Chapter Eight

~Y/N POV~

I feel so old. In a couple of months I'll be 29 years old and I'm not one bit closer to finding love. Maybe I'm just unlucky in that love department and should give up. Obviously it's just not in the cards for me in this life.

Sitting in the staff room I was a little depressed with that thought. I only started thinking about it because my mom sent me a text reminding me of that fact. It wasn't meant to be in a harsh way she's just trying to push me to go out dating again.

It's only been six months since Namjoon and I called it quits.

But still seeing him around the building since we work in the same building is hard. I already moved from one company building to another from an ex, I don't want to do it again. That would mean moving across the country from my friends and family and I'm just not bothered to do that.

It may be hard to see Namjoon around but I'm sure I'll get over it some day.

One day.

Possibly.

Letting out a loud sigh I was already fed up with the day, leaning against my hand as I picked at my salad in front of me on the table. Sitting in this staff room by myself. It's a little lonely at the moment but I'm expecting Skye to come in any moment. She told me she would meet me here but I know she's super busy running after our boss who has her running around like a headless chicken right now.

Taking out my phone I did something I really shouldn't.

I ended up flicking through my pictures of Namjoon and I that I still have on my phone while playing with my necklace around my neck that I still have. Fiddling with the metal between my fingers. It doesn't have the same chain as it did when Jungkook gave it to me but I just changed the chain and kept the charm. It reminds me of easier times and my first love. Reminding me of my first and last love was not what I should be doing to myself right now but I can't help it.

I'm lonely and slightly on the verge of becoming depressed. Or so my mom says.

But I am lonely though.

"You really shouldn't be going through those pictures Y/n." ?

Out of fright I yelped dropping my phone on the table to turn around and see Skye standing there, hands on her hips and brow raised. Great I'm in trouble.

Sighing I turned back around to the front of the table, putting my phone away in my pocket while Skye took a seat beside me.

"Give me your phone and I'll delete those pictures." Skye

Holding out her hand I scoffed but pushed her hand away. I'm not ready to get rid of them yet even if it has been six months. I'll delete them in my own time.

"No. Just give me some more time."

She hummed at me and brought up her elbows to rest on the table but support her chin to hold up her head.

"Did you bring lunch?"

She shook her head, puckering her lips.

"Nope and I'm not even that hungry anyway." Skye

"I think I should start packing you lunch in the morning. Junwoo would kick your ass if he knew you weren't eating or better yet Soobin!"

She gasped and threw me daggers, squinting her eyes at me when I mention her boyfriend who also lives with us along with Junwoo. The four us living in a three bedroom apartment together actually works.

"Don't you dare tell Soobin. I don't care if you tell Junwoo but don't tell Soobin." Skye

"But you know if I tell Junwoo he'll be the one to tell Soobin so either way you're still screwed."

She rolled her eyes at me but started to smile when I laughed at her. It wasn't a loud laugh just a little more since I don't do much of that either lately.

"Hey did you hear back from Hoseok?" Skye

I perked up instant remembering I spoke to Hobi last night in a video chat. For years we talked over the phone and I've seen him in persona couple times too but last night we talked a great length about him coming to the city for the first time since finding out his sister is clear of cancer and he feels she would be okay for a little while.

"Yes I did! He'll be here tonight and he's more than happy to come clubbing with us tonight too! I think he's just happy to try and get back to a city life like he had before helping out his sister."

Skye's smile widens as she continued to watch me beam about Hoseok coming back. I honestly couldn't wait. Without a doubt out of all my ex's Hobi is the one that never disappointed me. We always talked every week, came to help me move out my stuff from Taehyung's apartment when we broke up. Stays up all night talking to be over the phone when I have a hard time about the break up with Namjoon. He's just been there for everything and never disappointed me in any way.

"I think he's just happy to be coming back to you." Skye

I blushed hard and looked away from her trying to hide it but she caught me red handed.

"Y/n you're blushing." Skye

Poking at my cheeks I swatted her away which caused her to laugh at me.

"No but seriously. I think you two should get back together. You never know, Hoseok might be the one you're destined to actually be with Y/n." Skye

I have thought about it but I wont admit it to her. If there is anyone I would talk to about it, it would be Hobi himself. I can talk to him about anything, even something like this.

"Maybe. I'll talk to him about it."

She patted my shoulder and threw a smile my way.

"Please do. He would be really good for you Y/n but you know that already don't you?" Skye

I nodded at her and picked at my salad again. I was no longer interested in it so I just pushed it in front of her.

"Here you can have this, I don't want it anymore."

Her eyes lit up and I passed her my plastic fork.

"Thanks!" Skye

Straight away she began to eat it and I chuckled at her. So much for not being hungry you little liar. But everything else she said just now was right. I think Hobi would be great for me, that is if he would like to start things up again now that his sister is alright.

One can hope I guess.
