Airports and Planes
A/N: Requested by Blackberry808 !!!
Avi was excited to learn that his sister Esther is getting married to her boyfriend Darien. Of course, she asked immediately if Kirstie could be be the flower girl and if Scott and Mitch could be the ring bearers. Of course, Avi didn't mind, but there is one thing that does have he keep in mind:
This is the first time the Olusola children will go on an airplane.
~~~
The three children ran into the airport, laughing crazily. Avi shook his head and walked faster to catch up with them. He caught up and was about to tell Kevin to get their children when he saw his husband playing tag with their children...in the airport.
"Whoever moves gets a timeout," Avi yelled out suddenly, his deep voice striking fear in everyone. Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch all stopped, freezing in funny poses. Kevin froze himself and Avi shook his head. "Except for you, Kev."
"Ha," Kevin commented playfully at his children, sticking his tongue out at them. They all wanted to glare at him, but they didn't want to have timeouts. "What time is our flight?"
"An hour," Avi answered, looking at his watch. He then began to walk, feeling like he forgot something. "I have the bags, the maps, the carry-ons. Everything seems okay."
Kevin nodded, feeling like he forgot something too. The couple shrugged their shoulders and walked to the waiting area for their plane to take off.
~~~
"Flight 25 for Lake Tahoe will be leaving in five to fifteen minutes. Please get ready to leave."
Avi then gathered all his stuff, making a mental list.
Bags, check.
Maps, check.
Carry-ons, check.
Kevin, check.
Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch. Che-
Avi then widened his eyes, suddenly remembering what he forgot. Kevin noticed this and raised an eyebrow.
"What's the matter?" Kevin asked, not seeing what was wrong. "We got everyth-"
"WE FORGOT OUR CHILDREN!"
~~~
Avi and Kevin began to look for their children, wondering where in the world they could be. Avi then shook his head, tearing up a bit.
"We're terrible parents," Avi began, a tear falling down his cheek. Kevin then wiped it, frowning a bit. "We need to leave for Lake Tahoe in a few minutes and I lost our children."
"Daddy."
"I'm horrible. I might as well get arrested for committing three acts of terrible parenting."
"Daaaaadddyyy."
"I'm going to regret this for the rest of my life, Kevin. Why did I leave them?"
"Daddy!"
"Scott, be quiet! I'm ranting to your father," Avi scolded to his oldest child. All three of his children stood behind him innocently. "I am terrible father!"
"Our children are behind us," Kevin pointed out, waving at his children. They all waves back, happy to be in their dads' presences. "See, Avi? They're okay."
Avi fell to his knees and hugged all three of his children, trying his best not to cry.
They're okay. They're really okay.
"Last call for Flight 25 to Lake Tahoe."
"Time to go, kids," Kevin called out, holding Mitch's hand. The five year looked at the window and widened his eyes. "What's the matter, Mitchy?"
"Those are big birds," the five year old observed silently, looking out at the planes. Kevin laughed at Mitch's adorableness and nodded. "Do you think they fly to the South for the winter?"
"I don't know, Mitchy," Kevin answered, laughing at Mitch's observations. "Maybe."
Mitch nodded as Kirstie walked by him. The slightly taller girl held onto her younger brother's hand and began to swing it back and forth. Mitch began to laugh and tried to do it himself, but it only made Kirstie loose her step. They began to laugh hysterically and repeated the action again.
"Am I going to be tall like Daddy?" Scott asked randomly, looking up at Avi with big blue eyes. Avi shrugged his shoulders, not knowing why Scott was asking this. "Do penguins have feelings? Do dogs really love? Why is Mitch so adorable? Why is Kirstie so adorable? Why am I so adorable? Why-"
"Scott," Avi interrupted, quieting down his eight year old son. "Ask me these in the plane, okay?"
"Okay," Scott agreed, nodding his head. He then tilted his head once more, smiling at his dad. "Why is Daddy tall?"
He's lucky I love him.
~~~
After going onto the plane, Avi could finally not worry about the children freaking out.
Sadly, this was untrue.
First, Mitch cried because he claimed that 'the big bird is eating us'. Secondly, Kirstie fainted because she just had to look outside so she could 'see if there are any puppies', and lastly, Scott asked the most random questions ever. Avi just wants his family alive to go to the wedding.
"Mitch, this is a plane. Planes don't have feathers on them," Kevin explained, trying to calm down the five year old.
"You don't know that," the soft voice pointed out. He then pointed to the wings, crying more. "Birds have wings, planes have wings! Therefore, it is a big bird!"
Kevin sighed as he ran his hand down his face. Kirstie woke up, rubbing her head. She then frowned and crossed her arms.
"I wanted to see if there were any puppies," the seven year old murmured, causing Kevin to laugh. Avi sighed, wanting this plane ride to end.
"Avi, we're almost there," Kevin promised, looking at his watch. "Stay positive, okay? Everything thing will be okay."
Avi nodded as he looked outside. Scott kept on asking the questions.
Why does he keep asking these questions?
Avi then got tired by the questions and was about to tell Scott to be quiet when the sweet voice asked one more question.
"Do you love me, Kirstie, and Mitch?"
Avi then lost all the anger he had all day. He then looked at his innocent children. They're kids. They're going to think some object is something else, they're going to think they're going to see something, and they will ask the most random questions ever.
Yes, there are moments when Avi wants to rip out his hair because of them, but at the end of the day, he couldn't ask for better children.
"Of course I do. I love you three more than anything."
The three children all smiled at Avi and sat down in their chairs, finally falling asleep. Kevin then frowned, looking at Avi.
"What about me?"
"I guess I love you."
"Hey!"
"Just kidding. I love you too."
Avi then sighed contently, blessed to have such a beautiful family. He knows nothing will go wrong now.
That is, until his children started a food fight with the wedding cake, but that is another story for another day.
A/N: This is both funny and fluffy, lol (. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the one shot and remember that I love you all so very, very much.:)
