I lead Theo to the house and Charles follows us, ''You didn't have to do this Theo, I just wanted to spend time with you this evening.'' I say exasperated. ''Well it's done now Athena, so how about you go change, our guests are waiting and it's rude.'' Charles interjects before Theo can reply.

''Charles,'' Theo says in a warning tone. ''Fine fine I'm going, '' he says, ''I'll keep them entertained, maybe I'll wear a hat and pull a rabbit out of it,'' He snaps and I release a low growl ''Charles,'' I warn one last time. He sighs and leaves the house.

''Theo you...'' I start but he cuts me off, ''Before you continue, let me tell you that Charles is right, it is rude to keep our guests waiting besides what's done is done, the party has started already unless you want me to go out there and tell them all to leave.'' He says seriously and starts walking towards the door but I grab his hand and sigh defeatedly, 'Okay, I'll go change.'' I say and kiss him softly on the lips, ''Thank you'' I whisper.

''Always, Love,'' he replies and follows me to our room, ''you want to watch me change now?'' I question, ''if you'll let me'' he replies. ''Such a pervert you are,'' I remark and he chuckles ''only for you babe.''

I walk to the closet and see the most beautiful baby pink gown hanging there and my eyes widen as I marvel at it. ''Holy shit!'' I yell. ''You like it?'' Theo says as he walks in the closet. ''I love it,'' I squeal.

''I got Rachel and Cathy to help me out with the dress,'' He admits. I take it and walk to the bathroom to change, I feel like a princess as I put it on and do a little twirl. Then I put on some light make up and walk out.

''Woahh,'' Theo gasps, ''you look divine Athena, pink really is your color.'' I smile at him as I put on my shoes. ''Now, time for your first gift,'' He says and I look at him confused as he puts his hands in his pocket and retrieves a box, I freeze in place hoping against hope that it's not what I think it is and sigh in relief when he opens the box. Inside are the most gorgeous tear-drop shaped diamond earrings I have ever seen.

''Oh my god,'' I gasp as tears start filling up in my eyes ''Theo, these are beautiful,'' I manage to choke out. 'Thank you.'' I say and hug him and he chuckles. ''I 'm glad you liked them love.''

''Now come, we need to get back to the party.'' He urges. I put on the earrings and we head downstairs. As soon as we walk out we are greeted by a lot of people, most of them wishing me Happy Birthday. I see that Charles has managed to keep people entertained as there is an open bar and music.

Rachel, Cathy and Hazel come running to me, I squeal as I catch sight of them and we all hug. ''You look so pretty Athena,'' Hazel comments. '' Thanks, it's all because of Rachel and Cathy.'' I say as I spy Olivia walking towards me.

I excuse myself and meet her halfway, ''Athena Robinson, look at you all glowing,'' She says as she hugs me, '' well look at you too, you look amazing.'' I compliment her back. She is wearing a strapless midnight blue gown that has glitter at the bottom. ''It's a lovely party, many happy returns of the day to you,'' she says as she picks up two wine glasses from a passing waiter. ''Cheers.''

As I walk to the bar I hear some women gossiping, '' who is this girl and why is Alpha Theo throwing such a big party for her?'' I heard one of them say. ''Who knows, I heard she beat up Caleb so bad that he can't even walk. Poor boy.'' Says a second one, which I know is a big lie since everyone has seen Caleb walking around the pack with nothing but a black eye as proof of our fight.

I look down in shame and start to walk away from the bar when suddenly someone speaks up from behind me, ''turn a deaf ear towards them Athena, they don't know what they are saying,'' they say and I turn to see Theo's mother Lila walking up to me with a kind smile.

''We cannot allow peoples' words to get to us, some of them have no excitement in their lives and that's why choose to meddle in other people's lives.'' She says loudly and the women immediately scatter away in embarrassment.

She then continues in a whisper, ''you will soon be the Luna of this pack Athena, facing criticism will be your daily obstacle, you must be strong enough to take it well and overcome it,'' and with that she leaves my side and joins mom on her table as they both bond.

''Hey Athena, dance with me,'' Aiden comes up to me and holds out his hand, he looks different tonight with his mass of curly hair styled into a neat man bun. ''The man bun suits you Aiden,'' I compliment him, ''it does doesn't it, Nadia says I look like the behind of a poodle'' He grumbles as I burst into laughter. Classic Aiden and Nadia.

Suddenly I hear the clinking of a champagne glass, everyone stops and turns to look at Theo who is standing on a raised platform. ''Athena, if you may,'' he says as he outstretches his hand towards me and Aiden being the gentlemen that he is escorts me to the stage. I climb up the steps as Theo takes my hand in his, ''time for my second gift,'' He whispers lowly so that only I can hear and I look at him with a small smile knowing what he is about to do and give him a small nod.

''Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for honoring our invitation and coming to this party, although it's not only a party but also an event. I've gathered you all here today to make an announcement,'' Theo's voice booms and there is a pin drop silence as everyone listens to him intently.

He clears his throat as I grab his hand tightly. ''I'd like to announce to you all that I have found my mate, my better half and she is standing right here besides me. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Athena Robinson; My Mate,'' He announces proudly and the whole crowd breaks into howls and whistles.

''I knew it!!'' I hear a shout from the crowd and my eyes lock with Olivia's as she has her arms around Ashton while shouting, 'I knew it, I knew it' and I laugh as she winks at me.

We come down the stage and are surrounded by Mom, dad and Lila who have tears in their eyes. Mom hugs me first followed by Lila. Dad comes last and he shakes Theo's hand. ''Take care of my daughter, '' he attempts to say it sternly but his voice wavers in the end.

''Until my last breath sir,'' Theo replies with a promise in his voice. Ethan comes by next and hugs me, ''congratulations Ena, you'll do good to this pack. So what shall I call you from now on, Luna Athena?'' he jokes and Theo goes to correct him but I stop him by grabbing his hand. ''I'd rather be the Ena to your Ethan,'' I reply and he hugs me.

He then bro hugs Theo and says, ''Welcome to the family brother, fair warning; we are a crazy lot,'' He jokes and Theo responds, ''You clearly haven't met mine,'' as he gestures towards Aiden and Nadia who are bickering.

Olivia walks up to us and beams with happiness as she pulls me into a hug, ''I'm so happy, I finally have someone to talk to at those boring meetings we have to attend every 2 months,'' She says. ''Can't wait'' I respond as I fake my excitement. ''Now we definitely have to meet up for wine,'' She adds, ''just tell me the time and place and I will be there,'' I retort as Ashton congratulates Theo and sends me a small smile and they walk away. ''They are so perfect for each other, two totally different personalities yet perfectly complimenting one another,'' I say as I look at Ashton and Olivia walking hand in hand.

''I'd like to believe that we are that way too love,'' Theo mentions. I turn to look at him as I motion for him to elaborate further. '' Well if I were to summarize it in one sentence it would be; I am the calm to your storm,'' He says with confidence and I shake my head as I lean in to him. That does perfectly describe us.

Theo's hold around me tightens as Sebastian walks up to us, '' So the wolf's out of the bag huh?'' he chuckles and continues, ''I know the correct term is cat's out of the bag but we aren't feline so I had to improvise,'' He says in his snake like voice. '' Luna Athena, if you could do me the honor of having one dance with you?'' he bows low and outstretches his hand. Theo loosens his grip on me as I give Sebastian my hand and he leads me to the dance floor.

''That was a very bad decision you took Theo,'' Charles comments as he walks up to me. ''It wasn't my decision to take man, I trust Athena and she knows to be wary of Sebastian,'' I reply as I eye my cousin who has his arms around my mates' waist whilst they move slowly on the dance floor. ''I still don't trust him, especially after what happened this morning. We need to be vigilant,'' Charles says and walks away to talk to some guests.

Sebastian has his arms around me as we move to a slow song. ''You look undeniably beautiful tonight Athena,'' He comments and I mumble a thank you, not wanting to prolong this into a conversation. ''You know you could have just told me that you and Theo are mates and here I thought we were friends,'' He perfectly executes a fake sigh and I roll my eyes at him. ''And what would you have done with that piece of information Sebastian?'' I ask him. ''oh nothing, I just expect my friends to tell me important things like these,'' He says casually and I scoff.

''Ahem...'' someone clears their throat, ''if I may cut in, I'd like to dance with my mate,'' Theo says and I inwardly do a happy dance. '' Yes of course brother,'' Sebastian says as he places my hand into Theo's and bows low, ''Always a pleasure Athena,'' and walks away.

Theo and I dance for a while. I lean my head on his chest and I can hear his heartbeat which calms me down. Soon the crowd starts thinning out; Mom, dad and Ethan also bid their goodbyes to us and leave.

I suppress a yawn as we walk inside the house and Theo chuckles. Let's get to bed love; it's been a long day,'' I'm inside the bathroom changing when I remembered something important. I walk out hastily and ask Theo, ''hey did you get anything from that rogue we captured last night? ''

Theo sighs, ''unfortunately no, we found him dead in his cell this morning.''
