(y/n)'s POV
"And you said giving her sugar was a bad idea," I chuckled as I grabbed the quilt that rested over the top of the couch, and gently covered Ahsoka to keep her warm.
She was in fact bouncing off of the walls mere minutes ago, just as Anakin said she would if I was to give her more french toast and syrup. But just as I suspected, she tired herself out in the process. So now she's passed out on said couch, drooling, with one arm hanging over the edge.
He smiled as he stroked her cheek light enough to not disturb her slumber, "It was a bad idea though, she bit Piett," He shook his head with an amused sigh.
"He's fine, it didn't look like it hurt that bad." I shrugged as I peaked my head around the corner towards the kitchen where Piett and Josie currently were, "Besides, he shouldn't have purposely messed her up when she was doing my toes." I raised my brows. If anything, he did it to himself.
Anakin nodded in agreement as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and walked me towards the kitchen, "I did warn him." He chuckled.
We stepped into the kitchen to see Piett holding his bitten arm out towards Josie as she placed a bandage over it. I held in a laugh, he's so dramatic, it wasn't that bad.
"You're so dramatic." Anakin spoke my exact thoughts with a laugh, prompting my gaze to shift to him with a smile. I've noticed we've done that quite often today; we'll speak at the same time and say the same thing, or we'll have the same thought and it's only a matter of who speaks it first.
Piett shot his glare towards us, "That little ankle biter broke through skin."
"Barely," Josie snorted as she finished applying the band-aid and playfully smacked it, causing him to wince and scowl at her. But her innocent smile, melted his annoyance, and he almost immediately smiled back.
"Even if she did," Anakin chimed in, "I've seen you go through much worse." He rolled his eyes at his friend - causing my curiosity to heighten.
Now Josie's attention was on Anakin instead of Pietts baby scratch, "Like what?" She raised a brow.
Anakin's eyes slightly widened after realizing the mistake his big mouth made, Piett was now scowling at him, "I forgot." He shrugged nonchalantly, trying to save himself before clearing his throat.
Annoyed with the lack of information that her curious mind was begging for, Josie sighed, "I'll just ask my brother then." She sung, spinning on her heels to put the small medical kit away inside of the cupboard.
"Go ahead," Piett challenged her with a devious smirk, "I'll let him know just how much of a little angel his baby sister really is." He muttered sarcastically, most likely referring to whatever the hell they did at the science center. I do know they didn't sleep together, that she would've told me, but it's obvious they did something. She may be virtuous, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's a saint.
She spun back around with narrowed eyes, "He'll kill you."
Piett shrugged causally before leaning back in the chair and bringing his arms behind his head, "True, but I'll be taking you with me dolly." He winked.
Anakin and I watched their interaction with amused expressions. Although I was enjoying it more than him, it appears Josie has finally met her match, and it was interesting to see.
She folded her arms over her chest as she bit the inside of her cheek in annoyance, "Fine, you win." She mumbled and attempted to walk past him, clearly irritated. But he quickly grabbed her arm, and pulled her down so she was sitting on his knee. She allowed him to hold her, but her lips were formed in a childish pout.
He smiled at her; adoration glimmering in his eyes, "I just love messing with you, but I'll tell you anything you're curious about." He stroked her cheek with his index finger, causing her pout to slowly form into a smile.
"What was Anakin referring to?" She questioned curiously.
"Either the time we hopped a fence running away from a couple of pig—I mean cops," He corrected himself with an awkward clearing of his throat as he most likely remembered that my father was in fact a cop, "And I broke my leg in three different places, or the time I was stabbed next to my collar bone."
Both mine and Josie's eyes were wide. Anakin remained looking unfazed and Piett seemed almost - proud?
"Who the hell stabbed you?" I asked the question I knew was lingering on the tip of Josie's tongue.
"I did," Anakin spoke and all eyes darted to him. He shrugged like he did nothing wrong, "It was a dare." He responded innocently.
"Boys are insane," Josie shook her head.
I nodded in agreement, before Anakin spoke again, "I was referring to the cop one though." His face shifted into a grimace, "I saw bone, and then I had to pick him up and carry him for over a mile." He sighed with a light head shake at the rebellious memory, "That was a fun day though." He then smiled.
Piett held his hand up for a high five and Anakin removed his arm from around me to accept it, "And we never even got caught." Piett chucked proudly.
"Why were you running?" I questioned.
"It wasn't anything bad," He assured me, "We were trespassing on some property not far from here. There's nothing even there so I don't get why it mattered, it's just an empty field covered in grass and dirt." He rolled his eyes before gesturing to Piett, "But this moron here was convinced there was something illegal there, like a meth lab or something." He mocked him in a deeper voice, "I only went to prove him wrong."
"And I was wrong," Piett sighed as he wrapped his arms around Josie to hug her at the hips, "I'm pretty sure the city owns it and they're planning to build something there."
"Is it the field that's on the cross-roads of Fairview and Bermuda?" I questioned and they both nodded, "The city does own it," I informed them, "They're constructing the first indoor mall." My dad told me this not too long ago, he was excited about it. He promised to take me on a little shopping spree when it opens up - a father-daughter day, he called it. But that probably won't be for another two years or so—they haven't even started building it yet.
(Fact; In America: The first outdoor Mall was made in 1922 Kansas City. The first indoor Mall was built in 1956 Edina, Minnesota.)
"Oh yeah," Josie exclaimed with realization as she pointed to me, "You told me about that—" She was cut off by the sound of my doorbell ringing.
Assuming it was just the mail; I excused myself from the conversation while the three stayed in the kitchen to discuss the exciting construction of the first ever indoor mall.
I went to open the front door and paused briefly when I saw today's mail sitting on the small table next to the door. My dad must have got it at some point before he left, but then...who rang the bell if not the mailman? I know I wasn't expecting anyone.
I slowly pulled the door open, and peaked my head out cautiously, I'm a cops daughter after-all and I was always taught to be cautious. But when I finally got a look outside, no one was there. The only thing out of the ordinary was a single Lily flower laying on its side on my porch deck.
I pulled the door open more with furrowed brows and bent down to pick it up. I glanced around my street and the yard to see if who left it was still around, but it was quiet with only the sound of the birds chirping freely.
"Is everything okay?"
I screamed in surprise as I jumped to my feet and spun around, "Don't do that." I scolded Anakin for scaring me; even though I doubt he meant to, but my heart was currently pounding hard enough to crack my rib cage.
"Talk?" He teased me with a chuckle, "I didn't mean to scare you, but you were—" He halted his voice as his eyes traveled to the flower in my hand, "Where did that come from?" He questioned in a serious tone as his gaze traveled to my outside yard, probably looking to see if there were lilies in my garden that the wind could've blown over. But there were none, I had no idea where this came from. Well, actually I did have a guess.
I sighed, "It could've been Clovis." I stepped inside and tossed the flower onto the table next to the mail with an eye roll, "He probably came to apologize, but heard your voice or saw the car and decided to leave." I guessed.
Anakin looked uneasy as he bit the inside of his cheek, "Yeah, maybe," He mumbled as he folded his arms over his chest.
"Come," I grabbed his arm to pull him out of his pout, "I don't think I've ever showed you my bedroom."
I watched as his unsettled expression quickly fade away and he raised brows with a mischievous glint in his eyes, "No I don't think you have."
I chuckled as I pulled him up the stairs, "Don't get any perverse ideas blondie, there's actually something I want to show you, a few things actually."
I heard him hum curiously from behind me, "Do they happen to start with a 'B' and there's a double 'O' in there somewhere?"
I chuckled with a nod as I turned around, "Actually, yes." I winked.
"Then lead the way gorgeous."

"So these are all my books." I gestured to the pile in-front of me.
He once told me that how much he loved to read, and well, so do I. So I've just been anxiously waiting for the opportunity to share this with him.
"This is not at all what I had in mind." He rolled his eyes playfully with a chuckle as he sat on my bed with me sitting cross legged in front of him. I smirked, knowing exactly what I made it seem like, "But this is just as nice, sort of." He reached forward and picked out one of the books and his smile widened with excitement, "Oh my god, I've been looking for this one, but it's sold out everywhere."
I eyed the book he picked out and shook my head, "You can borrow it if you'd like, but trust me, it's only going to devastate you." I sighed, I'm still not over it, and I read it over a month ago.
His eyes grew nervous, "Really? The first two were so wholesome though, except for his mother dying obviously," He groaned as he turned the book around to read the back cover, "Can you tell me how it ends so I'm mentally prepared?" He asked in a tone filled with hope.
I nodded; smiling. I do the same thing with literally every book. I usually read the last page to see if it's a happy ending, and if it's not—in the garbage it goes. Except for this one, this trilogy sunk its teeth into me, and I became obsessed. So I had to finish it despite knowing the heartbreaking outcome, "Hayden turns to the dark side, and Natalie dies while giving birth." I revealed, prompting his eyes to widen.
"Fuck, I don't know if I want to read it now."
I chuckled as I gestured to it, "You should, it's still really good."
He shrugged with a sigh, "Alright, but don't be alarmed if I call you at two in the morning, crying and blaming you for my broken heart." He set the book down on my nightstand before going through the rest of my outrageous collection.
We continued going through them and talking about the different series I had, as well as having a short side conversation about how I don't have a book shelf. I usually stack them under my bed which he claimed as inconvenient.
And well, I'm not sure how we got here, but my books were now sprawled onto the floor and I was currently straddling Anakin with our lips passionately moving together. My arms wrapped around his neck and he had his back against my headboard; his hands tightly gripped my hips, "We should talk about books more often," He joked in-between kisses.
I chuckled against his lips as I raised my hands and ran them through his soft hair, "Definitely."
After a few more minutes of bliss, he pulled away. He was breathing heavily as he cupped my cheek with a smile, "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?"
I shrugged, "Maybe once or twice." I teased. I'm pretty sure he's said it a hundred times, but I can definitely live with hearing it a hundred more.
His smile grew, "Well, you're beautiful (y/n)," He leaned forward and kissed me softly once more. His gentle actions made my heart race even quicker, while my body felt as if it was floating on air.
He moved away again and I groaned in annoyance, "Stop stopping," I complained as I tightened my hold around him.
He chuckled, "I wanted to ask you something," He brought his hand up and trailed my lips softly, and I curiously waited for him to continue, "There's a festival soon, I was wondering if you would like to go with me?" He asked with a hopeful smile.
I immediately nodded, knowing exactly what festival he was talking about. I try going every year, but Clovis either always canceled on me and I'd be too sad to go, or I had work. But this time, neither were stopping me, "I would love to go." I beamed.
"I was hoping you would say yes," He went back to kissing me, and just as it began to heat up again, we were stopped by a loud shriek.
His next actions were something that you'd think I'd be upset about, but I wasn't because I knew exactly why he did it, and I understood.
Anakin immediately shoved me off of him, and bolted out of my door at the sound of Ahsoka's cries. It wasn't a cry of sadness either or a typical child's cry—but it was a cry filled with fear.
I got up from the awkward position I landed in and quickly followed him to make sure she was okay. As soon as I got downstairs, I saw Josie holding the little girl in her arms as Anakin was peering out of the window. "What happened?" I fully stepped into the living room, and Ahsoka moved away from Josie and came to me instead.
She looked up at me with her glassy eyes while she held onto my leg, "There was someone at the window." Her lip quivered.
"What?" I exclaimed as I furrowed my brows and glanced back up to the window that the couch was facing.
"I came as soon as I heard it. But I couldn't see anyone," Piett sighed as he folded his arms and leaned in the doorway that led to the kitchen, "You sure it wasn't a nightmare little one?" He asked her softly.
"I don't know." She mumbled quietly.
Anakin was suddenly next to me and he placed his hands under her arms, picking her up with ease, "You okay?" He asked her dotingly as he stroked her back and she laid her head on his shoulder. She nodded without giving him a verbal response, "It was probably just a dream again," He informed her, and judging by the way he said 'again' this must something that has happened before, "But I can take you home if you want." He offered her, and I smiled; adoring how sweet he is with her.
She lifted her head to look at him with teary eyes and nodded, "I want to go."
His gaze shifted to me, his eyes holding and apology, "I'm sorry, but I-"
I held my hand up to stop his unnecessary apology, "I understand, call me when you get home?"
He nodded as he slowly smiled while he bounced Ahsoka in his arms in a comforting way as she laid her head back down, "Of course I will."
