It has been roughly three weeks since Caleb's death. Three weeks and no sign of the witches or the rogues. We have been alert in every way. Theo, Charles, Mila and I also go for perimeter checks from time to time but there is no sign of them.

I almost got into a fight with Charles last week since I thought that the witches were just bluffing to keep us on edge but Charles says and I quote, ''This is just the calm before the storm Athena; something big is coming.''

Sebastian is back from his supposed 'break' and I'm currently sitted with him by the lake listening to his tales. How I got roped into this is beyond me.

Sebastian and I have become some sort of close friends since the fight by the caves. And this displeases Charles more than anything else.

''I'm still not over how you zoned out on the field Athena,'' he chuckles and I roll my eyes at him playfully. ''It's not funny okay!''

''Oh come on it is. Though I want to know what you were thinking when you zoned out; clearly it was not about Theo because he was right behind you fighting.''

I look away in embarrassment. How do I tell him I was watching him fight; as if that won't inflate his already huge ego.

''I was uhhh...I was thinking about my business. I lost my manufacturer; so I currently have no one to print my designs,'' I sigh heavily.

I hope he doesn't catch my lie although part of it is true. With everything going on I haven't had the time to digest that I just put my business on the line.

''I can actually help there, I have contacts in the city,'' he suggests but I shake my head, ''No no... you don't have worry about that seriously; it's totally fine.''

''Please Athena, I insist,'' he presses. ''You don't have to get involved in this, its fine really,'' I say when I feel the link buzzing.

''Love where are you? Ashton and Olivia are here,'' Theo's voice fills my head.

''I'm by the lake; be there in 10 minutes,'' I reply and cut off the link.

''I've got to go,'' I say and stand up; dusting myself in the process but Sebastian grabs my hand.

''Consider my offer Athena, I really want to do this for you.''

I look at him,confusion etched over my face at his statement but shake it off immediately, ''I'll think about it,'' I reply and jog towards my house.

''Ah there she is!'' Olivia screams excitedly as soon as I walk in the house, ''are you done packing?''

''Ughhh...do I have to come?'' I groan in frustration. ''Of course you do. Like I told you before; I'm no longer sitting through that meeting being the only decent woman present, now get your ass up there and start packing,'' Olivia scolds me.

I drag myself up the stairs with her behind me. ''Pack some extra clothes love; we'll be staying a few more days in Toronto,'' Theo says from the couch as he hands a beer bottle to Ashton.

''Okay so, do you have business suits?'' Olivia asks me and I look at her incredulously, ''I'm going to pretend you didn't just ask me that!''

''Hey I'm just trying to help. When I went for the first time I didn't have any and Ashton had to spend huge bucks to buy them,'' She says in a soft voice, ''I felt really bad seeing him spend so much on me even though he kept on saying it's fine and what's mine is his and all that.''

''and that's why it's good to be independent my friend; One thing I'm glad about is that Theo doesn't spend lavishly on me. I can afford my expenses so I don't have to rely on him. Although I wouldn't mind occasional gifts,'' I smirk and she nods in agreement.

''Hey why don't you start a business of your own; something that you're good at,'' I suggest.

''Hmmm.... That does seem like a good idea, what am I good at?'' she muses.

''I'd say drinking wine,'' and she throws a pillow at me which I'm too late to dodge and it hits my face.

''Well that wasn't nice,'' I complain. I contemplate throwing it back and starting a fight but we have work to do.

I put in two suits just in case and a few casual clothes since will be staying there.

''So what happens at these meetings?'' I ask her as she walks to my closet to pull out shoes.

''Ohh it's a typical meeting; some of the council members are present so that they are updated on what's happening. We all discuss the problems we are facing, how to deal with them. We have Alpha's from America present too; they have like five packs there,'' she finishes and I mouth an 'Ohh'.

''Well I'm done here, when's our flight?'' I ask as I zip my bags up. 

''09:00 am tomorrow but Ashton and I are leaving on the earlier one. The meeting will start at 04:00 pm and then cocktails and dinner of course.''

''Well sounds like a party. I hope there is drama,'' I say with a laugh.

''Oh trust me there will be, the American Luna's don't like us much and now that there is an alpha female in the picture it's going to get worse.'' 

''Ahh... I don't want to be in the middle of drama; I just want to sit back and watch it happen, I seriously hope I'm not caught in the middle of it,'' I say as I plop on the bed.

''I doubt that, so buckle up.''

I walk down the stairs the next morning dragging my bags with me. Theo grabs one of them half way and shakes his head, ''we are just going to be there for a weekend love; why do you need two bags?''

''Heyy a girls' got needs okay; I've got like 8 outfits in here and 6 pairs of shoes that match with them in this one; including my make-up and other accessories. '' 

Charles pats his back saying, ''Women; can't live with them, can't live without them.''

''Wiser words have never been spoken man,'' Theo replies and rolls my bags out to the patio.

''Sure you guys can't come?'' I pout at both Mila and Charles.

''Ohh we'd love to Athena but someone needs to stay here and watch the pack, just because there has been no attack for three weeks doesn't mean we should put our guard down,'' Mila replies and I nod knowing she is right.

''Well that and A: we wouldn't love to attend those meetings because they are boring as hell!!! and B: I have been to them for four consecutive years so it gives me so much happiness that you're now here to accompany Theo cause sweetheart you will be bored to death, so have fun!!'' Charles remarks and pushes me out of the door.

''Is he for real?'' I ask Theo as we start walking towards the border. ''He is Charles, what else would you expect from him?''

''Ahhh true that; so why are we staying longer in Toronto?'' I question him.

''Well love, I thought that since we will be there you can check up on your company and we can spend some time together too. With everything that has happened I feel like we've not had time to ourselves. Besides, we've only been on one date can you imagine that; so I'd like to take you out on another date too, what say?''

''Ohh Theo, I.....that's amazing and uhh...yeah I would love to go on a second date with you,'' I reply and a blush creeps up.

''Well I technically haven't asked you yet so....'' He trails off and I smack his shoulder, ''oh you just had to ruin it, didn't you?''

We cross the borders and I see Benjamin, Emily and Sean waiting for us by the SUV.

''Ready for hell Theo?'' Benjamin jokes as we all get in. Emily, Sean and I adjust ourselves on the back seat and we drive towards the airport.

''I hope we didn't interrupt a romantic road trip for the two of you?'' Emily asks politely.

''Ohhh nooooo, it's not romantic no...we are just going for business and why take two cars when we are all going to the same place right?'' I reply hastily and she just nods.

As soon as we get to the airport we all check in and board the flight, first class might I add. I make my way to the boarding gate throwing glares at Theo.

''What's the need for first class on a four-hour flight?'' I hiss at him. 

''Well love, I want you to have all the luxury and besides four hours is a long time, you think I want my mate to fly coach?'' he asks with a raised brow. I scoff at him and start walking away.

''You can trade with someone and go to coach if you wish to, I won't stop you, '' he jogs up to me; a smirk playing on his lips.

I look at him and grit my teeth in annoyance, ''Fine!'' I growl and take my seat by the window as he slides in the one next to me.

 A hostess comes a while later with wine and I gladly take it, ''you love it don't you?'' he teases and I can't help but smile as I rub my tongue on my teeth, ''Come on love, just say it.''

''Okay fine, I do! Happy?'' I accept defeat and look out the window making myself comfortable. ''I'm only happy when you are love,'' he kisses my cheek.

''Welcome back to Toronto love,'' He says wrapping his arms around me from behind as we settle in the hotel.

We are all currently sitted in the hotel conference room as the meeting is about to start. I pat my hands over my caramel brown suit  to flatten it and fiddle with a pen.

I recognize a few council members; Jonathan, Alexander and another guy who is tall with olive skin. Jonathan seems to be okay for someone who lost his son almost a month ago and I mentally make a note to ask Theo about it later. Benjamin stands up and addresses the audience as the meeting begins.

I must have yawned over seven times now and we are just an hour into it. Damn Charles was right, this is boring. 

If it were in my hands, this meeting would have lasted 15 minutes only. Damn, these people can talk.

''We have reason to believe that an alpha female exists, that is a catastrophe and she cannot be allowed to live,'' one of the American alphas says and the others hum in agreement.

''I told you there will be drama; so gear up,'' Olivia whispers to me from my left and one of the Lunas sitted opposite hears her and glares at us.

Alexander gets up and clears his throat, he nods to me in understanding letting me know he's got this and I nod back.

''We have already been through this with the concerned packs and they have promised us safety, we have nothing to fear from the said female; she is not a threat to anyone,'' he announces and another yawn escapes me as I've heard this one too many times.

''Huh...that's what you're living by, a promise from a female; what if she decides to break it, what happens when she has one of the mood swings these women constantly have and decides to go on a rampage destroying us all and the worst of it all , what happens when she goes into heat?'' 

Who is this guy? Who even made him alpha? Is he on crack? Why does he care about me going into heat? These and a lot of other not so friendly thoughts rush through my mind as my hand balls into a fist, I'm about to get up and give him a piece of my mind when a calming sensation rushes through me and I relax. I take a deep breath and sit back as the calmness sets in.

''You can't act out love,'' Theo mind links me.

''Do you hear this guy Theo? I feel like ripping his tongue out!''

''You do anything like that and you'll end up proving him right , so relax, let Alexander continue; he's on our side."

I nod subtly at this and entwine my fingers with Theo's, He rubs circles over my thumb trying to calm me down.Oh goddess, Leave it to Theo to keep me grounded and in a right state of mind.

''I don't know what a promise is to you people, but to us it is worth more than anything. The alpha and her mate have vowed that they will never be a threat to us and have been keeping it like that; so there will be no further discussion on that matter, '' Alexander declares in a booming voice and the alpha sits down.

''Well we'd like to know her and meet her even if she is present here,'' Says another alpha and we turn to look at him; he looks about Theo's age or older even and has these deep blue eyes and raven black hair.

Well damn, that is one good looking man. I don't see any woman by his side, no mate yet. His beta whispers something to him but he ignores it.

 ''Well, we are waiting councilmen,'' he says; an air of confidence around him.

The third councilman gets up and clears his throat. He eyes me as if asking for permission and I nod.

''You sure love?'' Theo whispers, ''hmmm,'' I squeeze his hand in assurance.

''Athena if you will,'' he gestures and I stand up. All the gazes in the room turn to me and I do the first thing that comes to my mind, ''Hey y'all what up?'' I say in a squeaky voice and I see Olivia face palm herself from my peripheral vision.

The blue eyed alpha eyes me from head to toe and a smile appears on his face. Theo notices this and I hear a growl erupt from him as he stands up and puts his hand around my waist pulling me close to him. Okay...possessive much.

The other Lunas' eyes widen in fear. 'That's right bitches' inner me flips her hair haughtily but outer me says: ''you all don't have to fear me please; we're all equals here. I would not want to repeat everything that councilman Alexander said but for the sake of everyone here, I'd like to tell you all that I'm not threat to anyone,'' I take my seat and Olivia leans to me, ''nice save.''

The meeting is now over and we are all at the rooftop having cocktails when someone comes up to me, '' all the others are scared to come to talk to you, thought I might give it a shot; what do I have to lose anyway apart from an arm or an eye maybe?'' he jokes and I couldn't help but laugh.

''Now what use is one arm to me, might as well take both,'' I joke back and he laughs as the skin around his deep blue eyes crinkle.

''It's nice to meet someone who appreciates humor, I'm Leonard by the way but you can call me Leo,'' he extends his hand and I take it, ''Athena; but you already know,'' I chuckle and he smiles in return, ''dance?'' he asks and I raise my eyebrows in surprise.

''It's totally okay if you don't want to. I understand, you're scared your mate might not allow it,'' he says.

''I'm sorry what did you just say? I can make my own decisions you know and also Theo is not like that, he is quite understanding; so now if you'll excuse me,'' I snap at him and walk away.

I walk up to Theo who is with Ashton, Ethan, Axel and some other men. ''Oh hey there love,'' Theo calls and proceeds to introduce me to the other guys.

I hug Axel and Ethan. ''How's Nadia doing?'' I ask Axel and he just nods and smiles shyly. 

''Axel Cooper are you blushing? Oh my god this is big!!'' I cry out as I spy the mark from under his shirt.

''Uhh Athena...can we...can we talk?'' he asks. ''Yeah sure.''

 We excuse ourselves from the group and walk to a quieter part of the rooftop.

''So, What's up?'' 

''Athena.... I am extremely sorry for being a jerk to you. I now understand everything that you were telling me. I'm feeling everything that you felt seven months ago, so I'm sorry for pushing you. Will you forgive me?''

''Of course I forgive you, you idiot. In fact, I forgave you a long time ago, now come here,'' I say and pull him into a hug. ''Thank you, Athena.''

''Your timings are really impeccable when talking to her aren't they?'' Theo questions as he walks up to us and Axel pulls away almost immediately.

''I'm having a serious case of déjà vu right now,'' I announce and walk over to Theo.

''Hey man, I mean no harm. I just wanted to ask for her forgiveness,'' Axel says putting his hands up in surrender and walks away.

''Ready to call it a night love?''

''Yes!!.... goddess knows how sleepy I am from all that yawning.''

''Well let's get going then, I'm going to be hearing a lot of snoring tonight,'' Theo comments and I look at him shocked. ''I don't snore!!!''

''It's cute,'' he chuckles as we take the elevator down to our room.
