So much was my excitement, and probably the absence of my bed, that I wasn't really falling asleep. And that's when I started thinking about the Fallen Queen.
Rumor had spread that Cecila was forever in search of her, because she had completely vanished from existence a lot of years ago, and she could really decide which age she was, so technically she was immortal until she chose to die. Cecila was devoted towards finding the Fallen Queen because she was the talk of the town for literal generations. She was formally called Etis's most intriguing mystery because everyone knows what happened to her, but no one really talks about it openly to anyone. She was a fierce ruler they said, but never beyond that. What happened, was something you heard from someone you trust only once, and then you'd preserve the story until you told it to someone else, discreetly.
Savannah was supposed to be the Fallen Queen and Cecila was trying her best to prove that. According to everyone, Savannah was so much like her. Bold, Charismatic, and every trait a fierce and strong queen would have. She had an aura. But then if she was the Fallen Queen, why had she returned after so long and why wasn't she revealing herself?
I chose to believe she was the Fallen Queen after all. But something felt unusual. Why was no evil therein Etis's story? I thought the Fallen Queen was, but people really never opened up about that. Also, Deisy never had the opportunity to talk about the Beguiling Islands, which no one mentioned in their tour guides of Etis. So I couldn't really judge it to be evil.
But the fact that there was no negative energy opposing anything here was weird. Because nothing in life or anywhere is so perfect, so good. Its the law of the universe, where there is bad, there shall be good. Where there is good, there shall be bad. Where there is chaos, there shall be peace. Where there is peace, there shall be chaos.
No, maybe Etis was that utopia after all, which we humans know and believe can't ever be achieved.
While I was immersed in a conversation with myself, I suddenly felt something in my pocket. It was the stone Aspen's mother gave me. I had kept it with me, somehow, because I wanted to know what it did. I took it out. Maybe it was some emergency button or communicator. But it was very ordinary, it didn't even shine.
That's when I looked up. There was no moon in Etis I believe? And why had I never noticed this before? Why did I never think about it before?
Well, there were multiple of them, small and bluish in color.
I wondered how the sky differed and so did the lives here and there.
I woke up with a jolt, I had forgotten I wasn't in my bed and hit a tree bark accidentally. I quickly walked in one direction, hoping to end up somewhere with a network. The fun was over, I wanted to call for help now. As I ran and ran, I stumbled upon a place I never saw before.
It was the mystery.
