(y/n)'s POV
"So, you're having boys over?" My father spoke from the other side of the island with a mug filled with coffee in his hand. He recently returned from his graveyard shift and has yet to sleep, which isn't un-normal since tonight was his night off and he likes to go fishing with his buddies when he doesn't work - hence the strong coffee tightly in his grasp. He'll just sleep the whole next day to catch up on his rest.

Josie and I nodded, "Yes, for a girls day." My best friend smiled innocently.

"But boys will be here," My dad placed the mug onto the island with a amused look in his eyes, "That doesn't sound much like a girls day to me."

I rolled my eyes as I took a bite of my french toast that he made for Josie and I, "It's nothing for you to worry about dad, one of them is even bringing his little sister with him." I smiled, feeling excited to see Ahsoka again. Not only is she incredibly cute, but she never fails to entertain me, especially when she gets on Anakin's nerves.

"Oh, I'm not worried. I trust you to behave well," He took a long gulp of his coffee and sighed with satisfaction when he dropped his empty mug down onto the marble top, "Would I know these boys? Are they from school?" He asked curiously.

I shook my head, keeping my gaze on my plate of food, "They're not from our school, but you might know them," I shrugged, they are delinquents after all.

I wasn't afraid to tell my father about that part, he's not hard headed nor does he judge people based off of mistakes, especially ones you make as a kid, or teenager. He's actually the cop that a lot of youth go to for help because he's more understanding. He doesn't tell people this, but he himself had a bit of a wild youth - I'm actually the result of one of his wild escapades. But it was my birth that made him calm down, and start thinking about his future so he could be a present father.

"Their names are Firmus Piett and Anakin Skywalker." Josie informed him as she continued eating her food and occasionally drinking her orange juice.

"What?" He instantly responded causing my head to snap up to meet his gaze.

"Do you know them?" I questioned with furrowed brows when I saw the surprised look in his eyes.

He didn't say anything for a few moments before clearing his throat and shaking his head in dismissal, "No I don't think so," He spun around to place his empty mug in the sink, "Which one are you seeing butterfly?"

I cringed at the name he insisted on calling me since I was eight when I accidentally swallowed a butterfly in the backyard. He says it lives within me, making me just as beautiful on the inside as I am on the outside. It's sweet, but total bull.

"Anakin," I responded casually, "He's a sweet guy, and incredibly smart. I think you'll like him."

He nodded without turning around, "I'm sure I will - just as long as he doesn't break my baby-girls heart like the last one," He sighed heavily, "But I should get going." He faced us with a small smile, "Don is picking me up since I'm too tired to drive, and I'm pretty sure I just heard him pull up," He walked near the doorway that leads from the kitchen into the living room, grabbing a coat to protect him from the lake winds, "I'll be back later tonight."

"Okay, bye dad."

"Bye Mr. (y/l/n)."

My father went for the door, before pausing briefly with his hand on the knob, "Oh and the box you left on the porch is on the dining room table."

I spun around in the seat since the front door was parallel to where I was sitting in the kitchen, with only the stairs to my right, his left, blocking a very small part of my view. I furrowed my brows in confusion by what he was talking about, but then the memories of last night flooded my mind, "It's just junk I plan to toss." I rolled my eyes.

He half-smiled knowingly, "Yeah I figured." He turned the doorknob and pulled open the door to leave, but froze in place when the person standing at the door - wasn't Don.

Anakin was standing with his fist raised preparing to knock, and he had Ahsoka holding his other hand with Piett standing about a foot behind him.

Anakin's eyes noticibly widened when he met the gaze of my father and dropped his hand down slowly. He glanced down to Ahsoka briefly before looking back up, "Um-"

"You must be the source of my daughters smile lately, it's good to meet you," My dad held his hand out to him and Anakin's brows immediately knitted into confusion as he accepted my dads gesture.

"Yeah, good to meet you too," He spoke slowly and with uncertainty - making me suspicious. There's definitely something I don't know, a blind person could sense the awkward change in the air.

My father introduced himself to Piett as well who was also holding a look of confusion, until his attention dropped down to Ahsoka, "And who might you be?" He bent down to her level.

Ahsoka shyly hid behind Anakin's leg, only poking her head out for a small visual, "This is my little sister Ahsoka, she's a bit on the shy side when it comes to strangers." Anakin reached behind him and placed a calming hand on her head. Then he gently stroked her hair to ease her nervous anxiety, "This is (y/n)'s dad, he's nice."

She peered at him before looking back up at Anakin, "I'm hungry." She spoke in a quiet tone.

"You can come here 'Soka, I have French toast if you want some." I addressed the little girls who's eyes immediately darted to mine when she heard my voice, and they visibly lit up.

Before Anakin could give her permission, she bolted away from all of them and rushed towards me, "Not too much syrup, I don't want her bouncing off of the walls." Anakin shouted as I picked her up from under her arms and set her in my spot next to Josie.

"Have all the syrup you want," I whispered into her ear and she giggled as she began pouring the syrup that had now completely coated her breakfast.

I walked towards my father to listen in and make sure he didn't give Anakin or Piett a difficult time, as most dads will do when their protective nature kicks in, "So, you boys staying out of trouble?" He asked while folding his arms over his chest.

They both nodded, and Anakin glanced toward me momentarily before looking back to my father, "Yes sir." He nodded.

"We both have jobs at Rex's mechanics now and Anakin here is doing a special engineering project for the towns science center." Piett chimed in, speaking quickly out of nervousness. Clearly doing his best to make Anakin look as good and civil as possible.

My father nodded with a small smile, "I'm very happy to hear that, now I don't mind you being here. But this," He placed his hand on my shoulder as his gaze landed straight on Anakin - as if he was specifically talking to him, "Is my greatest treasure. As long as you give me your word that you're not participating in anything reckless or illegal, and her being around you is safe - my blessing is given."

Anakin almost looked surprised as he nodded, "You have my word."

Just as Anakin finished speaking, a familiar truck rolled up front and honked loudly to gain my dad's attention, "Well my ride is here, you all have a fun day. I love you butterfly." My dad pressed a kiss to my temple.

"I love you too," I shyly responded as Anakin raised his brow at me after hearing the nickname. My dad then moved passed them with a head nod, before leaving towards the truck. After I watched him get in and wave as they drove away, I turned my attention to Anakin and Piett - crossing my arms, "Spill it."

"Spill what?" Anakin responded in a confused tone.

I narrowed my eyes, "I'm not blind, nor am I dumb. It's obvious that you know my father, so just be honest with me."

Piett stepped in to speak before Anakin could, "As you saw, we just met him." He smiled innocently, apparently thinking that I am dumb or blind.

I opened my mouth to argue with him, but Anakin held his hand up to stop me. Then he sighed as he dropped it down while looking at Piett, "Can you go keep Ahsoka and Josie company, and make sure the little runt doesn't try eavesdropping?" He asked while grabbing my hand, and pulling me out into the porch.

Piett listened and went inside, immediately hugging Josie from behind as he stole a piece of Ahsoka's toast. The big girl giggled, as the little one scowled, "This is why I don't like you." Ahsoka groaned as she pulled her plate more to her side.

Piett chuckled as he ruffled her hair, "Shush, you love me kid."

My view was suddenly blocked as Anakin closed the door, "Before I tell you anything, I would like to say that you look beautiful; butterfly." He teased with a smile as he cupped my cheeks and gently brought his lips to mine before I could say anything.

They tingled as they made contact and I felt it as my heart froze for those bliss-filled moments. Not even our previous conversation was on my mind as his lips moved slowly with mine, completely taking my breath away, and making my knees weaken.

Then after a few more seconds, much to my dismay, he ended the kiss, but softly caressed my cheek as he backed away, "Now that we got our greeting out of the way, there's something that I should share with you," He dropped his hands down and I nodded for him to continue, doing my best to keep my dazed eyes on his eyes and not his wet lips, "I don't know why he pretended to not know me," He furrowed his brows, and also took a deep breath before speaking his next words, "But your dad is the one who arrested me that night, and the same one who was trying to get my sentenced reduced for me." He informed me nervously, and although that was sort of my guess based off of the interaction I just witnessed, it still felt surprising to hear. I was also l confused on why my dad pretended to not know him, I made a mental note to myself to ask him when he came tonight, "And I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you earlier, but I was afraid that you would think that that was the only reason I started talking to you. When I actually didn't even know you were his daughter until I took you to see the stars and you told me your last name."

I stood there quiet for a moment, unsure of how to respond. I believed him, but I was still a little shocked at how connected we really are. Whoever said 'it's a small word' really knew what they were talking about. It's just insane to think that it was my own father who was there for Anakin that night, but I'm also glad that it was since I now know how gentle and kind he was treated when he was probably terrified.

See this, I'm an understanding person, something I guess Clovis seemed to have forgotten. I try to look for the best in everything and everyone, not the worst.

"Um," I finally spoke after a few silent seconds, and I slowly reached for his hands to hold them in mine, "I'm sorry I'm just kind of surprised, but thank you for being honest with me," Honesty is pretty big in my book right now, I expect nothing less, "And I want you to know that this changes nothing. I do still like you, and I'm guessing by my dads reaction, he sort of likes you too." I shrugged, "I mean he did give you his blessing to be here after all." Which was strange since he didn't even give Clovis his blessing for at least a few weeks. But my father was always a strange man, you never know what's going through his mind.

Anakin chuckled with a nod, "Yeah well he was really nice to me compared to the other officers. He even stopped and got me something to eat and some water to help me sober up," He breathed out a heavy sigh as he relived the memory, "So although you being his daughter didn't affect my decision to talk to you, it definitely became a bonus because I knew that you had to have had a good heart to be raised by him." He flirted as he gently pulled on my hands to bring me closer.

I smiled, getting lost in those gorgeous crystal eyes that have made me a fool for him, "And do you believe that you were correct?" I inched onto my toes, "That I have a good heart."

He nodded slowly as he leaned down and brought his lips close to mine, "You accept me for what I've done and look past it to see who I really am. Only someone with a beautiful heart is capable of that."

"This is dangerous," I whispered as our lips grazed and I could feel my body craving him, "We should limit our—" I swallowed thickly, "Physical interactions."

He nodded in agreement his eyes stuck to my lips, "Yeah we should, but maybe after just one more." He slowly lowered down and kissed me. This one had more urgency as one of his hands raised upwards and lightly wrapped around my neck, his cold touch making me shiver. His tongue began to request entry as he gently licked my lips, and I gave in to him - drowning in this new feeling of euphoria.

Once again, kissing him was unlike anything I have ever experienced. It's hard to explain, but it almost felt - powerful. And as we hold each other and connect, it's as if we are exactly where we are meant to be.

"Hold on," I stopped him, even though it was difficult, and caught my breath as something crossed my mind. He immediately paused and eyed me with curiosity. But he also held an almost drunken look in his eyes, and I'm positive that he feels exactly what I feel when we kiss - since I too felt a sort of high, "You were honest with me," I breathed, "So I should be honest with you about something too."

"What is it?" He asked, furrowing his brows.

"Clovis came to my house last night." I revealed feeling slightly nervous.

His expression dropped into one of pure irritation as he loosened his hold on my neck. My warm skin was already missing his cold touch, "What happened? He didn't kiss you did he?"

I shook my head quickly, "No, but he did kind of - sort of - push me against the house and showed me your records after I told him I didn't want to see them."

He exhaled heavily as he looked away from me, his tongue pushing against his cheek as he stood there in thought. Then to my surprise, he spun around and walked down the steps, "Watch Ahsoka."

"What?" I rushed forward and placed my hand on the wooden pilar as I watched him walk towards Pietts car, "Where are you going?"

"To kill Clovis." He responded simply, making my eyes widen.

Oh god, I'm dating Josie.

"Anakin, no." I scolded him as if he was a pet as I ran after him and immediately got in his way so he didn't get inside the car, "I'm not letting you hunt down my ex, it was just your records and I don't even care about what was on them. You also looked super cute in your mug shot by the way." I shrugged to lighten up the mood that went south real quick.

I could see that my comment made him want to smile, but he didn't, "It's not about the records (y/n), he put his hands on you." He reached behind me to open the door, and I scooted over to block his access - causing him to scowl.

"It's fine, I wasn't in any pain," I assured him, although I'm not really sure if that makes it any better or not, "He just had too much to drink and he was trying to get back with me."

"He was?" He asked in surprise, "But I thought he was with Celeste?"

"He is, but he said he still loves me," I shrugged, "Look I'll tell you everything that happened if you just come back to the house with me, and not go back to prison."

He glanced to the floor as he bit the inside of his cheek, "You're not— debating on getting back with him or anything are you?" He asked quietly, in an almost sad tone.

Is he—insecure?

"No," I responded softly as I cupped his cheeks to raise his gaze back towards me, "I already know what being with him will be like and it's not what I want. I want to see where this goes instead," I lowered my hands that were on his cheeks and wrapped them around his neck, "I chose you. Which is kind of when he started getting mad and bringing out the records."

His somber expression faltered, replaced by a smile, "Wait, you chose me?" He questioned and I nodded with a chuckle. He slowly brought his hands to my waist, "I always thought that if he'd ask for you back that you'd pick him."

"So did I," I answered honestly, "But you are truly something special Skywalker—one of a kind."

His smile widen as he stepped forward and pressed my back against the car, "I know." He shrugged. So this is the key to calming him down, stroke his ego.

I rolled my eyes, "You cocky ass-" He cut me off with another kiss to my lips, and I giggled into it as I tightened my hold around his neck. My heart pounded excitedly as he held me tight, making me feel adored and safe. Then after a few moments, he released his hold on me, "Can we please go inside now?" I asked, tugging onto his arm.

He nodded, his wide smile remaining beautifully on his lips, "Of course, I promised Ahsoka I'd paint her nails for her." He rolled his eyes playfully.

"You're going to get it everywhere,"
I teased as we began to walk to the house, but as Anakin was talking - my attention was drawn to something else.

I noticed in a car parked a few feet behind Pietts, that someone lowered their head down near the back seat the second I looked over. Everything Anakin was saying was completely going over my head as I narrowed my eyes at the car, wondering if the sunlight was playing tricks on me.

Then after a few seconds of nothing showing up, I chalked it up to just that, a trick of the light.

Yayy another update for this one, I just adore writing for this story and the serotonin it gives me is EVERYTHING ♥️
Also, I understand that when they kiss I may make it sound dramatic, buttt the kissing of twin-flames is always supposed to be this amazing jaw-dropping spiritual connection between the two no matter how many times it happens. So I'm really just trying to stick with that aspect since it is the title of the story.
So I'm sorry if it's cringe to some haha.
Anyways hope you enjoyed it!♥️
