At a point and time, the Avengers lost.
They were beaten to a pulp by an enemy far stronger than any have ever faced. Any hero... from any group.
But now, for a second time, that enemy has arrived.
And sagaciously, so have the heroes of this world.
And sagaciously, so have the forces of this universe.
All have gathered, respectively, to team up. Some are fighting their very last fight. Some are on the final mission they will ever go on, but it will be worth it.
Because to save the world, is their cause. To take down every last opposer trying to disrupt peace. To fight... until the very end.
And they'll never be alone again.
Cut the rope and let them fall. Some have been through it all.
And others...
... Others are forces to be reckoned with.
―𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐃. With Thor emitting a battle cry as well as Black Panther, every hero on the field charges with striking ambition―whether that form is physical in running or by levitation.
Thanos―indeed with the same swelling ambition―lifts his double-bladed sword and his Children and alien-like army abruptly begin charging as well. Wakandan aircrafts as well as Ravager ones follow behind the flying individuals of Stephen Strange, Wanda Maximoff, Sam Wilson, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, War Machine with a perched Rocket Raccoon, and StarLord with his jet boots and a mask covering his face.
Spider-Man uses the arms of enlarged Ant-Man to web-sling into combat, and aside from Scott Lang is Valkyrie who holds a sphere atop her Valkyrie Steed. Everett Eileithyiason is placed behind on top of the same horse.
Both sides collide.
Caitlyn Strange and Bexley Nightingale are inside the large horde of Avengers who are grounded, though shortly diverge to higher ground when conjuring mandalas and using them as stepping stones―the two girls use this as an advantage point for striking down on their enemies. The Teens of the Mystic Arts do their part.
Ania Udaku and Tarik Umoya stay close to Ania's father, T'Challa, and the General of Dora Milaje. Okoye stabs a few creatures while Black Panther dropkicks one of them. The White Cat swipes savagely with her golden spear and continues teaming up with Tarik who fires his ring blades, from Sister Nakia, relentlessly, slicing through opponents.
Doctor Strange's niece keeps her sword belt around her waist and instead performs basic spells that she has been taught to fend off, summoning portals elsewhere to rid of the growing amount of alien dogs. Her dark-haired and sweet best friend wears a look of malice while using her new katana―her previous one having been given to Caitlyn, with the utmost expertise.
Still not as good as the katana-wielding blondie herself, but in this battle directly following another, for her, on Titan... Caitlyn refrains from using her specialty weapon.
Thor strikes lightning down on several of his opponents. M'Baku and the Hulk fight near each other. Giant-Man punches a flying Levithan that once terrorized New York. Hope Van-Dyne re-materializes to land a harsh kick.
Valkyrie and Everett fly down and the boy extends his mace/flail to take out multiple aliens while his Godmum directs the steed. Shuri in her Nikes with her panther-shaped gauntlets fires blasts, and Korg and Drax the Destroyer team-up.
This just leaves Danielle Rockland. The eighteen-year-old, remaining only a few feet away from her father, Steve Rogers, is also not at her full potential. She still is able to combat, though, as the Blue Phoenix signals multiple blasts internally into the enemies that rapidly approach her.
Dani's short dark hair whips back and forth, as frantically, she is more defending herself than actually fighting, and that is understandable.
That is completely understandable considering what she just went through. A downgrade in power. Not to be discussed at this time.
Wanda draws a line with her red aura that internally destroys three aliens heading towards Dani, lowering herself down with hyper-extended palms coated in a red mist.
Wanda presses her back right against the other young woman who is like a little sister to her―and while being fully capable of protecting her own wellbeing, she never strays from Dani's. Dani is grateful.
Taking out some of Thanos' smaller ships, Rescue destroys one with the Nano-tech that flies out of her blue suit. Iron Man shortly joins her and both husband and wife are back to back kicking ass. Energy explodes out of their chest plates.
Captain America and Thor are also an unstoppable duo. The two are fighting in their own unique ways against many foes when they find themselves holding the other's weapon. Well, Stormbreaker is known to be Thor's, but Mjölnir? Mjölnir is shared by a select few, including a force.
They both stop at the same time upon noticing, "No, no, give me that."
Cap tosses him the larger hammer.
"You have the little one," Thor tells the SuperSoldier whilst handing him the smaller one, and the two split as the God flies up and Steve runs to his right.
Across from them is then Bucky Barnes, the longer-haired Winter Soldier as well as Rocket Raccoon in their element, holding guns and firing nonstop at creatures.
The fighting prolongs.
―𝐑𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍. 𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 Cull Obsidian before Scott gets the jump―literally―by stomping on the alien completely.
The sixteen-year-old spider-powered-being is enthusiastic as ever, relaying to his mentor/father-figure nearly everything he could remember before falling victim to the Snap when the Ironed Man cuts him off by tugging him close. He holds Peter like the son he is to him, extremely glad to be reunited with him, it visible by the look on his face.
He brings the boy in for an embrace and secures his admiration with a platonic kiss on the cheek.
Peter Quill has a rather undesirable reunion with a Gamora that is not his, and then things pan back to the active scene when Dani Rockland captures an alien creature's claw with her ForceField. The alien, followed by another, plows through the young woman's not-so-impenetrable blue barrier―right now―but with her quickness, Dani gets away.
Proxima Midnight, an enemy who once fought her mother, Black Widow, races toward Danielle sensing her vulnerability, and seizes the opportunity when stabbing her staff right through the enhanced girl's stomach.
The female gasps as her seafoam eyes bulge an unstoppable amount, and she grows stiff as her whole body is racked with an inconceivable load... of pain.
Red aura soon enough coats the throat of the particular child of Thanos, and in a swift beat, as she did before, Wanda Maximoff ends the life of the alien female who hurt the ones she loved.
With that set leaves the redhead dashing forward and slipping an arm around the waist of her sister-figure, and Dani's grits slowly turn into yelps as she is moved to an area with some coverage. Her sounds of attempted, suppressed anguish alert Steve immediately, and still dirt-covered and slightly bruised the Captain reaches her side in an instant. In a heartbeat.
"Are you all right?"
Both Steve and Wanda are in the eighteen year old's limelight, their expressions of deep concern heightening off of each other when Dani isn't exactly able to formulate a response, and the attention turns toward the large, sharp sword lodged just below her heart.
A few looks are what it takes to confirm. The young woman braces herself by clenching the red-jacketed arm Wanda holds out, for comfort, and leverage, as Captain America intakes a big breath before pulling it out.
"AGH!" Dani nearly caves forward, but her body is manually pushed back up and she works on returning her breathing back to normal while her father rids the piece of weaponry.
In the middle of her stomach lays a medium-sized gash type of hole that bleeds as the weapon almost went all the way through. Wanda waits for the blue to glow in Dani's eyes but to her short revelation, it does not. The girl does not signal her regeneration. Or rather... she can't.
So just as doing so with Vision when encountering subordinates of Thanos in Edinburgh, the mystical woman lowers her hand down and trickles some red aura into the oozing wound Dani possesses, and then begins to heal it. She helps jump-start her healing process, which isn't working efficiently.
"Why aren't you able to heal yourself?" Wanda asks her, eyes trained on the source of the pain.
And the Blue Phoenix exhales very shakily out before pressing her head into the back of the rock wall.
Her explanation isn't really one at all, "I'll tell you later. It's a long story."
Not really... It's because Dani just died a moment ago. Temporarily.
Temporarily, she didn't even know that was possible, but almost indefinitely.
Several Avengers gather around for this brief break in fighting, and while Steve desires to stay by Dani's side he knows he is a leader right now and must attend to those who need him. Who needs... a plan.
Clint Barton still has the Infinity Gauntlet. After a marathon of a run, the Falcon subduing one of the larger enemies that chased him with his sharp Falcon wings, Hawkeye finishes his race when jogging down the surface of the Earth and reaching his companions―declaring, "Hand is safe."
"All right," Tony remarks.
Clint is out of breath, "Let's get rid of this damn thing."
Dani and Wanda turn their heads and notice that more heroes have gathered. Scott has shrunk back to normal size. Wasp, his partner, is near him, and Okoye, Black Panther, Mantis, Gamora from 2014, Nebula, StarLord, Spider-Man, War Machine, Iron Man, Drax, and Rocket Raccoon are all present in a circle-up of what to do next now.
Caitlyn and her uncle arrive late to the party no later than what is about to come, but first Ania checks in with T'Challa.
All briefly take cover when blasts from the main ship are fired. Dani keeps her eye on it, mouth open wide.
Below that, Clint poses a very important question, "Anybody see the van?"
"I don't think we're driving outta this one, buddy." Peter corrects him with a bit of sarcasm and confusion.
But Hawkeye says back, "No, kid. It's what's in it."
"The tunnel." Scott suddenly realizes, his helmet off.
Smart Hulk commits to the idea of, "Pym's original Quantum Tunnel."
"That's right, we put the stones in the tunnel... and we just dump it in the Quantum Realm. He'll never find them." Iron Man tells everyone, and Bruce continues to be on board.
Adding, "Easy peasy lemon squeezy."
"Great," Rocket comments from lower on the ground, "but there's no way that piece of crap survived all this."
"The... the talking animal... h-h-has a point," Ania speaks from the side of T'Challa, still bewildered at the existence of Rocket.
A, she sighs, a talking animal. She's accepted it.
But Scott miraculously proves him wrong by raising his right hand and pressing the car key that is in it. The tune of La Cucaracha begins playing and soon enough there is some faith. Faith for this... flimsy, flawed, quickly sprawled up plan by the Avengers. And forces.
"It's a Ford."
"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Steve runs up, inquiring, and over comm, his best friend answers him.
"I do..." Bucky from a sniped position responds, "But you're not gonna like where it's parked."
Scott and Hope and the rest crouch down as they look at the scenery of what they are up against. Many, many creatures and aliens.
Steve states firmly, to Ant-Man and the Wasp, "You get the stones to that van, this ends right now. Can you guys get that Quantum Tunnel working?"
"We're on it, Cap."
Hope says, and Scott turns and looks at her with a smile. The two then shrink and with the Wasp grabbing one of his hands, they fly to the destination of their van in minimized form.
Taking a look at what they are up against, and then back at the group, Cap looks to T'Challa for affirmation.
"Can we run it?"
Okoye intervenes, logically, "Capable as we all are, we can't all make it through that."
"Not all of us have to," Thor replies with embeddedness.
Not too far off from the blonde-headed male, Everett is by Drax and his godmother, Valkyrie, when the shirtless man utters, "It's a terrible plan."
"Yes." The dark-haired Asgardian woman agrees, though shimmers, "I like it."
Her godson in absolute fashion bobs his floofy brown head, sleeveless chest plate, and blue cape a bit worn from battle, "Me too."
His charm is not.
The woman can't help but grin, "I knew you would," she tells him, "Because it's reckless."
The boy rolls his blue eyes but obliges when his god mom bumps his arm, and that is when T'Challa turns around and leaves his biological daughter's side, "Father?"
Walking past Okoye as well, the Black Panther and selfless King of Wakanda takes the Nano-gauntlet from Clint's aching hands and relieves him, "Thank you for getting it this far, Clint."
Worry sprouts in the White Cat's brow, though that surely turns to ambitious anger and fight. Determination.
"Steve! What about Thanos?" Fear is laced in the other teenager's voice, Peter himself one among a few of them here, who are heroes, and the one who nearly is no longer of that status speaks up.
The one who is furthest away. The original force.
Dani croaks out, "The Ship―"
She immediately breaks into a cough, being supported mobility-wise by Wanda, and the eighteen-year-old steps forward, "Thanos' ship. If we take it out, it'll make things a whole lot easier."
Rocket is subconsciously snarky in spatting at her, "So do it."
That is when the eyes and face of Dani Rockland fall. She looks down at the state of herself, outwardly, inwardly, spiritually... and simply with remorse, she sighs.
"... I can't."
Steve Rogers' features curl up as he stares at his defeated daughter in sadness.
Not alone. She couldn't do it alone.
Not alone can the young woman complete this task of getting up there to the Sanctuary II, and bring it down with power she for the moment, does not possess.
She can't do it alone.
... She will never be alone again.
Caitlyn Strange steps up, eyeing Dani with caution.
Before enlisting, "We'll help you."
Princess of Wakanda, Ania, makes her way over next. Her look, no matter what, is reassuring.
"Always." She maintains.
Dani's eyes widen at the two girls standing in front of her, two that at a point and time, she was not so kind to... but here, they understand her. Recognize her. Recognize... her change, and most of all her cause.
They know... because they too carry the same one.
And all the young woman can say is, "Thank you."
Thank you.
Caitlyn stifles a dry laugh, "I mean, after all, we are some Forces to be reckoned with, right?"
Ania nods, though is not able to say more when a fourth joins the big three... and Everett of course is booming, "Hey! You guys didn't forget about me, did ya?"
The White Cat is then the one letting out a few sounds of laughter, giggling at the boy from Space, "We could never."
"Good."
The Troubled Youth leans back and raises her hands, them shaking unnaturally, and with a bit more strain than usual, she conjures an orange-flurried portal that leads straight onto Thanos' ship.
Caitlyn acknowledges Dani with her head, "Shall we?"
Dani is about to say 'yes'.
But that is when five more come to the party...

"WHOOOOOOOOOOO!" The driver of the vehicle and his four orphaned friends chorus in rowdy voices, and the driver... is Jackson.
Experiment #06.
Oh, god.
Dani's jaw drops.
In the passenger seat is his girlfriend, and slightly disgusted-looking Experiment #04, Kayla, who pops her tongue out at the severed, weird dog aliens stuck in between the wheels.
Yeah... She is glad she is not an Avenger.
But look at them now. Look where they are now.
Marcus and Allison (#23 and #102, if one forgot) climb out of the back doors in a rustle-type manner and move to stand aligned with Jackson and Kayla, muttering about and laughing about their level of excitement in being there.
Being here, on the battlefield.
"Woohoo!"
"Party time, Boneheads!"
During the Battle of the Earth...
Other forces are shocked.
Caitlyn tilts her curly blonde head to the side, squinting a brow, "Who are you guys?"
Jackson sends her a wink, "We're the Efficients."
Ania seems just as confused.
Dani's previous expression inciting her leaves her body entirely when the last presence comes out. The final Efficient.
https://youtu.be/NmA7j_frpqE
Sandy, darker skin, brown eyes that are occasionally orange, and the curly untamed hair of Dante actually match current circumstances for once. The battle for the universe. Experiment #123.
Something inside #124 grants her access to move on her own again, and jogging over to him, she does.
Dante's eyes light upon noticing her.
She is approaching him and he queries, "Am I on time?"
Dani doesn't answer, she just grabs the back of his head and kisses him.
The two are in their own world upon being brought back together. After saying goodbye, after their first kiss, their second one is warm with the added smoke that kicks up in the air.
Dante calms that with his natural-cinnamon scent, and Dani's fresh one combines for an everlasting experience of lust, and love. Infatuation as both hearts beat at the same rhythm. Dante's with no trouble, and Dani's while running on a whole lot of stamina and adrenaline.
They finally pull apart, both containing an aftertaste of the other, and as their eyes reopen the young woman is enchanted.
The young man caresses her similarly dark but now significantly short hair with his palm, complementing, "Nice haircut."
Dani bleeds a full-toothed smile and their foreheads intimately touch.
"Uh, hello? Romeo and Juliet! We got a war to win here!"
Clint calling the two down back to reality does not decrease the enamor that drips from both their gazes when glancing at each other, and they transition to holding hands and walking back over to the group of Guardians, Asgardians, and Avengers who all just witnessed the scenery.
Dani is too focused to be embarrassed.
The Efficient circle around and Allison directs their gazes up by her address, to their leader, "Well, Dani, what do we do?"
The eighteen-year-old rises up, and she begins to debrief a plan. Their own plan... led by her.
Captain America is amazed.
He watches and listens with precision as Dani mimics―no, IS―the diligent leader of the group of these orphaned kids. From the same background, with the same powers as her.
The SuperSoldier has full belief in the capabilities of his daughter, as well as her adaptability in creating a fleshed-out plan for her comrades. Just like the one on September 18th, 2023.
She was amazing, truly. And independent, that was for sure.
Natasha would be so proud.
"Got it?" Dani questions her team, before reciting back, "Enter the ship, destroy every last blaster you can, and do it as quickly as possible."
"On it."
"Yup."
Are the swift confirmations from her team. The Efficients.
And with one more nod of gratitude to one Caitlyn Elizabeth Strange, Dani, her boyfriend, and friends run through the backless portal that leads straight onto Sanctuary II. Their job is to destroy the ship.
Back down here, Steve Rogers straps his shield and clarifies, "Company ready?"
"Yes!" Thor's battle cry and many others rectify this notion.
And Captain America shouts, "Now!"
Caitlyn, Everett, and Ania burst through the crowd of heroes and do their jobs in charging right at the Outriders who oppose them. Meanwhile, atop Sanctuary II, Dani and the oh-so-mighty Efficients work to take down the powerful ship.
More is to come their way.
Help is on the way.

BOO!
Thought I'd scare you all with this delightful chapter! Sorry if it wasn't posted on Friday I have to confess a lot went on this weekend regarding "Halloweekend" at my University, as well as just the same old college life. Can you believe I'm almost halfway through my first semester as a college student cause I sure as heck can't! 🤭
Anyways, happy Halloween! I hope you all have a great one and are safe and make good choices. I was kind of sick the day I was supposed to go out but oh well ... there's always next year 🤷♀️
One thing I'd like to say I know, is how proud I am of this chapter, literally almost every single thing I wanted to incorporate into the big battle in Endgame regarding my characters, some fun stuff, all translated exceptionally well from my head to the page ... and for that, I'm happy. Hope it was enjoyable for you all.
Authors/my friends on here, y'all aware of the happy emotions I am feeling when everything in your story lines up perfectly? Like sure I changed up some things and played into some of the deleted scenes from Endgame because there is SO MUCH they couldn't fit in that I liked. And of course writing a sequence like this isn't exactly super easy from an author's standpoint but that's okay for me cause I am kind of doing what I want to/including what I can. Hope you guys liked it It was just the best way I could fit in my characters and uh ... the whole FORCES TO BE RECKONED WITH Scene ugh that was such a build up and now they all know each other our forces (mostly) so yayyy!!
Praise be to the Efficient's for showing up & another Dantani kiss. Omg. Whipped for the two of them that's for sure.
So, yeah, that's it I guess. Have a good one.
Comment, vote, please follow if you wanna see what else I write, and if you're curious for the chapter count left in this book there are 5 more left before new content will be released! So stay tuned!
xoxo, signing off but not really, Alessandra
