Prologue
Rainy night, cloudy sky with thunder, the sound of roaring sky along with the cold breeze makes anyone's heart pound against their chest.
But Adi was staring at the bizarre sky with a deep thought in his mind. He didn't know how much time had passed by.
He didn't even hear the rumbling sound that his stomach made.
The cold wind touching his skin made him go back to his room and search for his hoodie.
He opened his wardrobe only to find his shabby clothes falling on the ground.
He was reminiscing the same movement that happened before where she was scolding him to arrange his clothes neatly.
Her words brought a smile on his lips which immediately vanished remembering she isn't with him.
If she was with him, she would have stolen them from him.
He doesn't understand her crazy liking of wearing his hoodies.
Whenever they go shopping, he asks her to buy hoodies if she needs any. She glares at him and tells she doesn't need any, rather ends up taking his hoodies.
With a smile on his face, he took his black hoodie and wore it. He strolled towards his balcony.
Adi was looking at the sky and wondering how his life has changed in the span of a year. He was recalling every second he spent with her.
There was a saying that As time passes by, our memories fade away. He fears as every movement passes by .
If he stops remembering her, what if her memories fade away? Even by the mere thought of forgetting her , he wasn't even able to take it.
Even though it hurts, he wants to remember everything. She is the best thing that happened in his life.
He was remembering their first meet, first date, first hug, first fight, first kiss. Everything brought a smile to his face.
His google search was filled with cheesy lines or flirty lines. He used those lines on her, making her laugh no matter how angry she was with him.
The memories of her were imprinted on his mind. Whenever he tries to escape from her memories, he ends up crying his heart out.
He showed her the moments of utmost happiness which won't fade away no matter what.
He spoiled her with his love. He boosted her when she was down.
He always manages to bring out the childishness in her. He teases her, scolds her, fights with her.
He never imagined a day without her. He laughed sarcastically at his fate.
He couldn't erase the feeling of her presence beside him and holding her as if his entire life depended on her and looking at her with dreamy eyes.
He would go crazy if he can't find her. His eyes keep wandering for her. Her absence creates chaos in him.
For other people, she is basically an introvert. Only he knows how extroverted she can be.
He loved her like there is no tomorrow.
He is wondering how she is? Does she feel the same way?
One misunderstanding cost him to lose her.
Some matters which are nothing to someone can be important to others.
He didn't understand till he lost her. He wanted to erase the day she left him.
On the other, Ria was sitting in her room with a blanket on her.
She doesn't like the gloomy sky. The seasonal changes causes her allergic rhinitis to flare up.
She ends up sneezing and having a nose block.
" Damn the rain. I hate the rainy season," She was murmuring to herself.
She went to the kitchen to treat herself to a coffee.
She started preparing coffee. She poured coffee in her cup.
She was engulfed in the fragrance. She felt nostalgic when the aroma hit her nose.
" What is your liking for your coffee? Why do you like coffee so much?", Adi asked, pulling her towards him with his hand on her waist and her back facing his front.
"Be careful. My coffee will spill. I don't know. I just like it," Ria said blushing due to his hot breath touching her nape of neck.
" What if one day you get bored of it? ", Adi asked placing his chin on her right shoulder.
" My likes won't change that often. It will stay the same forever no matter what. I don't like changes," Ria replied.
" What if changes are better? Who knows?", Adi questioned.
Ria turned towards Adi, placing her hands around his shoulder.
" What is with you today? Asking so many questions. Can't you enjoy the weather?" Ria asked Adi, raising her eyebrows at him.
" Just wanting to know you," Adi replied.
Ria's heart flattered hearing Adi's words.
" What's there to know? Just boring stuff," Ria murmured.
Adi pulled her towards him, further closing the distance between them.
" Nothing is boring about you. Everything about you is intriguing," Adi pecked on Ria's lip making Ria hide her face in his chest.
Ria came out of trance when her hot coffee spilled slightly onto her hand.
" Oh damn," Ria said, placing the cup on the table and poured water on her hand to decrease the burning sensation.
" Why do I keep on remembering about him when in reality I want to forget him?", Ria was talking to herself.
Ria poured her coffee in the sink.
" Sometimes keeping distance from what we like is better than staying close and getting hurt," Ria thought to herself with a sad smile.
She walked into her room with a dull face whispering, " What you did is correct Ria. Never regret it. It's better for him. He deserves better."
She kept repeating the words trying to make her mind agree but her heart won't agree to it. It replies by tears from her eyes.
Just then, Ria heard a knock on her door. She wiped her tears and opened the door.
Mike was keenly observing her face to read her expressions.
For him, his sister is an easy one to understand. Being a younger one doesn't make any difference.
They are more like best friends.
Ria moved aside allowing Mike to get inside her room.
" Unable to sleep?" Mike asked, looking around her room.
" Somewhat," Ria replied.
" Why do you keep pushing yourself away from people you like, Ria?"
Hearing her name from his mouth is enough for her to say he is damn serious.
" He deserves someone better, Mike," Ria said in a low tone.
" You're the best, Ria. Get that in your brain. Why do you feel low, Ria?
He is the lucky one to have you in his life," Mike said, holding Ria's cheeks.
" You will always assume I'm best no matter what," Ria smiled at him.
" You will always assume the worst in yourself," Mike said, making Ria glare at him.
Ria held his ear and twisted his ear, " What did you say? Come again."
Mike groaned and said," Leave my ear, you idiot.
Do you remember from tomorrow your post-graduation will start?
He is in the same university. What will you do then? Will you be fine seeing him?"
" I don't know. Mostly, I am in another department. Hands cross. I won't come across him," Ria hoped.
" Don't think everything happens as you wish, Ria. You always can't hide away from him ," Mike tried to explain to her.
" I am drowsy. Let me have my beauty sleep. We will talk tomorrow. Good night," Ria said, pushing Mike out of her room.
Will their love get another chance?
