Chapter Three, Failed Stealth Mode

Later that night the three girls met up in Carlos and Jay's room, Jay smiling widely and winking at Eris as she entered causing a blush to appear on her cheeks. He was standing by his bed pulling out all of the things he'd stolen from his hiding places on his person while Carlos was playing some sort of interactive video game.
"What are you doing, Jay?" Mal asked.
"It's called stealing." Jay replied sassily, making Eris laugh a little while Evie smirked.
"Okay, what's the point?" Mal asked confused.
"Well, Mal, it's like buying whatever I want, except it's free." Jay said, pulling a laptop out from behind his back.

"Okay, you can do that, or you could leave all of this here and come pick it up when we take over the world." Mal stated. Evie and Eris were now sitting on Carlos's bed touching up their lipstick a little but mainly just listening to the conversation, though Eris really wanted a go on the video game.
"You sound just like your Mum." Eris and Evie deadpanned.
"Thank you!" Mal said happily, taking it as a compliment even though she knew it wasn't.
"You do it your way, Mal, and I'll do it mine." Jay said slightly annoyed.

"Die, suckers!" Carlos shouted at the game, breaking up the slightly awkward tension. "Jay, come check this thing out! Man, it's awesome!"
"Can I have a go?" Eris asked, taking off her jacket causing Jay to stare at her for a moment before he shook his head.
"Sure." Jay smiled at her, handing her the sticks that Carlos had previously handed him. All of them watched interestedly as Eris skilfully played the game and even beat Carlos's high score.
"Thanks Jay." Eris said, handing him the sticks and kissing his cheek as she joined her sisters at the table. Jay blushed with a goofy smile on his face as he started playing the game.
"Guys!" Mal shouted, gathering everyone's attention as Jay was into the game shouting exclamations while Carlos, Evie and Eris watched.

"Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" Mal asked rhetorically.
"Fairy Godmother... Blah, blah, blah. Magic wand... Blah, blah, blah." Jay replied sassily, making the others laugh.
"This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents." Mal shouted, causing them all to freeze. "To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?"
"Yeah." They all agreed with a despondent sigh.
"Evie, E, mirror me." Mal ordered, but paused when she noticed Eris's golden eyed glare. "Sorry. Can we have the mirror please." Mal apologised to her little sisters as they all gathered around the table.

Evie sat next to Mal with Eris on her other side, Jay stood behind Eris looking over hers and Evie's shoulder while Carlos stood opposite Mal with the stolen laptop in front of him.
"Do you want to do it?" Evie asked Eris.
"No, it's okay Eve. I'll use it next time. We agreed to take it in turns using the mirror and spell book, remember?" Eris asked with a smile. Evie nodded and took the mirror out of her red bag.
"Mirror, mirror on the... in my hand. Where is Fairy Godmother's wand stand?" Evie asked.
"There it is!" Mal gasped, when the wand appeared.
"Zoom out." Carlos asked.
"Magic mirror zoom out a little." Eris asked, knowing you needed to be specific.
"Can I go back to my game? I'm on level three." Carlos asked.

"Stop!" Jay shouted, when a picture of where the wand was being held appeared.
"It's in a museum?" Mal asked confused. "So anyone know where that is?" Carlos started typing away on the laptop and quickly found where it was. "Let's go." Mal said.

A few minutes later the group arrived at the museum following the directions from the mirror. After Mal did a spell to put the guard to sleep and Eris did a spell to open the locked doors, they quickly but quietly made their way through the museum following the directions but they ended up taking a wrong turn and ended up in a hall filled with statues of their parents and immediately became more scared of their parents then they already were.
"Killer!" Jay gasped, staring at his father in his prime.
"I'll never forget Mother's Day again!" Carlos muttered afraid.
"Mummy. Daddy." Evie and Eris mumbled, staring at their parents, while Mal had her wide, eyes fixed on Maleficent.  

"Well, the wands not here. Let's bounce." Jay stated, clapping his hands and turning away only to pause when he noticed no one was moving. "Let's go." He said, finally getting the others to follow.
"Come on Mal." Eris said, linking her arm through her eldest sister's and leading her away.
"We found the wand!" Evie shouted, from another room getting Eris and Mal to run in that direction.
"There it is." Evie said happily, as they looked down at the wand.

"Whoo!" Jay shouted excited, running towards the golden gates that led down to the wand while Carlos laughed and held the gate open for the girls. As they entered the room they noticed that the wand was behind a wooden barrier, floating in mid air and shrouded in blue light.
"Jay, don't." Mal shouted, when Jay went to go under the barrier.
"Wait! No, no don't!" Eris and Mal shouted, but Jay didn't listen and ducked under the barrier and reached for the wand. Two things then happened in quick succession: Jay was suddenly flung backwards and a loud siren sounded which almost deafened them all as they covered their ears.
"A force field and a siren?" Carlos asked.
"That's just a little excessive." Jay shouted, over the siren groaning in pain.
"Let's go." Eris said.

They ran out of the museum Carlos thankfully saving their hides as he cancelled the siren and answered the phone while quickly coming up with a lie about it being a false alarm in the breadboard circuit so they weren't suspected.
"Thanks Carlos." Eris said gratefully, once he'd caught up with them outside.
"You're welcome." Carlos said, with a large grin.
"Well done Jay. Now we have to go to school tomorrow." Mal complained, as they ran back to the school and successfully snuck back into their own dorm rooms and turned in for the night.
