Mission Impaired

Elizabeth crept along the dark path. She could hardly see anything and had to use the light from the moon to see where she was going. She had left just ten minutes after the others had left and she had no clue where she was going. She followed the path and when she turned back she could no longer see the mansion.

She had no idea what she was doing out here in the middle of the dark. But she had to see for herself just where they were headed. It seemed like forever and the crowing of birds freaked her out. In the distance a wolf howled at the moon.

She needed to hurry if she wanted to make it back before she would get eaten by a while animal. She walked for ten minutes before she had officially gotten lost. It was severely dark and she felt the cold wind slap against her uncovered hands. She had only brought her hunter green cloak as she didn't think it would take long to find some stupid well.

As she kept walking forward the trees and bushes shook every now and then. She felt her heart accelerate as she kept hearing strange noises. She kept walking have no clue where the path could lead her to. Until she finally noticed a rope tied to a tree. She followed the thick rope all the way to the end and her eyes grew wide.

After an hour she had finally found the well! She peered down into it and all she saw was darkness. Pacing back and forth she contemplated if it would be a good idea to catch up to the others. That way she could apologize to Shogun and maybe even convince him that they could work things out.

She wasn't about to let some spoiled brat take her fiancee. Not without a fight. So with a deep breath she braced herself while lifting one leg into the well. Her hands turned white as she gripped the edge tightly. One leg was in while the other was still out, she could smell the dirty water coming from the well.

She resisted the urge to gag. She gripped the rope in her hands readying herself to climb down the well. Just as she wa about to lower herself she felt a tug on her long dress. Panicking she looked to see Ezra's dog pulling her dress as if to pull her back out.

"Let go you stupid dog"! She casted a ring of fire around the dog causing it to panic and scream in pain. With a satisfied smirk she tried to lower herself again when her hand didn't quite clutch the rope properly.

She screamed loudly as she fell down the well plunging straight into the portal. She landed with a thud on the hard floor knocking her out cold.

Meanwhile, Ezra, Shogun, and Callie were making their way down the deep tunnel. They each had there own candle that they lit to be able to see where they were going. It was a long dark tunnel and the floor was wet as if it had been raining.

When they got to the well the bright blue light wasn't shining but they had climbed down using the rope to keep steady. Now they were on the move not sure where they were headed. Shogun lead the way making sure the two girls were alright.

Callie had pointed out a white light as they got further into the tunnel. After walking for 45 minutes they finally reached a stone wall.

"This is a dead end. Now what are we going to do" ? Callie asked shivering a bit due to it being cold in the tunnel. They had only brought there cloaks and a pair of leather gloves.

Shogun placed his hand on the stone wall when it suddenly dissolved. Ezra gasped when it opened up to reveal they were stepping into a forest. The trees were large and a huge waterfall sat beautifully overlooking the giant plants.

The sky was blue and bubbles floated around in the air. "This place... it's breathtaking" Ezra exclaimed looking around her. She took off her leather gloves walking around the large forest.

"We need to keep moving... if we want to find Emily" Shogun said bringing her out of her fantasy. He knew they were no longer in there territory. The well was some portal that lead to the other side.

The Aquakinesis nation.

They kept moving as they weaved their way through the forest. It was very quiet which made Shogun more anxious. He had beard horror stories about the other nation. How they lacked sympathy and used gruesome tactics to get their point across.

When Shogun was eight years old his father had been part of the nation army. He'd be gone for days at a time while there mother would stay home and take care of him and his brother alone.

His father had been sent on a mission to raid the other nation. Apparently they were holding hostage deadly weapons. Someone had started a rumor that the Aquakinesis nation were going to send bombs. This of course put everyone on edge.

His father had left that morning feeling confident. He promised he would be back the next morning. But when the next morning came a sergeant had come to deliver his hat and the sad news.

He had been brutally murdered in cold blood. That was why he vowed to never step foot on there land. If his mother knew she would be furious and that was something he did not need.

They kept walking when the sound of footsteps could be heard. It sounded as if someone was running Shogun told them to hide. Ezra gracefully climbed a tree and Shogun looked on in amazement.

"Shogun hide"! Callie whisper yelled and he immediately got out of his stupor. Callie hid behind a tree as did Shogun and he peeked just a little to see who the person was. When he peeked he was surprised to see a bleeding faced Elizabeth dropping to the ground out of breath.

"What the hell are you doing here" ?! Shogun said finally stepping out from behind the tree. Elizabeth looked on with shocked eyes and took a deep gulp.

This was definitely a mission Impaired.
