Chapter 8~ Recovery and another mission!

Wahhhhh I'm so sorry for not updating for so long! I've just been busy working on my black clover books that I completely forgot to make the next chapter ;w;

Anyways, please bear with me as I slowly start updating again!

Fairy Tail Guild Hall, Asura's POV

Urgh.... How long have I been out? Gods, this headache is killing me! It was then that I realized that I was laying in the medical ward of the guild, so I got up. I heard someone gasp, so I turned to see that it was Mirajane.

"Oh hey, Mira. How long have I been out?" I asked her.

"Well, you've been out cold for about two weeks now, everyone's been worried about you! I'll go tell everyone you're awake!" She says to me before she runs out of the room. I stretched a bit before getting out of bed and changed into my usual outfit, which was folded neatly on a nearby chair. I was having a bit of a hard time walking, so I summoned the staff that Casiphae gave me so I could walk easier.

(Here's what it looks like in case you forgot)

I then exited the room before making my way down the main room of the guild hall, where I was greeted by my guildmates. I decided that I wanted to go on a mission, so I walked over to the job board to look at what my options were. It took me a few seconds before my eyes finally landed on a job poster that looked interesting. The job description said that I had to go to a village and capture a beast that has been terrorizing them for some time. The reward for completing this task is one million jewels, as well as some sort of book.

I wonder what kind of book it could be... Oh well, only one way to find out! Before I could take the poster off of the board however, I felt someone rapidly approaching me, so I immediately grabbed their face and slammed them into the wall next to the job board.

(Ignore the text but it's true for me regardless on many social platforms :P)

It turned out to be Natsu. Why am I not surprised?

"Seriously, Natsu? The first thing you do when I arrive is charge towards me? You need to learn by now that my strength far outmatches yours." I said, before taking the job flyer off the board. I then started making my out of the guild, and along the way, I grabbed Gajeel by the collar.

"What-" Was all he managed to say before I interrupted him.

"If you want a chance to redeem yourself, then you're going on this mission with me." I said before dragging him out the doors.

(Here's a visual to help you :P)

On our way through Magnolia, Gajeel had asked me a question.

"So what exactly are we doing on this mission anyways?" He asked.

"The job flyer says that we have to travel to a village in the far west in order to capture a beast that has been terrorizing them for ages. The reward is supposedly one million jewels, along with some sort of magical book. I'm pretty sure that books aren't your thing, so I'll be claiming that. As for the jewels, we'll be splitting that fifty-fifty. You'll get five hundred thousand jewels, and I'll get five hundred thousand jewels." I said to him.

"Uh-huh. So how exactly do we plan on getting there? Cause with how far away that village is, it'll take us at least two days to get there on foot." He says to me, and I smirked before stopping.

"How you may ask? I'll show you, metal face." I said before I whistled quite loudly, and a roar was heard in the distance. Within seconds, a huge, silver scaled dragon landed in front of the two of us with a loud thud.

Gajeel was quite shocked, to say the least.

"Alright, I think introductions are in order. I'd like you to meet Chthonius, the silver dragon. Chthonius, this is my guildmate, Gajeel Redfox. I need you to take us to the village in the far west. Think you can do that for us?" I asked him, and he nodded before kneeling down to the ground, and the two of us climbed onto him. He then got back up off the ground, and we took off.

Insert timeskip here yeet

It had only been about nine hours since we had taken off on Chthonius, and we have finally arrived at the village.

We landed down on the ground. Gajeel and I got off of Chthonius' back, before he took off once more.

"Alright, let's find whoever sent out the job flyer and let them know that we're here." I said, and he nodded before the two of us made our way into the village. One thing that I noticed was that every one of the villagers had some sort of animalistic traits, such as rabbit ears or a dog's tail. As we're walking through the village, many of the children run up to me wanting to play. Gajeel... not so much. Honestly, I kinda pity the guy. It's his looks that are scaring people away.

'Oh well, maybe he'll get better at not scaring every person away just by looking at them.' I thought to myself. After a while of walking, as well as directions that I got from the villagers, we finally made it to the village leader's house. I told Gajeel to stay outside in case something happened. I entered the house, and saw who I presumed to be the leader of the village sitting on a throne of sorts. She was seen wearing a form-fitting black dress with light green accents on the rims of the outfit; the dress left most of her back open, had two long splits on the side which revealed a pair of black shorts, a shorter split in the front and a small squared keyhole. Over the dress, she wore a back-revealing red cape with gold accents, as well as a green waist cincher with red rims that had a black belt over it, which fastened a green pouch on her right hip. Aside from that, she wore black stockings in conjunction with green sandals that had red laces which were tied to her calves, as well as a black elbow length fingerless glove on her right hand. Her animal trait appeared to be a pair of tiger ears that sat upon her head, as well as several tattoos that ran down the length of her arms, like stripes.

"I assume that you and the one standing outside are the mages who've come to capture the beast?" She asked me, and I nodded.

"We are. I am Asura Nightsong, and my partner standing outside is Gajeel Redfox." I say, introducing myself.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, miss Asura. I am called Sienna Khan, but you can call me Sienna, or Miss Khan, whichever you prefer." She says to me, and I nodded.

"Very well, Miss Khan. So please, tell me where this beast is so we can take care of it as soon as possible." I say to her.

"Alright then. From what we've observed, that beast has made its lair deep within the nearby mountains. I would highly suggest that you try to restrict its movements once it's weakened, then force it to assume its smaller form. Once that is done, you put it into a cage that forces it to stay in its small form, as its powers are severely weakened in that state." She said to me, and I nodded.

"Gotcha. Rest assured that this beast will not terrorize your village any longer." I said before I exited her house.

"Well?" Gajeel asks as we start walking again.

"According to Sienna, the beast has made its nest within the nearby mountains. Since you're the one who uses iron type magic, you need to be the one who binds that sucker to the ground, and then once that's done, I'll use my magic to force it into its weak form, and then I'll take care of the rest. Think you can handle that?" I said to him, and he smirked.

"Is that all? This'll be easy!" He laughs.

Have another timeskip yeehaw

"Alright, the lair should be around here, so be on your guard." I said in a hushed voice.

"Well there's no point in saying that if the beast itself is right in front of you." He deadpanned.

"What are you talking about- oh." I said as I turned to be met face to face with the beast.

I quickly analyzed it and determined that it was a shadow wyrm, a lesser race of shadow dragons.

"Alright, let's do this!" I say as I charged towards it readying an attack.

"Dragon God's Divine Claws!" I roared as I delivered a hard blow to the shadow wyrm's chest, which made it roar in pain, and it only got madder as it fired a blast of shadow magic at the two of us. Thankfully, we both dove out of the way before it could either of us.

"Hah! Don't think that you can take all the fun for yourself!" Gajeel says as he gets back up.

"Iron Dragon's Roar!" He roared as he sent out his attack at the shadow wyrm.

It landed a direct hit on the shadow wyrm, and it responded by launching a shadow slash at him, which I blocked using my Dragon God's Protection Field. (See the prologue chapter in case you forgot what it looks like.)

Have another timeskip cause I don't know how to write fights :D

Finally, we managed to weaken the damn thing!

"Now, Gajeel! Bind that thing in chains!" I shouted.

"You don't have to tell me twice!" He said before he charged up his attack.

"Alright! Let's do this! Iron Dragon's Binding Chains!" He roared as several chains appeared and wrapped themselves around the shadow wyrm's legs and neck.

(Like this)

"Alright, now it's my turn." I said as I walked up to the shadow wyrm before I froze, spotting something stuck in its scales. Upon further inspection, I realized that it was a large piece of broken metal.

"It all makes sense now! That thing kept rampaging in the town because it couldn't see through all the pain it was in, thanks to this!" I said as I jumped on top of the shadow wyrm's back, and with some force, I pulled out the piece of metal before tossing it off to who knows where. Upon realizing that the metal was finally gone, the shadow wyrm finally relaxed and collapsed onto the ground. I hopped off of its back before I turned to face it once again.

"You're alright now, friend. Your suffering is over. I'm sure you must hate being stuck in that form for so long, so let's get you into something more comfortable, shall we?" I say, summoning a purple magic circle that had a dragon symbol in it, along with various runes and other symbols.

A bright purple light engulfed the shadow wyrm, and disappeared in a big cloud of smoke. Once the smoke had cleared away, we finally got a look at the shadow wyrm's new form. It now had the appearance of a small purple chick that was a little bigger than a mango, with little black bat wings, black horn like tufts, and a little curl of dark purple hair.

I did the only logical thing and had him sit on my head while we headed back to the village.

The timeskips are almost over, I swear!

We finally made it back to the village, and I went back into Sienna's house.

"Hey Sienna! We took care of the beast! Turns out the poor thing was cranky cause he had a big piece of metal stuck in his scales!" I said to her, and she chuckled.

"I see. Well, since you were kind enough to relieve him of his pain, it would only make sense that you should be the one to take care of him." She says to me, and I nodded.

"Now, let me go fetch you your rewards for finishing your job." She says before she gets up from her seat and walks off to another room. Only a few minutes go by before she returned with a large bag and a book. She handed them to me and I took a good look at the book. It looked a bit strange, mostly due to the fact that it had the letters L and D at the top, as well as a dragon symbol in the middle.

I then divided the jewels into two separate bags, each one containing five hundred thousand. I then thanked her for her time and exited her house. I handed Gajeel his share of the jewels before the two of us headed back to the guild on Chthonius' back once more.

This is the last timeskip woop

We finally made back to the guild. I said my goodbyes to Chthonius before he took off into the sky once more. The two of us walked into the guild building where we were greeted by our guild mates.

"Alright, I gotta hand it to you, mate. You did pretty good out there. Next time I go on a mission, I'll be sure to drag you along!" I laughed before I went to my room, leaving everyone there, (except for Gajeel) dumbfounded.

"Now, either I'm going crazy, or those two are actually getting along now." Gray says.

"Nah man. Me too." Natsu says.
