you in third place when we’re talking about academics.”

“Don’t remind me,” he mumbled again.

“Well now you know. What’s the big deal?” Rogue said, still facing the paper.

The blond rubbed his face like he was bothered by something.

“Everything’s a big deal! I met this blond chick and I don’t know. I can’t stop thinking about her. Just when I thought I’ve found the one, it turned out she was already married!” Sting said not looking at Rogue.

“What blond chick?” Rogue asked with an amused smile, still not looking at him.

“First I thought she was Rakheid’s girl then I found out she wasn’t. But then Lucy suddenly went to Natsu who kissed her…”

“Lucy?” Rogue’s eyes widened, his attention now shifted to Sting who was still blabbering.

“And just like that I found out she was his wife! Why him of all people? If it was someone else, I could easily snatch her away, BUT NO! It had to be Natsu. What am I supposed to-“

“Sting!” Rogue called out, getting the other’s attention.

“You’re not…falling for her, are you?” he asked, worry was written on his face.

Sting saw this. He knew his brother had always tolerated his informal behavior without complaining. He didn’t want his brother to be worried about him. Rogue’s already got a lot of problems in his hands. He wasn’t planning to add up to them.

“No, of course not,” the blond let out a forced laugh, “what I’m trying to say is, could I go out and bring Rufus with me? I’d like to check out the new clubs. You know what I’m saying?” he smirked mischievously.

Rogue sighed.

“Yes, yes. You should have told me right away that all you wanted was to hook up with some girl,” Rogue returned to reading his newspaper with a relieved smile, “Well get going then.”

Sting grabbed his jacket and went out of the room.

That’s right. Maybe all he needed was to have fun and he’ll forget about her.

DRAGNEEL COMPOUND

Natsu’s office…

If he’s not working at the company, he resumes work at the compound. Zeref would substitute in running the company for him.

Natsu was signing some papers when Lucy walked in.

She went behind his leather chair and circled her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder.

“I’m not done with work yet, baby,” Natsu said smirking as he reached for her hand and kissed it.

“You’re always working,” she replied, her breath tickled his ear.

He slightly turned his head to where her face was.

“I promise I’ll do whatever you want when I finish.”

“Why don’t we…go watch a movie tonight?” Lucy said smiling.

Their lips brushed and Natsu couldn’t help but kiss her.

“Are you sure that’s what you want to do? I have something better in mind,” he whispered.

Her face reddened as she felt his hot breath touch her lips.

“Well…,” she said shyly.

Natsu could feel her face heat up.

“What do you say?” he smirked, his hand tightened on hers, “I know you want to.”

“Mmm…I think I’d like to see the movie,” she answered.

Lucy was going to give in to his plans, but realized that he always had his way with her. Maybe it was time she had hers.

“Oh? I thought you were going to say ‘yes’.”

She buried her face in his hair, not letting him see her flushed face.

Natsu chuckled.

“Alright then. Movie it is.”

CLUB

Two blonds, Sting and Rufus, were sitting on a U-shaped red couch, drinking as the party lights hit the floor and the ladies danced on the center of the room.

“That’s your 12th glass of JackDaniel’s. I don’t want to be the one carrying you home got it?” Rufus said to the other as he gulped down his own drink.

“Oh come on, it’ll take more than this to get me drunk,” Sting laughed at him.

Then a flash of blond hair caught his eyes.

A woman was dancing with the others.

The woman’s hair reminded him of her. Lucy. Only she was definitely more beautiful than the hoe dancing like crazy.

But he needed to forget about her.

So Sting stood up and headed to the dancefloor.

Rufus didn’t try to stop him. Whenever the both of them went out to have some ‘fun’, Sting always brought home a girl.

“Hey, what’s your name?” the woman asked seductively as Sting went closer to her. She was flirting and pressing her body on him as they danced.

“Let’s just say it’s classified, sweetheart,” he said smirking at her.

And just like that, the woman started kissing him. He let her.

“What about you? What’s your name?”

“Yohime” the woman answered as she continued to grind her body on his.

“Could we pretend…,” Sting started, “that you’re Lucy?”

The woman laughed at him and clung her arms around him.

She stared deep into his eyes.

“You’re funny.”

Sting’s eyes widened when he heard this. It was like he remembered something. Someone. That’s right, Lucy said the same thing to him that day.

Damn it, it wasn’t working. The more he tried to forget, the more he remembered.

He grabbed the woman’s arms harshly and pushed her away. He could hear her complaining when he walked back to the couch.

“Let’s get out of here,” he said to Rufus as he continued to walk to the door.

“But it’s still 7 o’clock!” Rufus shouted after him.

.

.

“Wow, this is new,” Rufus said with a smile, looking at the other blond.

They were riding back to the estate, passing the city with busy people in it. Different lights reflected on their black limousine.

“What is?” Sting looked at him, bored.

“You. Normally, we’d get home past 2 AM in the morning after going to the club and you’d wake up with a hot beauty in bed with you after that.”

Sting just stared at him. He was right. That was supposed to be the routine. What was wrong with him?

“And you’d tell me to dispose of the poor girl after you’ve had your fun with her. What a heartbreaker.”

“Alright! Geez. I get it.” Sting rolled his eyes and stared at the people beyond the window. Rufus just chuckled at him.

Then Sting’s eyes slowly went bright when he saw a woman come out of a car in front of the movie theater.

It was her.

He was sure it was Lucy. He confirmed it when he saw a salmon-pink haired man walk towards her, Natsu. He led her inside the building with men in suit following behind them.

“I can’t do it.”

“Do what?” Rufus asked the blond who continued to stare on the window.

“…can’t keep my mind off her.”

“Who?”

He closed his eyes as Lucy disappeared from his view.

“His angel,” he answered.

Although Rufus did not understand what he was talking about, he didn’t try to push on questions.
