(y/n)'s POV
Ahsoka held my hand, well - more like her small hand wrapped around a few of my fingers as she pulled me up the stairs, "I'll only show you my favorites. I have so many so I won't be able to show you everything." She shrugged.

I raised my brows, I can already tell that this little girl is spoiled beyond belief. Not that I'm surprised, it's obvious that Obi-Wan has a well paying job, and Ahsoka is technically the only child in the house. Plus with her losing her mother so young, I'm sure both Anakin and Obi-Wan feel the need to compensate. My father was the same way when my mother left - I had way more than I needed.

We reached the top of the stairs and she continued pulling me down the hallway towards a cracked open door, which she kicked open fully, "This is my room, my Dad painted it pink - look," She pointed to the pastel pink walls with her free hand, there were small animals painted on them as well; bunnies, dogs, chickens, pigs, horses, etc. almost like a little farm with the animals running around the room.

"By Dad, do you mean Obi?" I asked curiously, using the nickname I heard her call him earlier.

She nodded before lifting her gaze to look at me, "Yeah and Kin did the animals, he's really good at drawing stuff but don't tell him I told you. He likes to pretend he can't draw. He said too many annoying people ask him for drawings and says they're not worth his time," She rolled her eyes, and I chuckled while nodding.

"I won't," I turned away and eyed the room that was filled with an abundance amount of toys, play chests, papers that held child-like drawings, a little table with tiny white chairs around it - which I'm guessing is for drawing and-or tea parties judging by the tea-set on top. And then a medium sized purple castle in the corner, "You know I used to have a castle just like that one when I was around your age," I pointed to it. Her eyes brightened as she pulled me deeper into the room.

"Kin got it for me for my birthday. You should have seen him and Dad trying to put it together. I thought they were going to kill each other," She giggled before finally letting go of my hand as she stood next to it. The castle towered over her by a few inches or so, "It's a good place to keep stuff I don't want them accidentally throwing away," I watched her as she opened a small door and stuck her hand in, before pulling out a wad of papers, "Want to see my mommy?"

I nodded with a smile, "I would love to."

She gestured to the small white chairs, "You can sit in any chair you want." I went to sit in the one that had my back facing the wall, but she held her hand up - stopping me, "Not that one." She smiled innocently, "I have dibs."

I laughed at how adorable I thought she was before taking a seat in the one that had my back facing the doorway. She took the seat I was originally going to sit in, "Alright let me see." I laid my elbows on the table, and gave her a soft smile as she placed the papers in front of her.

She shifted through a few of them, and I noticed that there were no pictures as I expected. They were all drawings, and some were even letters. She bounced slightly when she found the one she was looking for and she slid it over to me, "That's my mom."

I stared in awe at the pencil portrait of a beautiful woman that resembled Ahsoka in a lot of ways, "Wow you look just like her," I glanced up from the picture to gaze into the blue eyes of the six year old in front of me. She held a smile that told me she was happy with my comment, "Who drew this?"

She lowered her head down to the table before whispering, "Kin, he mailed it to me awhile ago - I don't really remember when."

I furrowed my brows in confusion, "Mailed?" I set the picture down and slid it back over to her.

She grabbed it and placed it in her pile as she nodded, "Yeah he was on vacation, I didn't see him for a long time," She sighed with a m hint of sadness, "But he did write me letters and sent me these drawings." She smiled obliviously while holding up more portraits that were of her.

But the word 'vacation' was stuck in my head. He had mentioned previously that he hasn't been around much. He said he'd tell me eventually why, but it hasn't gotten brought up again.

"Took you long enough." Ahsoka's voice pulled me from my thoughts, and I jumped in surprise with a yelp when I felt a hand grip my shoulder and a deep voice yelling 'boo', "Thats why I don't sit there, he always tries to scare me." She rolled her eyes with a sigh as her gaze shifted behind me, and I looked up to see Anakin smirking down at me.

"Chicken shit," He teased as he removed his hand and set a plate of food down in front of his sister.

"Jerk," I mumbled with a huff; causing him to chuckle.

"Alright, what do you say Ahsoka?" He folded his arms over chest - his gaze stuck on her as she took a bite of her sandwich.

"Thank you," She uttered with a mouthful and a piece of bread fell out, making him grimace.

"Next time, swallow first." He shook his head with a sigh.

She shrugged, before swallowing, "Next time, specify." She smiled, her tone dripping with sass.

He raised his brows at her, "Thats an awfully big word for you, are you sure you know what it means?"

She smirked with a nod, "I have a dictionary."

"Ahsoka," He scolded her name, "Obi-Wan has been looking for that, he thought your sitter stole it."

Completely unbothered by her scolding, she took another bite of her sandwich - I love her already, "He didn't look very well then, it's right there." She pointed to the floor next to her bed. Sure enough, there it was.

I placed my hand over my mouth to hide my amused grin as I watched their interaction, "Why do you even have this?" He picked it up from the floor, "It's not like you can understand it."

"Yes I can," She countered, "Not all of us wait until we're eight to learn to read Kin." She sassed while taking a sip of her water that she had poured into a small tea cup, her pinky raised, "Some of us prefer to excel."

I looked up to Anakin and he was scowling at her in annoyance. I on the other hand was currently suppressing my laughter. His gaze shifted to me and he tilted his head while pushing his tongue to the inside of his cheek, "What's so funny?"

I shook my head slowly - pressing my lips together, "Nothing." I mumbled innocently, my voice cracking from the laughter that was stuck in my throat - begging to come out.

"No, come on, say it." He gestured to me with knitted brows.

"It's just humorous to see that you've met your match." I glanced to Ahsoka, her gaze shifting between Anakin and I.

He shook his head as a slow grin spread across his lips while he stepped closer to me, before holding his hand out for me to take, "She's too easy to bribe to be a match. I actually recall meeting my match in a bakery shop when she threatened me instead of letting me have my way as most people do," I accepted his hand, and he pulled me to my feet, "It was kind of hot too." He whispered close to my ear.

I smiled as I dropped my head down, "You have issues if you find threats hot."

Anakin placed his index finger under my chin and lifted my gaze back, our faces closer than I expected.

My heart was thumping in my chest, but all I could think about was the little girl watching us. I feel like that's the only reason I didn't do what my mind was yelling at me to do, "It is what sealed the deal after all - at least for me." He shrugged and dropped his hand down, "Come on, I made you something too," He locked his fingers with mine and attempted to pull me out of the room.

"Wait," I stopped him, "Ahsoka wanted to show me her-"

"I can show you them later," She interrupted me, and I turned to see a smile on her face, yet her eyes were locked on our joint hands.

"See? She can show you them later." Anakin pulled on my hand and I allowed him to lead me down the steps, "So what were you two talking about?" He asked once we reached the bottom of the stairs and we turned towards a white door that he pushed open. It swung like a revolving door.

"Nothing really. She was showing me her room and a pencil portrait of your mother." I informed him, and he nodded without saying anything as he brought me to the dining table and removed his hand from mine. The feeling of cold air replaced his warmth, "She was beautiful." I added, causing him to smile when he pulled a chair out for me.

"Of course she was, have you seen me?" He asked with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes, "Please all the good genes went to your sister." I teased while accepting the chair he held out for me, "And thank you."

He chuckled, "So I take it you like her?"

I nodded with a soft smile, "She seems sweet."

"She has her moments and tantrums, but overall she's a good kid." He walked away into the kitchen that I could still see from where I was sitting.

He soon walked back in with a plate in one hand and a cup of water in the other - he gently placed them in front of me, "Thank you," I smiled, then furrowed my brows when I realized he didn't have anything for himself, "Are you not going to eat?"

He sat down next to me and rested his elbow on the table while laying his head in his hand, "I already did, your croissant was great by the way." He smirked, and I was confused for a moment until I remembered the food I brought us from the bakery.

I shook my head with a light chuckle, "I know, that's why I always get it." I picked up the sandwich he made for me, and took a bite before pausing, "Did you put Mayo in this?" I asked while covering my mouth.

He nodded with furrowed brows, "Yes why?"

I widened my eyes, "Anakin, I'm allergic."

He immediately sat up in a panic, "Fuck-"

"Kidding," I cut him off with a devious smile as I went back to chewing, "But that's what you get for scaring me."

His body relaxed from its panicked state and he held an irritated scowl, "You nearly gave me a heart attack - I thought I was about to be responsible for your murder."

I shrugged as I swallowed, "Well don't mess with me unless you plan to endure payback."

His scowl slowly dropped, "I'll keep that in mind."

I took another bite of the food before taking a drink of my water, "So I'm curious," I set the cup down with a small hiccup that made his smile grow, "Why does Ahsoka call your brother Dad?"

"We tell her not to, but ever since he went to her school for Father's day - that's what she calls him." He shrugged, "She'll call him by his name sometimes, but if she talks about him to other people - like you, she calls him dad. I personally feel like it's her way of trying have some kind of normalcy, since most of the kids at her school have both parents, and well - she has none. I think she feels different, or left out in a way."

I nodded, understanding Ahsoka's feelings - sort of. My dad didn't just show up for Father's Day, he also showed up on Mother's Day. A lot of the other kids looked at us funny and some even teased me later on, but I still love him for it because at least I wasn't alone. He always did his best to fill that void. And I think he did a pretty great job - I may not have had a mother, but I always knew I was loved unconditionally.

"Well, if it makes you feel any better. I think you both are doing great, she's loved and that is what's going to matter when she gets older. She'll remember all that you two did for her." I reached over and placed my hand on top of his. His eyes slowly followed my movements and he swallowed thickly when our skin touched.

His eyes flickered up to meet mine, "Thanks." He mumbled, before clearing his throat and pulling his hand away from me, "So, um," He adjusted his position in the chair, making the wood creak, "What else did you two talk about?"

Ignoring his sudden off behavior—brushing it off as nerves—I proceeded to eat a little more before answering his question, "She was also telling me about how you went on vacation." I mentioned this specifically to see his reaction.

He immediately broke eye contact with me and looked down to my plate that was now empty, "I'll take that for you." He stood up from his chair and grabbed the plate, before walking away from me - clearly trying to ignore the topic.

But I was relentless.

I stood up and followed behind him, "So where were you?" I asked as he placed the plate in the sink and turned on the water to wash it.

"It's doesn't matter," He uttered with a sigh, his back to me as he scrubbed the dish.

I got closer to him, and I saw him pause mid-scrub when he realized our close proximity, "Obviously, you don't have to tell me, but just know that you can. We're friends, and you can trust me not to judge you for anything. We're all human, and none of us are perfect."

He turned his head slightly and side-eyed me, but he remained silent. Until finally he set the plate down in the sink and turned off the water. He spun his body around and got closer to me - while I lifted my neck to keep our eye contact, "If you must know, I was in jail for eighteen months."

"Oh," I took a small step back in surprise.

He noticed my moments and reached out for me, grabbing my wrist and pulling me closer, "Please don't look at me differently (y/n), I just-" He sighed, "I made a stupid mistake." He looked down to the floor in shame.

"What happened?" I asked without any judgement - only genuine curiosity. Despite this new information coming to light, I knew in my heart he wasn't a bad person, "You can tell me." I assured him.

He cupped my cheek with one hand, "I'll tell you one day, I promise." He used his thumb to gently caress my cheek-bone, making my heart involuntarily skip a beat.

As much as I wanted to know, I also wanted to respect his decision, "Well I'm here if you ever wanna talk about it." I gave him a warm smile so he knew that I wasn't going to look at him any differently. I'm not a person who judges too harshly, I understand that we're all human and we all make mistakes. I don't believe that one wrong decision defines a person.

It's only if they make the same mistake twice, then it's no longer a mistake - it's deliberate.

And now that I know this, what Obi-Wan told me earlier makes sense now. Whatever Anakin did is obviously the 'not smart choice' that he mentioned.

Anakin was silent for a moment as his eyes traveled across my features with a look of wonder, "You know, that ex of yours really is an idiot." He whispered as he brushed a few strands of my hair away from my face.

I nodded in agreement as I got lost in his crystal eyes, "Understatement."

This man was starting to have an affect on me, an affect I've been trying so hard to suppress. Am I a bad person for feeling these emotions so close after a break-up? Are they real feelings, or am I just desperately trying to forget Clovis?

Anakin slowly began to lower his head down, and I froze in place when I realized what he was about to do. He closed his eyes, and I got lost in the moment and closed mine too.

"Are you two about to kiss?"

Both of us jumped apart quickly at the sound of a small voice, "What the hel-heck Ahsoka?" Anakin groaned, glaring down at the smiling girl who was standing barely two feet away from us, "Make some noise when you enter a room."

"I did, you were too busy to notice." She smirked, her eyes shifting between us with a knowing look.

Anakin and I glanced up to each other, both of us holding awkward glares, before he cleared his throat, "What did you need?" He asked her - looking away from me.

She held up her finished plate to him, "To put this in the sink."

He grabbed it from her, "I got it." He turned away and went to the sink with a sigh, obviously annoyed that the moment got interrupted.

I couldn't figure out if I was annoyed too, or grateful. Kissing him was tempting but it's not something I should do, at least not right now, right?  I keep telling myself I'm not ready, it's too early. But Anakin had a point, Clovis moved on while in the relationship, how can it be bad for moving on shortly after? Especially when we get along so well, better than Clovis and I ever had.

"Do you want to come see my stuff now?" She asked as she held her hand out to me.

I side-eyed Anakin who had his back turned, "Sure," I held her small hand, "Let's go."
