This week's national finals
Hey!
I'm currently working on some other tops (including one of 2017), but right now I wanted to share my tops of all of this week's national finals, so here they are:
Boevizija 2018 - SERBIA
It was a bit hard to make a top out of these songs as they kind of all sound the same to my ears. I like my top three though, and to some extend, my top five. The rest is more or less okay, but let's face it, it's a very weak selection.
17. BASS - Umoran
16. Rambo Amadeus i Beti Đorđević - Nema Te
15. Srđan i Emil - Bar Da Znam
14. Lana i Aldo - Jača Od Svih
13. Ivan Kurtić - Ni Sunca, Ni Meseca
12. Osmi Vazduh & Friends - Probudi Se
11. Dušan Svilar - Pod Krošnjom Bagrema
10. Danijel Pavlović - Ruža Sudbine
9. Saška Janks - Pesma Za Tebe
8. Maja Nikolić - Zemlja čuda
7. SevdahBABY - Hajde Da Igramo Sada
6. Koktel Balkan - Zato
5. Boris Režak - Vila
4. Lord - Samo Nek Se Okreće
3. Sanja Ilić & Balkanika - Nova Deca
2. Igor Lazarević - Beži Od Mene
1. Biber & DJ Niko Bravo - Svatovi
Once again, I'm not a huge fan of the selection, and I hope that only my winner will win. But then, whoever they send, they're gonna stay in their semi...
Unser Lied Für Lissabon - GERMANY
I'm not sure whether Spain or Germany (or maybe even the UK) will finish last this year, we'll see. Cause let's face it, even if their selection isn't that bad, it's not awesome. To be honest, I don't really have high hopes for our lovely neighbors this year :/
6. Natia Todua - My Own Way --> I just can't stand her voice. Too bad cause the song's not awful...
5. Ryk - You and I --> here, you have a good example of the bad ballad. Nice voice though.
4. Xavier Darcy - Jonah --> I'm not even sure whether I like this one or not, to be honest.
3. Ivy Quainoo - House On Fire --> and in this episode of "German ESC plagiarisms", we've got Ivy Quainoo, with her song "Diamonds"... I mean "House On Fire", a big round of applause please. No but for real, Germany, will you ever stop? At least it's way more subtle than last year, but please. Don't tell me that I'm the only one hearing Rihanna's Diamonds in the chorus...
2. voXXclub - I Mog Di So --> this is awesome x)
1. Michael Schulte - You Let Me Walk Alone --> here, you have a good example of the quality ballad. Nice voice though. Besides, can someone please remind me what happened last time Germany sent a guy with a ballad?
Just... good luck Germany. You've got two "escape bottom five" tickets, so please, please take them.
O melodie pentru Europa - MOLDOVA
After last year's awesomeness, I really hoped that Moldova could bring us another great track this year... and it seems that it's possible! It's not as good as Hey Mamma!, but it can still make an impact in may, or at least I hope so. I like my top five, and escpecially my top three.
16. Ruslan Tsar – Come To Life
15. Anna Timofei – Endlessly
14. Cobilean Constantin – Numai Tu
13. Che MD – Inima-n Stanga
12. Viorela – The Gates Of Love
11. Bella Luna – Moments
10. Felicica Dunaf – Alien
9. Nicoleta Sava – Esencia Del Sur
8. Anna Odobescu – Agony
7. Lavina Rusu – Altundeva
6. Sandy C & Aaron Sibley – Once Upon A Time
5. Tolik – Broken Glass
4. Doinita Gherman – Dance In Flames
3. Vera Turcanu – Black Heart
2. Ilia Soroceanu & Dasha DaGro – Minds & Veins
1. DoReDos – My Lucky Day
As much as I like my second, there's only one song that I see winning here. Oh, and before you ask me, Endlessly is boring af and her voice is annoying.
A Dal - HUNGARY
I like more or less every song in this final, but there is only one that I want to see winning, is it still necessary to precise which one :')
8. Zsolt Süle - Zöld A Május --> I kind of like this, to be honest
7. Gábor Heincz Biga - Good Vibez --> more like Nicky Byrne 2.0 vibez (oh and please, that "z" instead of a regular normal "s"...)
6. Viktor Király - Budapest Girl
5. Gergely Dánielfy - Azt Mondtad
4. Leander Kills - Nem Szól Harang --> still not used to that revamp
3. Tamás Horváth - Meggyfa --> to be honest I'm glad that the juries don't like it, at least, we now know that it won't win (hopefully)
2. AWS - Viszlát Nyár --> now they will probably win, and I don't mind that much, but still, in my opinion you've got better
1. yesyes - I Let You Run Away --> I really hope that they'll stop revamping it cause every revamp slowly takes away something interesting in the song, and makes it a bit more... generic? I still love it though, but I think they should let it that way until the end. I'm also glad they got rid of these backing vocalists, because it sounded awful :')
Supernova 2018 - LATVIA
I'm so, so, so, so glad that Sudden Lights got the wildcard! :D
8. Ritvars — Who's Counting
7. Markus Riva — This Time
6. Lauris Valters — Lovers Bliss
5. Liene Greifane — Walk the Talk
4. MADARA — Esamiba
3. Edgars Kreilis — Younger Days
2. Sudden Lights — Just Fine
1. Laura Rizzotto — Funny Girl
No seriously, that news made my day! :D
EMA - SLOVENIA
Good luck qualifing to the grand final in May, Slovenia, good luck...
8. Marina Martensson — Blizu
7. Ina Shai — V Nebo
6. Proper — Ukraden Cvet
5. Indigo — Vesna
4. Lea Sirk — Hvala, Ne!
3. Nuška Drašcek — Ne Zapusti Me Zdaj
2. Lara Kadis — Zdaj Sem Tu
1. BQL — Ptica
No but for real my slavic brothers, what's going on with your national finals? Wake up!
Vidbir - UKRAINE
My favorite national selection so far, I like almost every song, which means that almost anyone can win this Saturday I'd be still happy.
6. Vilna — Forest Song
5. Laud — Waiting
4. Kadnay — Beat Of The Universe
3. The Erised — Heroes
2. Tayanna — Lelya
1. Melovin — Under The Ladder
But once again, anyone in my top four can win I'd be still happy (and sad at the same time because it would mean that Vidbir is over; I'll miss the jokes by the host and Danylko :') Also, I keep on switching my third and my fourth, so don't be surprised if I change my mind.
I think that's all °° I really want to do the rest of the NFs, but I'll wait a bit more so I can cover all of them (or almost) ^^
