"I'll keep it, but in one condition," the baritone of his voice reverberating through my bones as he utters those words carefully.
"W-What is it?"
"Let me keep you too," He mumbled, letting his chocolate orbs bore into me as if he is examining the depth of my soul.
Although I didn't do anything, I ran out of breath as I allowed myself to drown with his eyes.
"You're kidding," I shook my head, convincing myself that what he stated is just a part of his miniature games.
Jaehyun jerked his head to the side, "You think I have time for that? I am a businessman, Rosé. I know my priorities and obligations. I know the contrast between the important things and not."
"I am not important. Just let me pass!" I shrieked.
"It is what it is. Let me keep you," Jaehyun moved his face closer to me until I can feel his lips on my ears, "Or else you want me to spill everything about you, fabricated heiress." He whispered.
Jaehyun's voice is both raspy and deep. It's low and soft but powerful enough to send chills through your body.
"Stop playing games with me! You would get no benefit if you announced my real identity to everyone. Just spare me, and I promise you I won't include you with all the games that I am p-playing."
I ultimately faltered in the last word that I said. I can even barely feel anything. And it is all because of Jaehyun's thunder yet gentle chuckle in my ear.
"Too bad I'd like to play along with the games you have planted to," He uttered.
I was getting uncomfortable yet at the same time ample with how close his lip is to my ears, and I abhor it to death. I hate that his breath is so warm to the point that I am developing unidentified chemical reactions in my insides.
"Now what, Rosé?" He uttered once again, brushing my growing emotions away, "Take it or leave it?"
I slacked my jaw as the battle between my heart and mind flashed abruptly.
Of all the things that Irene and I have done... will this finally be the end of it?
Adrenaline overloads my system; it pumps and beats like it's trying to escape. I think my heart will explode, and my eyes are immense with fear. My body wants to either run fast for the safety of the hills or to the crate of weaponry, but instead, I remain where I am.
The only thing that I could do is push him using my tiny hands with my remaining feeble force.
I was successful in pushing him away. Whether Jaehyun just let it happen or he's just as weak as I am right now, I don't know.
He was grinning with no humor while brushing his jaw when he got away from me.
"Why are you doing this?!" I snapped, glaring at him. "Just spare me and let me do these things!"
"I won't let you continue if you won't accept my conditions," He coldly said.
"Damn you!" I pointed my finger on him.
"I get that a lot," Jaehyun proudly grinned.
I don't know if I'll be happy that he knows that he is a scumbag or not. This guy right here is an authentic monster.
"What did I do to you that triggered you to do this?" I asked in a low tone as I fisted my hand.
"I'm not sure, Anne. Have you had any idea?" his smirk widened.
Damn, right. How can I forget that I stole money from him? For sure, that was the reason why he dug something from me.
"I can pay you those 100,000 dollars," I told him.
"Didn't we have this conversation already? I don't accept money as payments."
"C'mon! That's the only thing that I stole from you! I only borrowed it from you. Didn't I tell you too that I am going to pay for it once I am rich? Now, give me your bank account. I'll pay back," I said.
Jaehyun's jaw tightened, "You're wrong. That's ultimately not the only thing you stole from me."
"W-What the hell are you talking about?" I frowned.
"It's–"
I had a hunch about what he will say; hence I put my hands up and wield it dismissively, "Stop! Keep it yourself."
"Why not?" Jaehyun chuckled heartily.
"Just stop," I rolled my eyes, "Tell me about your deal instead."
"I see you are interested with it," he nodded his head slowly.
"So, what is it about really?"
Jaehyun shrugged, "Do whatever I ask you to do. As simple as that."
My eyes widened, "You call that simple?!"
"It is simple," He nodded.
It is not simple. What if Jaehyun asked me to do a sexual interaction with him? I don't want to do that! I may be a defrauder, but I am a dignified woman. Besides, I can't stand being with him. What more having sex with him?
Suddenly, scenarios of Jaehyun touching me started flashing in my mind, which causes me to shake my head and slap my face mentally.
"How can I be so sure that you will keep my secret and identity if I accept your condition?" I asked blushing.
"You're so red," He pointed out.
I glared at him, "I'm not! Tell me about your conditions, you jerk."
He chuckled, shaking his head, "Let's talk about that over lunch tomorrow."
"I don't have time for you," I said as I gave him a dirty look.
"I don't have time to waste as well. I guess, I should start spilling everything to–"
"Fine!" I panicked. "Fine! What time will we meet?"
Jaehyun did not respond. Instead, brought out his phone from his pocket and handed it to me.
I stare at the phone then to him with a cynical face, "What is that for?"
"I have no definite schedule tomorrow so I'll just contact you if I have a free time. I am asking for your number," Jaehyun casually answered.
I hesitated for a second but bit the bait anyway and receive it from his hand. After typing down my number and saving it, I gave it back to him.
Jaehyun have it back and put it inside his pocket again before turning again and started walking.
Half-way of sauntering away from me, Jaehyun suddenly stopped and says, "Now, we're even."
Damn him.

"Table for two, Ma'am?" the waiter asked as soon as I enter the restaurant.
"Uh yes, but I think we have already got a reservation," I informed the waiter, roaming my eyes around the place.
It is luxurious and vast with dazzling gold and silver details. The restaurant itself is quite far from the city, and I am sure you only can eat here when you book two months' advance.
The waiter nodded, "Your name, Ma'am?"
"Rosé Park," I stated clearly.
"Rosé Park," the waiter repeated using his broken English accent as he turned to the computer and typed something, "With Jung Jaehyun?"
"Yes," I nodded.
"We'll guide you to your seat, Ma'am," The waiter stated as he calls out another waiter.
When the waiter heads towards us, he automatically bowed his head curtly to me.
"This way, Ma'am," He stated as he placed his arms in the air accommodatingly.
I blinked. I find it weird that a waiter does this thing to this restaurant. I guess this place is pretty extravagant than I expected it to be.
Naturally, coming from the orphanage, I am not used to things like this. This almost seems and feels like a dream.
"Ma'am?" The waiter asked once again, snapping me back.
"Oh, sure," I agreed, gently nodding my head.
The waiter nodded then soon began to walk first. I, on the other hand, follow him until we arrived at a two sitter table.
"Here's your table, Ma'am. Enjoy your stay," the waiter politely stated.
"Thank you," I said as I finally sat upon the golden chair.
The waiter bobbed his head down before finally walking away from the table.
When I'm at last all alone, I checked my phone and tapped the messenger up, hoping that Jaehyun might have already texted that he is on his way.
But predictably, I got nothing but Irene, who asked me where I am.
Rosé
Just somewhere in Seoul. Met up with Jennie today. I will text you later!
After I had composed a message, I sent it to her and immediately shoved my phone in my handbag.
I didn't share this with Irene – I, meeting up with Jaehyun during lunch. I want to tell her about this, straight from the shoulder. However, I also have no desire to stress her out more because someone finds out about my identity. She giving help to me is enough. I don't want to cause her any burden. Alongside with that, I can handle this mess with Jaehyun anyways. We've talked about it. Although I don't really trust him, I think he is not the kind of guy who creates broken promises.
Since I have got nothing to do but wait for Jaehyun's arrival, I let myself mill around my head towards the whole restaurant.
It is not the kind of place you get a table on impulse, large mullioned windows, long embroidered curtains, dark walnut tables, flowers on each table, soothing live piano music, flagstone tile floor, and many more to mention aristocratic features.
I can even recognize the song playing in the piano. As far as I remember, it is the Nocturne op. 9 no. 2 by Chopin. It is one of my favorite recherché pieces created.
Like a shot, the people from the orphanage suddenly flared on my mind. Chenle, Sister Riza, and even Yuna – I miss them all. How I wish they can all see this spendthrift and prodigal life that I am having right now.
I sighed. I shouldn't think about them right now. My priorities are silencing Jaehyun and marry myself off to Eunwoo.
I have waited for a couple of hours in the restaurant, and there was still no sign of any Jaehyun. I didn't attempt to send him a message. He might think that I am hanging up on him or something.
The waiter tried to get my order twice. On his first attempt, I declined it by telling him that I am still waiting for someone. But when 2 and a half hours passed, I gave my order to him and ate. I am starving and haven't eaten anything for lunch yet. You can't blame me.
Getting impatient, I stood up from the chair and was about to get my handbag when someone held my wrist.
"Where are you going?"
I looked up. As I expected, it was Jaehyun wearing his corporate suit.
"3 hours is enough. I am going home," I sneered, giving him a death stare.
"Sorry. I had a sudden meeting to attend to," Jaehyun tried to explain, his hand loosening up in my wrist, but it was still there.
"I'll just go home. You are wasting my time," I grunted.
"Rosé, we have something to talk to," Jaehyun reminded me as his eyebrow met each other as if he is losing his patience too.
"Exactly," I grinned bitterly. "You've got my number, you should've message me."
Slowly, Jaehyun's forehead creased to a certain extent, which causes me to be alert with what I said.
Did I just make myself look like a mad girlfriend?
"I mean, of course... to inform me or something," I corrected, then bit my lip.
"I get your point. I'll do that next time," Jaehyun uttered.
I pursed my lips into a thin line as I remain silent.
Sometimes, I wonder what is going on in Jaehyun's head. In the event, he was rather cold and ruthless. Right now, he is so benign. What is up with him, really?
"Have you eaten?" He asked all of a sudden, removing his hand carefully on my wrist.
"W-Well... I have." I answered, looking like a foolish girl as I placed my hand clasped together in my back.
Oh, my God! If Jaehyun will continue being like this, what will happen to me next? Blush?
"If that's the case then we'll talk in the car instead of here," Jaehyun says.
"Huh? We can talk here."
"I'll just give you a lift to your condo unit," He answered.
"B–"
Before I even complained, the waiter had interrupted the two of us by handing out the bill of the food I consumed earlier. Jaehyun was fast on getting it, so in the end, he was the one who paid for it.
"I have my money," I told him when the waiter departed off.
"I know, but so what?" Jaehyun disclosed as he turned around, "Follow me. Let's hop in my car now."
Sooner, he started walking away from me.
"Fine, bossy," I rolled my eyes but followed Jaehyun anyway.
I can tell that this restaurant staff knows about Jaehyun; therefore, I guess he is a frequent visitor. I wonder if he eats his dinner here with the woman he once dated.
I mentally facepalm. I shouldn't think of things like that.
Upon reaching his car's spot, Jaehyun immediately hops on it, so I did the same thing and sat on the front seat.
Jaehyun then started driving swiftly while I watch him do it. Somewhat, I am once again looking like someone who is caught up in the moment and fascinated even with his little movements.
I cleared my throat, "So..." I broke the silence.
"What?"
"About your condition, please state it all so we can deal with it easily."
"You are going to be on-call whenever I need your help or something. It may vary through housekeeping down to paperwork," Jaehyun said.
I nodded slowly. That is not what I am expecting it to be. I guess I thought of sexual things too much, so I ended up being malicious.
"So, your rules?" I asked him.
"You go first," Jaehyun stated, his eyes still on the road.
Is he for real? He's asking for my opinion?
"I thought this would be going through your favors? Like your terms and conditions?" I frowned.
"I want to hear yours. Mine will be revealed after you have stated yours," He said.
"Fine," I agreed. "First rule, as much as possible, let's not converse when our friends are around. I don't want any of them to get a hint about the two us. Some news might circulate in our circle and I don't want that to happen."
"Okay. What else?"
"Never command me when they are around too. I don't want to look like your maid when they are around."
"That's easy. Anything else?" he asked, giving me one glance.
"Don't call me during midnight. I sleep early so don't interrupt me."
"Sure. More?"
"Yes. Don't call me during Saturday and Sunday. I need a rest too."
"How about Mondays and Tuesdays? I am busier during that time," Jaehyun asked.
"What can be the difference of it?" I raise a brow.
"I am on half-days during Saturday and Sunday. That's the only time where I can use your services," He stated.
My eyes widened, "Stop addressing it as services! It sounds gross and weird."
Jaehyun looked at me for a second before roaring a baritone chuckle, "It's not. What's up with you?"
I bit my lip. I guess I overreacted a bit.
"Let's go back to the topic," I stated just to save face.
"Go on," he let me.
"When Eunwoo and I have a date, don't call me too."
Jaehyun fell silent and didn't respond, so I had to veer my head to him to wait for his answer.
I saw his Adam's apple bobbed up and down before uttering something.
"But how can I know if you have a date with him?" he questioned.
"I'll tell you about it," I answered simply.
"Okay."
"Okay? Like, you're fine with it?" I made it clear.
"Yeah. You have another?" Jaehyun asked.
"Let's not be friends," I told him.
Jaehyun glance to me sideways, "Why not?"
"Just because," I answered nonchalantly.
"If that's what you want," He said – sounding so disappointed then profoundly sighed, "Anything else?"
"Well... let's have no sexual interaction." I said shyly.
Jaehyun's lips squinted up into a naughty smile, "Okay."
"O-Okay..."
"Don't tell me you're also going to ask for your salary?"
I rolled my eyes but added something to it.
"Oh, yeah, I totally forgot about it," I joked.
"What's your ideal salary?" He added.
Huh, he's still at it. Might as well have a joke time with him.
"Lure me with your offer," I challenged him.
"50,000 dollars a month," He suggested.
"That doesn't sound bad," I nodded with my pressed lips.
"Okay, give me your bank account later."
My eyes went round, "Are you for real?"
"For real."
"All of that for my..." I lost any words to say for it; therefore, in the end, I say, "Services?!"
"Yes, but I have my rule." Jaehyun says.
"And that is?"
"Just stay with me whenever I ask you to."
