"I don't judge people on their worst mistake."

And so here they are. Their feet bound together by a thick rope and the blood rushing to their head. Aife's arms swung lazily above her head as she huffed and poked her tongue to the inside of her cheek to refrain from speaking. She was majorly pissed off, and she was getting a migraine from hanging upside down. They were nearly six floors up.
Axel was the same, he was annoyed, though he found it rather peaceful. With everything that's went down, this is the most quiet he's gotten in a while.
"Great plan, Thomas," Axel deadpanned, his jaw clenching as he pursed his lips with an exasperated glint in his eyes, "Seriously, I would have never thought of this."
"Yup, lets just hear what the man has to say, really working out for us. You too, Aife." Minho added, a small smirk rested upon his lips at the teasing glare that he received from the said girl. He then watched as she spoke, and the way her face hardened, one that often scared him in the glade.
"Shut up, you Shuck--face. It wasn't my fault." Aife snapped, her rope slowly spun her around, so she was now facing Newt, she sent the boy a look and crinkled her nose, to which he playfully rolled his eyes at. They couldn't help but feel rather pathetic, due to their current situation.
"Maybe I can, r-reach the rope." Thomas grunted, flinging his body forward like a fish out of water as he struggled with his useless plan.
"Enjoying the view," A voice mused, Aife rolled her eyes as she patiently waited for her body to face the man.
"What the hell do you want?" Thomas deadpanned.
Jorge wore a smirk on his face as he released a half hearted chuckle, "That is the question."
"My men, want to sell you back to WCKED," Jorge informed, Axel frowned at his words, unable to refrain from making a sarcastic remark.
"Well, come on. What are we, merchandise?" Axel joked, despite his humor, he was quite nervous. And beginning to feel nauseous.
Aife didn't say anything, she only continued to glare at the man.
Jorge ignored the former guards and continued to inform them, "Life has taught them to think small, but i'm lot like that." He faked a frown as he shook his head at the group, "Something tells me that you're not like that either."
It was quiet, until Minho spoke.
"Is the blood rushing to my head or is this shank not makin' any sense." The asian deadpanned as he narrowed his eyes in suspicion at Jorge.
"Okay," Axel mumbled, trying to dismiss the stupid comment that his new found friend had just made.
Jorge turned towards Aife, pointing his finger at her as he spoke clearly, "Tell me, what you know about the right arm."
Newt furrowed his eyebrows as he glanced at the man, "I thought you said they were ghosts." He questioned, Newt was beginning to grow red in the face.
Jorge only sent them a small smirk as he shrugged, "I happen to believe in ghosts. . . Especially when i hear them, chattering among the airway." He teasingly tapped Thomas' elbow as he made his way to the lever, which was attached to the ropes.
"You tell me what you know, and maybe we can make a deal." Jorge reasoned.
Axel rolled his eyes, "Yeah, well, we can't make a deal if you kill us, so how about you let us go." The former guard sassed.
Thomas' eyes widened as he panted out, "Alright, w-we don't know much."
Jorge narrowed his eyes, tilting his head before he sent the group a fake smile, he pushed the lever forward, watching as the group of kids let out screams of alarm while their ropes slightly lowered.
"Okay- Okay! Their hiding in the mountains. And they attacked WCKED, they got out a bunch of kids, that's it, that's all we know." Thomas rambled, and Aife wanted to slap the boy in the head. If they kept giving people information, they'd surly get themselves killed.
Jorge opened up his mouth to reply, but before he could, a voice called out to him, "Yo, Jorge. What's goin' on." A man questioned as he rested his hands on his hips. He was a pale man, black hair with a hint of gray, and he had grime rubbed into his skin.
"Me and my new friends were just getting acquainted." Jorge pointed out, "We're done now." At his words, Aifes eyes widened as she spoke. She had brought her boys — And Teresa, whom she didn't like, out from the maze and WCKED's grasp. She'll be damned if she lets them down now.
"Hey, wait! You're not gonna help us?" Aife yelled, an incredulous look washed over her expression.
"Don't worry, Red Queen, we'll get you back to where you belong." Jorge grinned, he then turned around, his arms swinging by his sides as he called over his shoulder, "Hang tight!"
At his words, Aife felt chills roll down her spine, her eyes hardening at what he called her. She didn't like that name. She hated it so much.
"What is he talking about, Aife? Why do they call you that." Aris' small voice spoke out timidly, the girl didn't give him a clear answer, merely dismissing the topic.
"Doesn't matter."
Jorge then walked back to his office and began rummaging through his belongings, breathing heavily as he moved swiftly.
"Going somewhere?" A female voice asked, Brenda, as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Jorge faced her, pausing in his movements before he responded to the girl, whom he thought of as a daughter, "We both are." He replied, "Pack what you need, do it quietly."
They couldn't afforded for anyone else to follow them, and if the others found out Jorge and Brenda were leaving without them, they would be furious.
Jorge walked past Brenda, crouching down next to a table as he put walkie talkies in his old backpack.
Brenda furrowed her eyebrows, her lips pulling into a frown as she questioned, "Where exactly are we going?"
Jorge stood up, a smirk on his face as he faced the girl, "It's real, Brenda, these kids are our ticket. Especially the girl. The right arm can't turn us away." The older man breathed.
Brenda watched as he walked passed her once more, an incredulous look on her face as she began to think, the girl? She could kill the both of them if she wanted. Being with Aife is dangerous, with many people having heard about the incident that happened at WCKED, she was pretty well known by the survivors of the scorch. And Brenda knew for a fact that Aife's friends didn't know, the confusion that crossed across their face when Jorge said the name she's known by. The red queen.
And she even noticed the way that Aife looked at Teresa with an unreadable glint in her eyes, it was dark. Almost as if Aife was just waiting for the girl, whom she believed to be a traitor, to mess up so she could ruin her.
Brenda knew that Aife was still holding on to dark thoughts, and she was practically a ticking time bomb.
Back with the gladers and the former guard, they were pushing Thomas forward, trying to see if he could reach the lever to lower them to safety.
"Okay, this isn't working," Aris spoke up, "Let's try Aife." Everyone seemed to agree with the small boys idea as they shifted their attention to her, who was watching the boys fail with a bored expression.
"Alright," She spoke as she felt Newts hands wrap around her waist and push her forward into Axels arms, who was the furthest from the lever. He held onto her right before launching her forward, the girl grasping for the railing desperately, but failing as her finger only grazed the tip.
"Again, I almost had it." She ordered, Axel followed her command, counting to three before pushing her body forward and watching as she successfully gripped on tight to the railing and twisting her body around, reaching for the lever to lower her feet onto the ground. She quickly sat on her behind, her hands rapidly untying the rope from her ankle before she ordered for the rest of them to continue to push each other forward.
The boys and Teresa cheered in relief as they managed to free themselves, watching as Aife helped Newt by handing him a pole and pulling him to safety.
While doing so, a bright light shone in the building, along with a loud voice and the sound of helicopter propellers, "It won't be long until the flare wipes out the rest of us, the hope for a cure lies in your hands. The choice, is yours," They recognized the voice as Janson, who was desperately trying to retrieve the runaway teens.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, Teresa was listening closely to Jason's words.
"Alright, come on!" Thomas yelled, turning around, just before freezing as he heard a gun clock.
"Going somewhere?"
