Chaotic Christmas
My sister reminded me to continue with this. Enjoy!

Something was wrong when Taehyung woke up. The air he was breathing felt heavy and warm, and his back was itchy. But when he tried to reach behind him to get rid of the second problem, his fingers touched something hard and plastic-like that definitely should not be there, much less attached to his body. Within the blink of an eye he was wide awake and struggling to understand the situation.
He had to be under his blanket. That much became clear after he felt around him. But why was his blanket not coming to an end? It almost took him one minute to crawl out from under the uncommonly heavy thing and breathe fresh air.
And his breath got stuck in his throat when he looked around. What the hell had happened? Why the heck was his room so giant and he himself so small? The apartment had the size of a theater hall, the small not-so-crippled Christmas tree with the blinking lights had the size of an old fir, and his phone, which was still placed on his nightstand, was half as big as him.
What did happen to him? Why was he fairy-sized?
A little thrown-off, he stumbled over the pillow towards the nightstand to climb up and reach his phone, which was blinking happily with a newly received message. It was stupid to go for his phone in his current size, but old habits die hard and he needed something normal and mundane right now. And mundane he got. When he, with some effort, pushed the button of the device, he found several colorful messages on the screen that held an unhealthy amount of Santa faces, Christmas trees and smiling smileys.
Right, today was Christmas. Today they would have pancake breakfast, bake cookies, and make it snow again. And Namjoon had promised to visit them. For some unknown reason the gift fairy had not moved in with them, but the green-haired was a regular guest at his place nonetheless. However, that was unimportant now, because how was he supposed to manage all their plans when he was the size of a fairy?
The screen went dark again, and he stared at his own reflection. And what the heck was that behind him? Shocked he tried to turn his head to look at what was attached to his back until he realized how stupid he was and bent over the screen again.
He had wings! Those beautiful, sparkling, transparent fairy wings. A happy tickle rushed through his stomach at the sight and made him almost forget about everything else. Could he fly now? Like a real fairy? Or much better! Did he sparkle? Could he do magic?
Hastily he ruffled through his hair.
Black. His sparkled where pitch-black!
How could fairies have such dangerously-looking sparkles? But that was not all. Everywhere his sparkles hit a surface they crackled and lit up like fireworks. This was beyond awesome! That was the coolest thing he had ever seen. Fascinated, he ruffled his hair until it felt like a mess and the nightstand and phone were crackling under sparkle-explosions.
"Awesome," he whispered and turned towards the shelf with the sound system on the other side of the room. He had to show the others. Now!
And without a second thought he jumped from the nightstand and allowed his wings to carry him over to the other side, only startled for a second when he realized that he had just been flying. Flying! Like a real fairy! With his own sparkling fairy wings!
He so had to show the others!
"Wake up!" he shouted at the bundle in the little bed next to the sound system, that seemed to consist of more limps than necessary, and shook it until it began to stir. "Look what happened!"
Three mops of hair stirred on their pillows, and the pink one was the first to lift and look at him.
"Oh my!" Jimin gasped and sat up straight, speaking Taehyung's mind.
In the next second, he was surrounded by a black, an orange, and a pink mop and touched by three pairs of hands who twisted his limbs in every impossible direction.
"Look at this gorgeous red hair!"
"Even now he has big hands."
"His wings are really beautiful. Like a newborn's."
"Could you stop?" he asked shyly, suddenly overtaxed with the situation. Of course, he was well aware that these were his friends and that he was smaller than normal, but there were three stunning men of suddenly-his-size, fiddling with his hair and whatnot. This was not human-compatible at all.
The motion around him halted instantly and three embarrassed fairies stood in front of him. "Sorry," Jimin mumbled. Even now that they were the same size, the pink-haired looked unbelievably cute, and Taehyung felt the unbearable urge to squish his soft cheeks.
So, he did. And it looked really funny. A small giggle made its way up his throat while Jimin just looked startled.
"I think I know what kind of fairy you are," Jungkook said after he had exchanged a look with Hoseok who had nodded softly. "But let's ask Jin to be sure."
"Oh, you're so cuddly," Taehyung cheered at Jimin's squished face, not listening to the others at all.
"Cou you le go?" the pink-haired mumbled through his plush squished lips.
"Nnnnn..." Taehyung wanted to deny and obey at the same time. With much effort, he tore his hands away from the Easter fairy's cheeks and sighed, "Okay."
"Let's grab breakfast, shall we?" the smaller said with a smile, after he was able to speak properly again, and took his hand to pull him towards the kitchen. "Jin sure won't mind starting earlier." Happily, Taehyung followed at the thought of pancakes. He would go wherever food was.
When they entered the kitchen, the tooth fairy was already up and working. Bowls of different content stirred themselves and several objects flew through the air around the blonde.
"Jinie!" Taehyung cheered when he saw the tooth fairy and let go of Jimin's hand to ruffle the chef's hair.
"Taehy- holy shit!" the blonde replied with comically widened eyes. "No, no, no! This can't be happening." And the tooth fairy rubbed his floury hands over his face in what looked like some inexplicable kind of exhaustion.
"What?" Taehyung asked confused and a little pouty because he had not been greeted with the typical joy.
"Why, in the name of love, do you have to be a chaos fairy?" Jin asked and ruffled through Taehyung's hair just to look even more unhappy when black sparks cracked on the redhead's shoulders. "You could have been a changeling of any kind, but of course you're of the most exhausting type. I should have known the moment I met you... the toilet paper rolls... and the durst mice..."
"A chaos fairy?" Taehyung asked excited, ignoring Jin's ramble. "How are they born?"
"No one knows," the tooth fairy sighed and crossed his arms in front of his chest, "They're children of a wild magic. That's the reason why they're... not exactly accepted in the community." The blonde looked sorry.
Hoseok who had watched the short interaction from the sideline, now jumped into the conversation with a side-glance at Taehyung who was still processing the new information about himself. "We probably should wait for Namjoon before we start anything."
"Why?" Taehyung wanted to know, looking at the two oldest fairies in disappointment. He did not see a reason why they should wait for the green-haired just because he turned into a fairy. It could take hours until Namjoon arrived, but he wanted to bake cookies.
"Yes, why?" Jimin wanted to know as well and stood next to him, placing an arm around his waist.
Jin sighed. "Because I don't need you to blow up the house."
"Blow up the house!" Taehyung gasped shocked. "I'd never do that!"
The tooth fairy's face softened, and he stroked through his hair lovingly. "I know, Tae, but your magic is different. It's harder to control and you have no experience at all," the blonde tried to argue, but Taehyung would not have that. How could they think he would hurt anyone? He loved his fairy friends; he would never harm them!
"Tae?" Jungkook's voice joined the canon softly. "Jin's right. You know, tornados and thunderstorms are the doing of chaos fairies who can't control their magic."
"Thunderstorms," Taehyung whispered amazed. He could make thunderstorms? That was awesome! Maybe Namjoon would allow him to try and make a room-sized thunderstorm like Yoongi could do those little blizzards.
But before he could voice his excitement, a cupboard door bumped, and a very sleepy Yoongi more fell than flew down onto the kitchen counter, rubbing at his eyes and trying to straighten his messy blue hair. "Morn-" the Christmas fairy tried to say but trailed off when he saw Taehyung. Completely frozen, the blue-haired just stood there and stared.
Was Yoongi scared by his new appearance? Or just overwhelmed? Slowly Taehyung walked closer until they stood in front of each other, but Yoongi was still just staring at him like he saw a ghost. And Taehyung could not refrain from staring as well when he, for the first time, noticed that the Christmas fairy's black cat eyes were framed by soft baby-blue lashes and that his cotton-candy-pinkish lips looked softer than anything he had ever seen before. The blue-haired was, in lack of a cuter word, attractive.
Like he was in a trance, Yoongi's hand reached out for Taehyung's face until his fingertips brushed over skin and got tangled in the fluffy red strands. Softly the Christmas fairy asked, "Is this how birthday wishes work?"
Jin's voice was the first to answer that while Taehyung still was flabbergasted at his blue-haired friend's reaction. "No, birthday wishes are a human constru-" But Hoseok slapped a hand over the tooth fairy's mouth to muffle any disillusioning words.
Taehyung did not really notice what was happening behind him because Yoongi's big-eyed face held his full attention. "Birthday wishes?" he asked, not understanding what the blue-haired was asking for.
"I wished to be as big as you, but now you're as small as I," the Christmas fairy explained. "Is that how it works?"
Yoongi had been wishing to be as big as him? That was too cute to handle, Taehyung decided and, with a bright giggle, slung his arms around the smaller and pulled him into a tight hug. "You're so precious," he mumbled into the blue strands and inhaled the cozy scent of sugar and cinnamon and snow his friend radiated. And hesitantly, two arms slung around him as well.
"Will you stay like this?" Yoongi whispered into the crook of his neck and hugged him a little tighter.
"Dunno," Taehyung whispered back, and his heart suddenly felt heavy. What would happen to all of them if he stayed small?
"Let's have breakfast," Jimin said behind them and the weird silence from before dissolved into the clatter and rumble of breakfast preparations.
"Pancakes will be ready in five," Jin called out and made the pan levitate over to the stove. "Yoongi, please watch over Tae, so that he doesn't touch anything before Joon is here."
"Okay," Yoongi said, back to his original tune and let go of Taehyung only to take his hand and look at him shyly.
A traitorous heat spread on Taehyung's cheeks. Why was it so hard to be normal around his oldest fairy friend? He just was smaller now. Embarrassed, he looked away.
And saw a dust mouse in the corner next to the lower cupboard. Jin would scold him if he saw the gray ball of dirt, so better to let it vanish. Without thinking much, he puled Yoongi after him and down on the floor to where the ugly fluff rested. It looked even more disgusting now that it was bigger than one of his feet, so he just tried to blow it back under the cupboard where it belonged, not wanting to touch it.
But a squeak made him halt in his actions, and shocked he watched how the dust mouse grew dust legs and suddenly ran off on its own.
"Uhm, Jin?" Taehyung asked a little scared after the mouse of the living dead had hid in the place it had come from. Yoongi's hand tightened around his.
"Yeah?" the tooth fairy asked from the stove.
"I dunno what I did but-"
His words were interrupted by a rustle as quiet as a whisper but strangely alien, and in the next moment a whole family of dust mice ran through the kitchen.
"Oh, hell no!" the blonde shouted as he watched the playing gray balls that left fluff everywhere.
But Taehyung could not help himself. He giggled amused at the funny sight, and Yoongi joined him shortly after when they ran away hand in hand from the two mice that had begun to chase them.
"Stop this nonsense!" Jin shouted angrily over the laughter of Jimin and Jungkook, who also seemed to find this rather amusing, and in the next moment the mice were levitated out of the open window by green sparkles, followed by a cloud of dust. "I said don't touch anything," Jin growled much too serious for Taehyung's taste.
"I didn't touch it," he defended himself.
The tooth fairy sighed. "Then just sit still."
And like that was his keyword, Yoongi pulled him back onto table and they sat down next to Jimin, Jungkook and Hoseok to watch Jin working. The Valentine's and the Easter fairy were busy with themselves, and the Hope fairy stared off into nothingness. The orange-haired had said unexpectedly little since this morning and looked uncommonly concerned.
But Yoongi would not allow Taehyung to think about that for too long. "If we mingle magic, we could cause a blizzard," the Christmas fairy whispered into his ear and beamed him a mischievous smile.
Taehyung was rather confused though. "I thought you can do blizzards by yourself."
But Yoongi shook his head. "I can only produce much snow and maybe a little whirl, but nothing like a real blizzard," the blue-haired corrected him.
And, damn, Taehyung wanted to try. His fingertips were prickling from excitement and he burned for it, but Jin had said he should sit still. And so, he tried to fight it down, he really did, but, man, if this was not the most awesome idea he had ever heard of. "Let's try!" he succumbed to the feeling in his tummy and gestured Yoongi to start.
Quietly, the first snowflakes began to fall out of nowhere and second by second it became more.
"Now?" Taehyung asked and Yoongi nodded excited, so he took a deep breath and blew into the little white shower.
And like Yoongi's magic had only waited for his to join it, the flakes were pulled into a small snow tornado that began to whirl over the table.
"Awesome," Taehyung whisper-shouted and the Christmas fairy and he looked fascinated how their creation roamed over the wooden surface, leaving behind a trail of snow.
"Uhm, Jin?" Jungkook blew off their fun.
Traitor...
"Oh, come on!" the tooth fairy whined and levitated an empty water glass over to them that captured the snow tornado, making it look like it was caught in a snow globe. "I hope Joon comes fast," the blonde mumbled.
"A tornado in a water glass. Funny," Taehyung commented and pulled Yoongi up with him to sit next to the little spectacle that was slowly burying itself in its own snow. To watch the small blizzard calmed the tickle in his fingers and the urge to do something stupid that had roared in his guts.
And when his blue-haired friend after some minutes asked, "Can I touch your hair?" he let his head fall into Yoongi's lap with a satisfied smile, and the other began to play with his strands, causing crackling black sparkles to explode around them.

"Cookie time!" Jimin cheered after they had all stuffed their stomachs with food.
Jin gave Taehyung, who made big puppy eyes, a side-glance, but apparently decided that he had behaved good enough in the last half hour, so he agreed with a defeated, "Well, okay." The tooth fairy probably knew what would come at him had he denied them the fun. Jimin would have been unbearable with his whining, and Jungkook would have stared the blonde down because his beloved bed warmer was unhappy. Just Hoseok seemed slightly displeased by the decision, but he did not object.
But however displeased or happy, a knock on the window made all of them freeze for a moment until Jin jumped up and sighed like his savior had arrived. Namjoon stood outside with a warm smile.
"Hello everyone," the green-haired greeted them and halted startled when he saw Taehyung. "What happened to you?"
Taehyung just shrugged.
"Fascinating," was all the gift fairy uttered after a long scrutinizing look and a playful smile tugged on the old fairy's lips. Something must be really amusing, but Taehyung did not see it. It was always like that. Namjoon would say something like interesting, fascinating, or is that so, and then he would stay quiet and just smile like he knew something the others did not. The man was a riddle.
And just as always, he sat on formerly-Jungkook's-now-Jin's bed and pulled a book from nowhere.
"That's it?" Jin asked disappointed. "I was concerned the whole morning just for you to arrive and say 'fascinating'?"
Namjoon shrugged and made an apologetic face. "I never saw something like this, so we'll have to wait and watch."
Jin groaned and Hoseok looked even more uncomfortable.
"Cookies?" Jimin asked shyly into the tense round.
"Cookies," Jin sighed and nodded.
So, they started making dough. Jin was directing them across the counter and everything was going well, until Taehyung found out that if he touched sugar, the crystals would crackle like Sylvester sparklers in his hands, and emptied half of the sugar box under the amazed gazes and giggles of Yoongi, Jimin and Jungkook. After that he was disqualified from the active part of the cookie crew and ordered to sit next to Namjoon on the bed.
Yoongi followed him after some seconds, even though the Christmas fairy had not been scolded, and when his fingers began to fiddle nervously, his blue-haired friend bit by bit handed him sugar crystals he had shoved into his pockets, and they smiled at each other every time a crystal sparked. It was not so bad to be a chaos fairy when you had a friend like Yoongi, Taehyung decided.
Namjoon watched them amused.
"Jimin, I need flour on the counter to roll out the dough," Jin ordered and the small pink-haired ran over to the big bag of flour. He was already covered under a white layer, but his wide smile was unbroken. Jimin loved to work with his hands. The Christmas balls on the tree in the living room were his doing as well. So, with unbroken enthusiasm he lifted the big flour bag... and toppled over, clouding them all in a big white puff of white powder that tickled the nose and caused most of them to sneeze.
And Taehyung really tried to hold back, he really tried, but the tickle was just too strong, and he had to give in. But his sneeze did not come out as cute colorful sparkles but as a fire ball that waltzed over the coulter and blew all of them off into different directions.
Taehyung did not know where up and down was and his ears were ringing from the bang, so he only heard the voice when it was really close to him.
"Taehyung?" it croaked somewhere to his right and in the next second a green mob of hair came into his line of sight and Namjoon helped him up from where he was folded into the edge of the window.
"What..." he tried to ask, but only produced a screeching sound, his throat to constricted by panic to speak.
"Just wait here!" the gift-fairy shouted through the fluff that clogged Taehyung's ears and pulled the little smoldering pillow off the dead cactus' spikes, sitting the shocked chaos fairy down on it. "Don't worry!" And he was gone.
Slowly pulling the blackish blanket next to him against his chest, Taehyung looked around and saw that Yoongi was killing the little fires in the kitchen with snow accompanied by Jin with a wet cloth while Hoseok, Namjoon and Jimin helped a slouched Jungkook from the sink onto the table.
A Jungkook with only one wing.
Taehyung hick-upped on a dry sob and pulled the blanket tighter against his chest. What had he done? What kind of nasty magic was this?
"Tae?" a soft voice next to him asked, "Are you okay?" Yoongi bent down to look at him and stretched out a hand to reach for Taehyung's undoubtedly messy hair, but the redhead flinched. Yoongi should not touch him; he was dangerous. He was a danger to them all! He should better leave before he could create another flour explosion or worse.
Panicked, he zoomed towards the kitchen door and into the living room, hiding under the Christmas tree. But his big-nosed face stared back at him from one of Jimin's glossy Christmas balls and almost scared him to death when he tried to crawl further to the back. He really looked like chaos. Crimson hair, a sooty face and torn pajamas. He was a mess with wings.
With a sigh, he let his forehead drop against his big-nosed mirror-self... and broke the thin glass.
Now that was too much. With a loud wet sob, he dropped on his butt next to the shards and began to cry. Not only had he hurt a friend, but he had also destroyed another friend's hard work. He was so useless as a fairy. Why was he even a fairy? Stupid red hair and stupid black sparkles! And stupid mag-
Someone smelling like cinnamon and snow sat down in his lap and hugged him. "Don't cry. It's not your fault," the Christmas fairy said, but Taehyung did not believe him one bit.
"I'm a u-u-useless mess," he choked out and sobbed into the cinnamon shoulder.
"Maybe a little," Yoongi chuckled and hugged him tighter, "but I still love you."
That only made Taehyung sob louder. "How can you love me when I'm like this?" he cried, and the blinking Christmas tree lights became blurry with the new tears that welled up in his eyes.
The blue-haired sighed and leaned back to cup Taehyung's face. "Because you're still my curous, messy, lovable human, and being small doesn't change that," he said determined.
Taehyung sniffed and tried to blink away some tears. "But I'm not human anym-"
"Oh! There they are!" Jimin's voice shouted from somewhere close, and in the next moment, a pink, a blonde, a black and an orange mop of hair surrounded them and squished them into a breath-shortening group cuddle.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung asked startled, tilting his head to look at a smiling Valentine's fairy.
"Namjoon's seeing the healer fairy off," the raven explained like loosing a wing was something that happened on a daily basis.
"But... but..." Taehyung mumbled confused, looking at a softly smiling Jin and then back at Jungkook.
"Oh, fairy wings can grow back," the Valentine's fairy explained and added proudly, "I had many stupid dogs tearing my wings off while being on a mission."
Taehyung's head felt dizzy. The situation was too overwhelming. So, losing a wing was something that happened on a daily basis? They were not mad at him? They did not hate him?
"I feel left out," a pouting Namjoon made all the heads turn towards him and Taehyung giggled happily when Jin pulled the green-haired into their bone-crushing hug as well.
They did not hate him. He hickuped softly and smiled.

Taehyung woke up with something lying on his chest and the feeling of tears on his face.
"I told you to study longer before doing this," he heard Jin's agitated voice and tried to lift his sleep-heavy eyelids.
"Tae? Tae, I'm so sorry!" This was Jungkook. A very distraught Jungkook.
With all his willpower Taehyung forced his eyes to open and found a red-eyed Valentine's fairy on his chest.
"What's wrong?" he croaked out, slightly confused that the fairy was so small compared to him. Was he human-sized again?
"We mingled magic and he screwed up the emotional part," Jin interfered, hands pushed into his sides and looking displeased.
Mingled magic? Gosh, his brain was slow this early. Jin could do what again? Dreams, right? And Jungkook could do emotions? So... Wait! He had been dreaming of being a chaos fairy? Unsure he turned towards Jin. "What day is today?"
"Christmas," the tooth-fairy grumbled, obviously displeased with the outcome of their experiment.
Taehyung sighed. So, it really had been a dream. With a smile he looked back at Jungkook. "You did good in the end," he assured the fairy and ruffled through the raven strands, only causing the little creature to start crying again.
Jin snorted but looked less annoyed. "Yeah, that was when he threw himself onto you, crying and screaming: No, no, no, you have to smile!"
Taehyung chuckled. "It's fine. It was quite a nice dream. And you know what was best about it?" Jungkook shook his head without looking up. "Making the cookies."
Now a pair of big dark not-so-teary-anymore eyes was looking at him. "I have to wake up Jimin!"

It's a little late for a Christmas story, but last Christmas I completely forgot about this. Sorry for all of you who had to wait so long.
