''Come on love we have to go for the run and train too, it's past five,''

''Give me a minute I'm coming,'' I reply as I walk down the steps securing my hair into a tight ponytail, ''You know, I'm surprised Charles didn't report back last night; he usually does.''

''He must have thought we've slept. Anyway I'm glad he didn't stop by, we had quite a busy night didn't we?'' he smirks and places a kiss on my mark causing me to shudder in delight.

''okay then,'' I pull away from him, ''we have to go for our run remember?''

We both walk to the front door and are about to go out when we are pushed inside by a strong force. What the heck!

''Get in, get in, get in both of you now!!'' he shouts and pushes us in.

''Charles what's wrong with you? Are you out of your damn mind?'' Theo shouts at him as he stumbles backwards.

''You look like a deranged man Charles; what's up with you?'' I tell him. 

''Shhhhhhh.... shushh we need to go somewhere where no one can hear us; I have to tell you two something.''

Theo and I exchange confused looks, ''okay let's go to our study.''

''This better be good Charles especially if it's costing me a chance to beat up Theo's ass.''

''Ohhh you wish love; I totally beat you last time,'' Theo scoffs. ''Uh huh... of course you did,'' I smirk.

The three of us walk in to my old room which now serves as an office for both Theo and I. With everything going on I don't even know when or how Theo managed to find the time to fit in an extra table for him to work. When I asked him why he did that, he said something along the lines of, ''I like to watch you work love.''

''Whoooaaa, you converted Athena's old room to a study! Neat. Hey! can I also add in my desk; we can have another office here what say Theo?'' Charles beams excitedly.

''Charles!!'' you had something to tells us,'' I cock an eyebrow.

''Ohh ohhh yeah...sorry I got distracted but damn that furniture, '' he says and eyes Theo's desk.

''Charles!!!!'' Theo commands.

'' right sorry.... Okay so last night Axel and I went for the perimeter check......''and he tells us everything that happened last night.

''He is here, that vile piece of shit is here!!! I will hunt him down and kill him.'' The rage in me multiplies but is soon replaced with calming sensations as Theo induces the mate bond to calm me down.

''Do you always have to do that?''

''I'll do it every single time for the rest of our lives love.''

''Uhhh you guys are kind of stealing the spotlight from me,'' we hear Charles mutter.

'''Right, uhhh sorry continue man.''

''So you guys have not heard the best part yet. Yes, I almost took him out but he is bigger than me so I did the best I could and bit him on the left leg but guess who I caught limping back to his house just a few minutes ago?''

''Who?'' we both ask in unison.

Charles takes his sweet time to answer and mimics a drum roll, ''Wait for it...''

I cross my arms over my chest drumming my fingers impatiently as Theo stands by my side looking at Charles like he's lost his mind.

''The icy blue eyed wolf is none other than.... Sebastian!'' he announces.

''Uhhh guys, this is the part where you are supposed to react,'' he says when we don't reply.

''Babe, we should go don't you think; we're already late for our run,'' I tell Theo, completely ignoring Charles' absurd announcement.

''Uhhh huh yeah, we should totally go and Charles; get some sleep man.''

We turn to leave but he blocks our path, ''didn't you hear what I just said!?'' he bellows.

''Yes Charles, we did but this is not possible man, it can't be Sebastian,'' Theo says.

He turns to look me, ''Athena, you have to believe me; in fact, you can even ask Axel, he bit into his shoulder last night. You guys please, I'm not lying,'' he pleads.

Theo puts an arm around him and leads him down the stairs. ''Go home and get some sleep man, will talk after breakfast okay?''

''You guys think I'm lying; you don't believe me,'' he whispers softly and my heart melts seeing him like this.

''Charles no, it's not that...'' but he cuts me off. ''Yes, it is that; you two don't believe me! that's okay, it's okay....but I have proof, come with me.''

He drags us out the door towards Sebastian's house, ''Charles stop this, it's too early in the morning to barge into people's homes,'' Theo tells him but he ignores his warnings and leads us up the front steps.

''Get out you sick bastard!!,'' he bangs on the door thrice before it flings open to reveal a disheveled Sebastian, ''Hey guys; is everything okay? Are we under attack?'' he asks at the same time stifling a yawn.

''You tell us big guy, why don't you remove that t-shirt and show us your back huh, or better yet why don't you pull up your sweatpants and show us your left leg?'' Charles challenges.

''My my Charles, behave man; there is a woman present here and you want me to strip,'' Sebastian jokes and leans on the door frame, ''although I wouldn't mind doing it if Athena asks me too.''

''No one is stripping here, sorry to disturb you so early in the morning brother, we will be on our way now,'' Theo apologizes and puts his hand around my waist guiding me back.

''Come on Charles; let's get you to bed,'' I say in a soft motherly voice and take his hand in mine.

Sebastian however has other ideas and skips down the steps with us and blocks our path. I notice Charles widen his eyes in shock and he whispers a soft 'how.'

''Mind telling me what all this is about you guys; you know it's not every day the Alpha's come knocking at your door so early in the morning?'' he questions.

Theo and I exchange looks before he speaks up, ''it's a small case of misunderstanding; but it's all clear now so you don't have to worry brother, we'll see you around.''

He nods and bows in a mocking manner then goes back to his house, perfectly fine might I add.

''He is liar I'm telling you,'' Charles growls.

''Okay Charles listen, I don't know what you saw last night but I know that you need to rest at the moment so please will you do that for me and I promise I will listen to whatever it is you tell me later, okay?'' I tell him and he nods.

''Good, now let's get you home.''

''love? Why don't you take him to his house; I'll be waiting for you at our spot,'' Theo suggests.

''Okay, see you there.''

We walk slowly towards his house, me keeping my eyes on Charles in case he freaks out again. As soon as we get to the front door, Mila rushes out; she probably heard us coming. ''Oh goddess I was so worried when I didn't find him in bed,'' she exclaims.

''Make sure he sleeps Mila, seems like he had a long night,'' she nods at this and makes an attempt to put her arm around his waist but he hisses in pain and pushes her hand away.

''Charles are you okay?'' Mila asks, worry all over her face. We drag him in and lay him on the couch and he grunts on the impact.

Mila lifts up his t-shirt and a gasp escapes both of us when we see the scratch marks on his ribs. 

''I'm calling Devin now!'' I say as I mind link the pack doctor, goddess I hope he is not asleep.

Thankfully he had just woken up and is on his way. ''Devin's coming, '' I tell Mila and take a sit on one of the bar-stools in her kitchen. 

'Could it really be Sebastian?' the thought crosses over my mind but I shake it off. No, no it can't be he is my friend, he is... nice. Sebastian can't do this.No.

Devin walks in with his gear and immediately rushes to Charles. ''Damn, these marks run deep; whoever did this to him was aiming to kill.'' 

A shiver runs down my spine when he says that and I begin to picture Sebastian doing that to Charles. I shake it off once again and begin to leave.

''Theo is waiting for me; we need to train; keep me updated will you?'' I ask Mila and she nods.

''Hey, what took you so long? Theo asks when I walk up to him. He is casually leaning against a tree waiting. What's with these brothers leaning against surfaces.

''Uhh, sorry I started talking to Mila and kind of lost track of time,'' The lie rolls smoothly off my tongue. Why did i do that? Guess a part of me believes Charles.

''Okay come on, we need to train harder today,'' he says and takes off his t-shirt.

I also start to remove my t-shirt when I hear him say, ''What, no ogling today love? You always eye me like a piece of meat when I take off my shirt,'' he says in a playful voice.

''Yeah...uhhh... I just have a lot on my mind right now, '' I reply and turn away from him to change.

''What's on your mind love, tell me; maybe I can help you with something?''

''It's nothing really, let's just go. Like you said we need to train harder.''

''Athena please, don't do this again, we've come so far in our relationship for you to shut me out like this,'' he pushes.

I sigh, he is right, we've made it this far.

''Okay...um...Do you think that maybe, just maybe what Charles is saying is true? I mean he wouldn't just blatantly accuse someone would he?''

''Ohh come on Love, what he said is unreasonable, it can't be Sebastian. I refuse to believe it; he is my brother after all and he has changed. Charles is just looking for someone to put the blame on and who better than Sebastian, I mean the guy has had it out for him from the moment he came back!'' he practically yells and I take a step back.

''Theo, I understand what you're trying to say but this is Charles we are talking about. Why do you think he would lie about something like this?'' I try to reason with him.

''So you also believe him now huh? You also think that my brother is the blue eyed monster that is going around killing people!''

''Theo. Listen to me. I'm not saying that it's Sebastian, what I'm trying to say is that why don't we look into this matter before ruling the possibility out?''

''So basically putting my brother up as a suspect? Charles already did that about an hour ago and look where it got him, he said he would be limping and would have a deep wound on his shoulder. Did you see any of that on Sebastian, did you?'' he says shouts and i can feel the anger building up in him.

''No, but Theo....'' I start.

He cuts me off. ''No buts Athena, this conversation is over. Now if you'll excuse me I need to be anywhere else but here.''

He walks away leaving me standing there alone. ''What the f*** just happened????''

tears start threatening to fall but I push them back and transform into my white wolf running down the trail in full speed.
