A Dangerous Plan

The next day Ezra had been busy all day as people made their way inside the mansion. Today they were throwing a group picnic for all the privileged people. She had been hanging off of Jerome's arm the entire time much to her dismay.

The whole thing was boring so she made her way to the snack bar. She stuffed her face with cream puffs as people greeted her as they walked by. Her feet were practically screaming from wearing heels the whole day.

She watched as her father mingled around talking to different sergeants. The fire nation was a big community and had lots of opportunities. No one ever talked about the other nation on the other side.

" Save some for the rest of us" a voice teased. Ezra turned to see Shogan walking towards the snack bar. He looked handsome today in a navy blue suit. It brought out his dark hair and golden eyes.

"Please all this food will just be thrown away. None of these people will eat them especially the women trying to save there figure". She rolled her eyes plopping another creme puff in her mouth.

Shogan shook his head. He watched from the corner of his eyes as she continued snacking. She looked absolutely beautiful in her baby blue gown. Her dark hair was up showing off her radiant neckline. She was quite short and the dress brought out her green eyes. He didn't know what had gotten into him but he couldn't deny her beauty.

It surely ignited something within him but he knew he had to keep his desires at bay. She was to be his sister in law and soon she would be married to his brother. Something about that thought irritated him to the core.

"Would you like to go for a walk" he asked wanting to get away from here. Shocked she nodded her head, he held out his arm for her to take and they began to walk away from the large gathering.

"So tell me more about yourself" Ezra said making conversation. They walked along the pond slowly enjoying the view.

"Uhh well I come from a high standing family. Which I presume you already know. I love to build things... I actually have several projects I've been working on for the past few months. I could show you them if you'd like".

"So you are into architecture. Interesting" she said as they kept on walking. They talked about everything until a maid had come to fetch Ezra.

"Ms. your father requests your presence" the maid said. Ezra bid farewell to Shogan before leaving with the maid. He continued on his walk not wanting to go back to the picnic just yet. As he thought about his life he had always had a thing for building things.

In a couple of months he had planned to attend school in the states. But something seemed to hold him back and he didn't want to admit it. He barely knew the girl yet his heart yearned to know more.

It seemed they were worlds apart. He was younger than his brother by a year. Even if it did seem he didn't have his life together he knew he was trying to figure it all out. With a crazy mother she had made sure her two boys got the most out of life.

Relentlessly Shogan made his way back to the picnic. He eyes immediately searched for the dark haired girl. She was talking to a blonde haired women, he made his way to his brother's side.

Meanwhile Ezra sat talking to her bestfriend since they were children. Callie lynn Browet was a gorgeous blonde hair women with beautiful big brown eyes. She almost resembled a soft teddy bear with her larger than life doe eyes.

"Sooo tell me how are the wedding plans going" Callie asked as they sat in the shade.

"Ugh I rather not say. I'm not the least bit excited for this wedding". Ezra said with a roll of her eyes. She plopped a grape into her mouth before her eyes met Shogans. It seemed he had been staring at her the entire time catching her attention. He mouthed something that she couldn't understand.

"It seems you have an admirer" Callie noticed nudging her head towards Shogans direction. Immediately Ezra's face turned red with embarrassment.

"I have no idea what your talking about. And besides he is to be my brother in law. Nothing could ever happen between us". She needed to straighten her priorities and not lead him on. He would only get hurt in the end.

No matter how much she told her father she didn't want to marry Jerome he wouldn't listen. It was like talking to a brick wall. "What about your powers? Have they come in yet"? Callie asked seeming concerned.

When Callie turned sixteen she had gotten her powers. Ezra remembered the day she came running to her house. She showed her all types of tricks she could do and it made Ezra even more excited for hers to come.

"Unfortunately I've had no such luck. I... I don't know what's wrong or how to fix this sort of thing. I've had every single doctor in the nation come and examine me. But it's like no one has any clue". It stressed her out thinking about it.

"I do know someone that maybe able to help. But their methods will be different". Ezra raised a brow in concern at Callies words.

"And what would these methods entail. It better not be something crazy" Ezra warned already not liking the idea.

"Well... let's just say she lives on the other side" Callie said taking a sip of her drink. She looked at Ezra's confused reaction.

"You mean... like... on the other side of the wall? Callie you know we are forbidden from going over there. If we went over there they wouldn't hesitate to kill us". Ezra had never been to the other side of the wall before. Mostly because it was forbidden for anyone to go over there.

Once you stepped foot on the Pyrokinesis land they ultimately had control over you. They could make you their prisoner for however long they wanted. She had heard horror stories of the barbaric methods they used to execute prisoners.

"I promise it isn't as bad as people say. I know this women who can probably help. She's really amazing in her work and she's taught me a lot" Callie said reassuringly.

"How were you even able to get to other side? I mean without being caught. You could have been killed". Ezra shook her head she felt terrified about going through with this plan. Even if she did sound reassuring there was still a fear of being caught.

"It was only a suggestion. I know a secret passage way we can go through. But if you don't want to I understand. But Ezra I promise you I wouldn't tell you this if I didn't think this would help you in some way. She saved Matthew when he was on his death bed. I wouldn't put you in a dangerous position ever" Callie pulled her into a hug.

Ezra remembered when Callies younger brother Matthew was ill. He had a hot stone fever where his powers had overheated his body. They thought he wasn't going to make it. But when the next few days past he appeared to be back to normal.

But Callies plan was absurd. She was the future queen and she could not risk it. For if her people ever found out she could not only lose her power.

She could lose her head...
