The next day, I had school, this included my friends and my sister. During PE, I tried my best to work on my powers. I only had control of earth most of the time. Anytime I tried to use any other element, earth would react instead. It was quite annoying.
"I can't do it!" I yelled at my hands in frustration.
A large hand gripped my shoulder and squeezed. I turned to face Jeriard. He had a soft smile on his face with bright green eyes that displayed hope and love. "Don't say that. I know you have it in you. I know you can do it," he tried to cheer me up. "Don't give up." I nodded. I am determined to control my powers. I tried using fire by lighting my lighter that Jeriard had given me the day I knew I could control it.
I focused on the flame. I motioned my hand from the fire to the sky to try to make it grow. Nothing happened. I got frustrated and then the flame went out. I sighed. I'm so useless. I looked up at Jeriard and sighed. He laughed. "Don't worry." Ugh. I'll try not to, but it will be difficult. He started walking away. Raphael's small grey wolf padded over to Jeriard and barked, his tail was always between his legs. He nipped at Jeriard's shirt so Jeriard shifted into his slightly larger black wolf and chased Raphael away. I think they were playing tag. It was a free day during PE today anyway.
Millicent's POV
I sat in the corner of the field with my black hoodie pulled up over my head so no one can see my face. The face of a murderer. I watched Rose as she struggled to control the elements only kicking up dirt and rocks. She has it hard. The weight of a species' existence rests almost entirely on her shoulders. Of course I can help, but there is so much I can do. I am not a fast killer. I'm the type to stalk and think my steps through tiring my victims then striking a blow from all the strength they had no idea they gave me. I might as well be the scariest creature in the world. I don't even know what I am.
I noticed two feet step in front of me. I didn't have to look up to know who it was, though. "Are you alright?" Raphy asked. I sighed inwardly. Why can't he leave me alone? I don't need him or anyone. I am better off alone. "You know you don't have to hide that face of yours, right?" I grunted out loud. I felt my hood slowly being pulled off of my head. I glared at Raphy who was now kneeling in front of me. "Your eyes look beautiful even when you're mad, but why are you mad?"
I gritted my teeth. I looked into his cloudy grey eyes and I gasped when I felt a pang in my chest. I shook away the new feeling and responded, "Stop bothering me... I do everything alone." I kept glaring at him.
He chuckled. "You don't have to anymore," he said offering his hand. I glared at it, now. He chuckled again. He reached for my hand and when he grabbed it, I felt a shock jolt through my body so I flipped him over crashing him to the ground. He grunted and winced in pain, but tried smiling anyway. "I deserved that." He got up and wiped his jeans off. His brown hair was all disheveled. It made me slightly giggle, but I immediately stopped. I won't have a weakness. I'm better off alone.
He offered his hand again. This time I took it. The shock made me almost pull away, but Raphy quickly pulled me into a hug. His body heat warmed me and I felt.. safe? What is this weird feeling? It's so warm... so... addicting.
I instinctively breathed in his scent. He smelled like barbecue smoke and dirt. It smelled delicious. I noticed what I was doing so I pushed Raphy away. "No! I-I can't!" I yelled in protest. The only thing I will cause him is pain and suffering. Thats what happens to everyone I hold too close. I can't lose him. I mean... I can't let any one get hurt. I put my hood back on and ran away. I ran away from Raphy and away from my inner pain.
Rose's POV
I gave up on my powers for now. I saw Jeriard's black wolf pinning Raphel down. I ran to him and tackled Jeriard's wolf down. Jeriard growled at me and I laughed. He doesn't scare me one bit. 'You wanna challenge an Alpha?' He teased.
He stalked around me in circles. I smirked at him. He pounced at me but I hit him with a rock on his head. Hah! I win! 'It isn't that easy" oh no! He got up and bounded towards me at full force. I got paralyzed with fear and suddenly I put my hands up and Jeriard was pushed violently back by a strong gust of air. He crashed into Raphael, who was trying to get up. They both fell to the floor. A serious dog pile. I shivered in fright and confusion. Why do my powers work when I don't mean them too? I have to figure this dilemma out. I groaned and hissed through my bow gritted teeth. This is getting annoying. The bell rang and I walked back into the school to get changed and finish the rest of my classes.

Finally it was Friday again. I absolutely made no progress in any of my elements except earth. I can now use the earth as a weapon by... well, making it into weapons. I made a sharp weapon today.
"Fight me, Alpha!!" I yelled. I wanted to test the skills I've gathered this weak. Jeriard smirked.
"I like the way that sounds sliding from your sweet tongue," he chuckled. "I'll fight you, even though I know you will lose."
His confidence made me angry and I could feel my eyes drying up. I will finally win for once. I threw the earth up that he was standing on into the sky, making him fly with it. He shifted into his majestic black wolf and crashed into the ground. But he quickly jumped to his feet. He growled at me, warning me that he will give his all. He kicked up dirt as he ran toward me. I stood my ground. He lunged at my arm, but I moved it from his grasp. He skid on the floor to turn directions, which I used to my advantage. A spike of earth stabbed him in the soft belly. He helped in pain and struggled to get to his feet. Suddenly, I was pinned to the ground. Small paws held my arms to the ground. It was Raphael. He bit onto my shoulder and I yelled from the pain. Tears pricked at my eyes. I saw Jeriard's wolf standing before me and he lifted his paw to strike me down. But I managed to push Raphael off and move out of the way. I winced as the sudden movement made my shoulder sting. Anger trembled inside of me.
The ground started shaking throughout the field. I brought my hand up and earth followed. It wrapped around my hand and I yelled, "I will be strong for you!" The earth morphed into a sword and I held it to the sky. Time to finish our game.
I ran at the now surprised Jeriard and struck him with my sword of earth and then I turned to Raphael and sliced at his shoulder. He whined and fell to the floor in a bloody heap. Pay back can be a bitch. I smiled in satisfaction. My eyes burned in delight. My sword crumbled but I stood tall. I have finally gotten a hang of my earth powers.
So now I'm at the pack house watching Raphael training. He was physically weaker than the other wolves in the pack, but he was faster and had more spirit. I believed in him. We will both grow strong.
Millicent's POV
I hid in the shadows of the trees. As I watched Raphy training against a bigger dark grey wolf. Raphy was fast but I knew he stood no chance against that opponent. I'm not sure he could stand any opponent bigger than him. I sighed and started sitting down.
Raphy was on the ground again. It was the fifth time. He was all scratched up, his shimmering grey fur was now dull and matted a bit. I hated to see him so defeated. I'll let him train. Maybe he will grow stronger from it.
I was about to teleport back to my cabin in the woods, where I lived for the passed few months, but I sensed someone nearby. I heard a twig snapped and I turned toward the sound. "Milli. Why are you spying?" Henry asked with a smirk.
I grunted. "I'm not spying and watching over my sister Rose," I defended.
He laughed, "It looked like you were more interested in watching over your boyfriend than your own sister."
I gritted my teeth. He's not my boyfriend. "He is not my boyfriend!" I yelled.
This made him laugh more. "Keep your hood out of a knot. No need to cause a scene. I'm just here to ask you a question," he admitted.
I straightened out and relaxed a bit, "What question?"
He suddenly poised in front of me. His face was centimeters apart. I didn't waver, I stood my ground. "Why do you push away your soul mate?"
I glared at his black eyes and his cunning smirk. What nonsense is this demon blabbering about? I don't have a soulmate. Demons don't have soulmates.
Suddenly, Henry was gone. Leaving black smoke in his place. I looked at Raphy. Can it be that a demon hybrid can have a soulmate? No. I ran away from the house and from Raphy and hid in my cabin. I will not accept it. I'm better off alone.
