Chapter 1~ The Ghost King
Centuries passed, and as it came Nico became a legend himself, although no one really knew his name. The only reason they made legends of him was because he slipped in and out of the world, (though to be honest he thought it would be cooler if he was spotted with his angel wings).
They knew he had dark hair, they knew he wore dark clothes, they knew he had pale skin, so they rounded it up to a Ghost King and called it a done deal.
Nico really wished he could punch the creators of that dumb name in the face.
Though he did live up to it, he got a crack out of appearing out of no where and yelling, "BOO! I AM A GHOST KING! FEAR ME BEFORE I... SUCK YOUR BLOOD?"
Yeah, he didn't really know what to say. But no matter, it still worked, and he laughed his ass off everytime.
Soon rumors flew around, such as he was something called a 'vampire', or maybe he was an accomplice of someone named 'Slenderman.'
Each new rumor was dumber than the last, and soon Nico came to love the title 'Ghost King.' It definitely beat all the other names.
Though one day he was foolish enough to allow a group of teenagers talk to him, and to this day he still doesn't know if he regrets it or was happy it had happened.
He had been taking a little snooze by a tree when he was woken by a bunch of chattering.
Nico slowly opened his eyes, revealing a group of teens.
The first one he saw was a male, he was tall and muscular, but skinny as it was. He had sea-green eyes, a childish grin, and jet black hair. Standing next to him was a female, she had golden blonde curls that fell around her face in a graceful manner, you would've guessed she was some perfect, angelic child of some sort, but the eyes ruined that image. They were a storm-grey, and no matter what they held a sort of dangerous glare, like she was ready to murder anyone who crossed her, at anytime.
The next was a boy, skinnier than the first, with an impish elf face. He had brown mocha skin and short, curly black hair. Upon his face was plastered a devilish smile, saying nothing but trouble.
Two more females, one with spiky black hair and electrocuting blue eyes, and the other had almond-shaped eyes with beautiful caramel hair.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Nico asked his relieved faces.
The girl with the spiky-black hair's expression soured. "That's the first thing you say to us after we check to make sure you're okay!?"
Nico stretched, "Got a problem with that, princess?"
"WHY YOU--" the other girl held her back.
"No Thalia, you mustn't." she said.
"Fine, but next time I'm punching his sorry ass to China." 'Thalia' grumbled.
"Oh no!" Nico feigned a gasp, "My poor, poor donkey, you just simply can't send him to China!" he frowned. "Mostly because he doesn't even fucking exist in the first place."
"Calm down Bitch Queen." the dark-skinned boy said, "We were just trying to help. I'm Leo by the way, that girl with the caramel colored hair is Calypso, and my girl." (Nico took note on the scowl that Calypso sent his way when Leo said that) "That's Thalia, the girl with the punked-out mullet, the blonde girl's Annabeth, and the dude next to her is Percy."
"Meh." Nico shrugged, "And I care... why?"
"THAT'S IT!" Thalia launched herself at Nico, but before she could get very far she was smashed face-first into the ground.
Nico rested his foot on her back.
"That was fun." he said, "Care to attack me again, mortal?"
"Mortal?" Annabeth asked skeptically, "You make it sound like you're not."
Shit.
"Nevermind." Nico said.
"But you said--"
"Didn't I say nevermind?"
"Yes, but--"
"I SAID NEVERMIND!"
"I DON'T CARE!"
Nico crashed into the tree he was resting on a few minutes earlier, staring up at Annabeth in disbelief. She was the first person to ever land a punch on him, besides Solace, of course. Even more surprising, she was a human!
"So tell us." Percy said, "Why are you here?"
Before Nico could answer Annabeth's expression dropped and the color drained from her face, realization dawning on her. "G-guys... t-this... this is..."
"Yes?" everyone looked at her.
"T-the pale skin... the dark hair, the dark clothes... d-do you realize who this is?"
"Ah yes you finally came to it you stupid mortals." Nico snapped, "I'm Nico Di Angelo, the so-called Ghost King and all that shit."
"So your immortal?" Leo asked and Nico nodded. "Like the gods?" Nico nodded again, "And angels?"
"IF YOU DON'T STOP ASKING QUESTIONS I'LL RIP OFF YOUR HEAD!"
"Sorry sir!"
"I never believed that story." Percy said. "The Ghost King, for someone who's been around as long as that, that can't be their entire tale."
"Right you are my boy!" Nico said, "I'm a fallen angel as well!"
"A f-fallen angel?" Calypso asked, "T-those really exist?"
"Duh, otherwise I wouldn't be standing here right now, now would I?" he chirped.
"Take off your shirt." Annabeth said.
"WHAT?"
"I said take off your shirt."
Grumbling Nico did what he was told.
"Turn around."
Nico turned around.
"I knew it, your wings can't disappear forever!"
"What the hell do you mean?" Nico grumbled and Leo took a picture.
"You have a scrawny frame, dude." he said.
"At least I rock the look, unlike you." Nico snapped, throwing his shirt back on. "What'd you discover, Wise Girl?"
Annabeth huffed and showed Nico the picture Leo had took. Along Nico's back large, dark wings spread across, only it was a tattoo.
"In all the tales I've heard, all fallen angels have kept their wings." Annabeth said, "Then I saw you, and I guessed the wings had to be somewhere."
"Gee Annabeth." Nico said. "Thanks, I mean it. There might be hope of me getting my wings back after all."
OMFGS NICO SAID THANK YOU! Did that just happen?
