Freedom....for 2 seconds.

The rest of the month, she spent the whole time in a cellar under the grim ranger's house. The only time she got to see his extremely attractive face --in her opinion-- was when he brought her down food. She sure was fed well. If anything, she had gotten a tad bit bigger; which didn't matter since she was skinny. she constantly looked for a way out, but the whole place looked as if i was carved OUT of a tree, so of course, there was basically no openings but the doors which were securely locked.

Finally, at exactly 1:00, the cellar doors opened. But the ranger carried no food with him, only a long strand of rope. she stared in horror as the ranger, who she had recently become used to the name Aregon, stepped into the tight confinement, and walked toward her slowly. She could feel sparks of magic gathering at the tips of her fingers, only to see that Aregon's fingers were glowing with magic as well as hers. Well, that's a bummer, she thought as he stepped closer, he's gotta way more experienced in magic than me. At last, he reached her. Mara looked up at him for a second, then quickly retreated her head back down, blushing. She had to admit that she kind of liked him; he showed no affection for her though.

One of the ranger's cut-up hands reached forward and grabbed the girl by the collar around her neck and Mara was lifted up and placed on her feet. Aregon quickly circled around her and tied her hands behind her back. She felt the urge to ask a single question but hesitated, remembering that rangers always hated it when they were asked question.

Aregon gripped the twine around her hands and placed a hand on her back, signaling her to go forward. Mara did as was told. They both ducked and walked out and into the open. Mara took a deep breath in and cherished the fresh air; she had almost forgotten what it smelled like. She felt as if she was a bird that had just taken flight; free. That only lasted about 2 seconds before she felt Aregon nudge her again, which was surprising because he usually was rough with her. She sighed and began to walk again. Aregon only grunted, as usual.

Within a half of an hour, the outline of a city was in sight. Aregon tensed behind her; he obviously didn't like this city. within another half hour, they were in the middle of the city. It looked like much of what she'd seen of Gondor when she was younger; her mother lived there. She studied everything from the people, who looked at the two of them with fright, to the big towers that loomed above the two. The villagers had a good reason to be frightful. Aregon was actually a ranger, and she looked like one. She was getting the feeling that people didn't like rangers too much. Even weirder, the male had the female tied up. Yep, she thought, that's a good reason.

The question that had been bugging her the whole way had reached her lips, "Where are we going?" she asked the ranger. All he did was look at Mara's eyes for a second --sternly-- and begin to push her forward again. When he did answer, his voice was croaky and the teen didn't understand why.

"You are here for buying."

"What?" she asked, confused.

"Just keep going," he said pushing her once more. It was when he brought her over to a table did she understand. "I'd like to speak with the Man in Charge here. I bet we can get a pretty price for this lady." Aregon said to the salesman.
