13- The Pack

A/N: please vote and comment! I would really appreciate what you think of my story so far.

Rose's POV

It's finally Friday night, which means no school for two days. I was sitting on the red couch that I came to love, Raphael knocked out on the floor. He was curled up in a ball. He looked like a puppy sleeping and I could see the wolf in him. I quietly slid off the couch and started to stroke Raphael's light brown hair. Thankfully, he didn't wake up. He looked so innocent when he slept. Suddenly, Jeriard was standing in front of us. His bright green eyes stared at us. I could see how uncomfortable he seemed as I pet Raphael's hair. I motioned him over to me. He walked up next to me, still silent. I pat the spot next to me, but instead of sitting he grabbed my waist and pulled me up to his chest. My heart fluttered and my legs went weak. My eyes began burning with passion.

He stroked my cheek with his thumb and I leaned into it. "You are so beautiful, my love," he whispered. I smiled. He kissed me softly, sparks running through me. I kissed him more passionately, bringing him closer by wrapping my arms around his neck. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist.

Suddenly, my back collided with the soft mattress of a bed. I broke free from the kiss and looked around, out of breathe. We were in Jeriard's room. He began kissing my neck and kissed my nose. It made me giggle and we gazed into each other's eyes. "I love you," Jeriard whispered, his mint breath made my eyes close. I took a deep breathe. He loves me? Already? Well, I think I love him too.

"I love you, too," I said, kissing his soft lips again. He hungrily kissed me back and licked my lips. He pulled away too soon, leaving me in a daze. I looked at him, questionably.

He was scratching the back of his neck and staring at the floor. "Uh... What's wrong?" I asked.

"Since I now have to be Alpha again. I want you to meet the pack," he stated.

Ok? "And your point is..." I gestured him to go on.

"Let's go meet the pack today and tomorrow there's going to be a pack house party... Celebrating you," he nervously smiled, showing his white teeth. What?! Me?! Why me?! Just because I'm destined by some wolf God to save the wolves does not mean I want to be worshipped like I am so special or something!!!

I glared at him and pushed him forcefully off me, but he didn't budge. Thankfully, he stood up to give me my space. "Don't be mad, Rose. It was my Betas idea.. They like throwing parties... especially to attract girls," he laughed nervously.

Why is he nervous? Are his Betas that bad? "Fine," I finally agreed. So right when I was about to kiss the big lovable guy in front of me, Raphael opened the door. Without knocking may I add! Jeriard turned to him, I unconsciously threw a pillow at his face. He dramatically crashed to the floor. Jeriard growled, "What the hell do you want?!"

Raphael's face said it all. His eyes were drooping and hands were up in surrender. He had just woken up and he just wanted to see what we were up to. "I'm sorry, Jerry. I... uh... are uh we going to go to the pack house. Ray called me and said he is waiting for you." He slowly backed away.

I placed a hand on Jeriard's chest and softly pushed him toward Raphael and then I stood up, walking passed Raphael toward my room to get changed.

I took out some nice blue jeans and a black button up shirt. Jeriard was at my door way and he knocked on the side. "hey bring a bag full of clothes we're staying over for the weekend, because I have lots to do and the house is a bit far for humans," he said. Damn. What have I gotten myself into but I nodded nonetheless.

We were finally pulling up to the pack house after an hour of driving down hills and winding roads. I got out and threw up. I hated long car rides, I get motion sickness. Jeriard helped me up. "You alright?" He asked worried.

"I don't like long car rides, sorry." Raphael bounded through the double doors of what I am guessing is the pack house. It was like a mansion. Four stories high, with lots of thick windows, and completely wooden.

Jeriard grabbed my bag and I held his hand maybe a little too tightly because he chuckled and wrapped his arm around my neck as we entered. I looked around taking in the view. It was decorated like a typical mansion in the movies with a chandelier and long stair case in the middle that lead to lots of rooms on all the floors and there was even an elevator.

After admiring this palace like house, I finally noticed people staring at me. I especially noticed the tall dark man with thick black hair that ran down his shoulders. I gulped a bit intimidated by his dark yellow eyes. He began moving towards me and I instinctively hid behind Jeriard. Jeriard glared at the man now standing before him, who may I add is taller than him. "Can you stop with the ominous appearance? You're scaring my girlfriend." Jeriard said. He pulled me out from behind me. "This is Roselina but call her Rose. Rose this is Ray," he gestured to the tall dark and scary man that towered over me.

Raymond offered his hand and I shook it. "How do you do?" He asked. I nodded still cautious of him.

"Ray is one of my strongest betas. He tried keeping the pack in order while I was gone. heh heh, was it too much for you?" He joked.

"I hate your job... I'd rather stay as a beta. I like fighting off those weak enemies," his thunderous voice boomed. Jeriard chuckled.

"I will take Rose to her room and then I will commence my duties, especially reassuming our pack boundaries," he informed Raymond. He nodded. Jeriard took me upstairs to the second floor and showed me a room with a huge Queen sized bed that had golden sheets and a huge connecting bathroom. "If you don't mind were sharing a room, all the other rooms are occupied by other people." Oh no! That means I have to sleep in the same bed as Jeriard. I hope he doesn't try anything funny. I reluctantly nodded to his remark and sat on the bed.

"What am I supposed to do now?" I asked.

"Go explore and meet the pack. If you need me just holler, I will hear you." He walked out of the room leaving me there, thinking about what to do next.

I walked out of the room and ventured downstairs. I saw Raphael talking to some girl and guy. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. "Hey there, Raphael" I smiled.

Raphael acknowledged me. "Hello. Hey guys this is Rose she's Jeriard's girl. Rose this is Belle and Bear, they are mates," he introduced. The couple waved with a smile and I smiled back.

"What is a mate?" I asked.

"For wolves, mates are the one person you decide to be with for the rest of your life. Mates never stray and are always loyal. You become mates after... you know... mating and then on the next full moon the mates howl together telling the moon goddess that they are mates and the moon goddess gives them a blessing if the mates are truly in love," he explained. His eyes were sparkling in delight. I know he must really want a mate. "So yeah it is nothing like werewolves who mark their mates so that they cannot willingly love another creature other than their mate. Once a werewolf is turned or shifts for the first time they are given a mate that matches them, but sometimes a werewolves actions may drive their mate away and they force themselves on them. So I think wolves are better with their mates no bias." He smirked.

"Totally biased!" I joked. He stuck his tongue out at me.

Belle and Bear stared at us. "So if you want us to, we can show you around the house," Belle offered her hazel eyes shimmering. Bear nestled into her neck and nodded. Both of their hairs were the same color brown. Bear had dark brown eyes that seemed to force me to look away if I start staring too long.

"Of course! I would love that! Thank you," so I followed them around for the rest of the day. I was shown the kitchen, it had so many cabinets that lined the walls. There were three refrigerators, probably because there are so many of them. The counters were a magnificent grey and brown granite top and high top chairs for anyone who wants to sit to have a quick snack.

Then they showed me the kids room. It had a huge television mounted on the wall, a large black leather couch that had cup holders, it looked like a movie room. Behind the couch was a mess of toys and board games, a few kids about five to ten years old were playing with legos. A small girl facing away from me with beautiful long blonde hair seemed to be asking a boy, a few years older than her, something.

Suddenly he pushed her away from him and towered over her. His brown eyes darkened as he tilted his head downward letting his black mushroom cut fall over his face. "Stay away from me! You might infect me with your disease!" He, who I now knew as Sermen, began lifting his fist to strike at the girl.

Thankfully, I jumped in taking the girl in my arms. The boy was surprised but didn't have enough time to stop his actions, as he ended up punching me in the back. It was a hard hit for a kid his size, he could have seriously hurt the girl if he was given the chance to strike. "Excuse me!" I exclaimed. He took a step back, scared that I would hurt him. "You shouldn't be hitting others, especially not someone smaller than you. Don't bully, either! I better not see you bullying anyone, again, it's not what a gentlemen does," I warned. Who's kid is this? He needs to be taught proper manners.

I can feel the girl in my arms shaking. I look down at her and see that she is crying, silently. I wipe away her tears, gathering them in the palm of my hand. Sermen gasps at what I do. "Are you alright?" I asked the girl.

"Mhm..." she sobbed, bringing her face to face mine. Her eyes were watery. but what I found strange was that they were completely grey. A fuzzy light grey that hid her eyes true appearance. Was she blind? She touched my hand, where the tears I had gathered was. "How did you do this?" she asked me. Wait, is she blind or not? How did she know I had gathered her tears if the only thing she would of felt was my hand wiping her tears?

"I just can. It's a gift I have," I answered. The little blonde girl, Amilia, opened her mouth into a smile.

She stood up and rubbed her hands and shuffled her feet, shyly. "I also have a gift. I can see the world no one else can. I can hear the sounds no one else can. I can feel the world in a way no one else can. I can taste the world in a way no one else can. I have the gift to see beyond sight," she softly admitted.

I found her so admirable. She sees blindness as a gift. She sounds so much wiser than anyone I have ever met. I expect and hope that she has a bright and exciting future ahead of herself. I pet her head, her blonde hair as smooth as silk. "That is a beautiful gift. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise," I turn to Sermon who is now so mad that he was crying.

"Amy... I'm such a jerk! I'm so sorry for always being mean to you. I... I'll stop being mean. D-Do you want to play Uno with us?" he apologized to Amilia. Amilia smiled and nodded. She quickly gave me a tight hug and joined Sermon and his friends for a friendly game of Uno.

I sigh out in relief. Belle places a hand on my shoulder, "Sorry about Sermon. He has always been a handful. No one really knows how to deal with him since his mother passed away a year ago." I looked at Sermon who was now happily slamming his Uno cards onto the pile.

I shook my head, " I think he will be fine now that he has a friend who will guide him through tough times." I stand up and begin leaving the kid's room. I can't wait to see them when they are wolder. I get one last glimpse of Amilia sitting and smiling next to Sermon as they share his deck, since Amilia can't actually see the cards.

Belle and Bear guided me to an indoor bar next. It looked like it was old Wild West themed with swinging, wooden, double gates for doors. There were rifles hung up on the wall and the back wall of the bar was lined with all kinds of alcohol. Everything was made of wood and seemed so nostalgic. The bartender waved at me and I waved back as I was guided to the next tour destination.

We stood in front of two huge white doors on the first floor. Bear opened them to reveal a magnificent ballroom. It looked so much like the ballroom in Beauty and the Beast. It was golden with tile flooring and a Grand Piano in the corner and pillars lining the walls. It was magnificent, it made me gasp in astonishment.

We then headed to the backyard, with a huge patio where metal chairs and tables sat. I can see the trees lined up like soldiers off to war, standing at attention creating a boundary and secluding the house. This house was truly magnificent. I am glad I met Belle and Bear.
