Chapter Nine

It didn't take long for things to start feeling suspicious for the Pegasus.
Both eyes were glued on the mysterious stallion as he lead them to his house. The strangest thing was...he was taking them back the way they went. He kept saying "we'll be there soon" "we're almost there" "sorry this is taking so long".

Stormy tried to shake off her suspicions, tearing her eyes away from him and onto Tsuki. The unicorn in front of her followed the stallion, eager to be wherever he was taking them. Stormy sighed nervously. Tsuki was smart and observant, paranoid sometimes, but sometimes she was too trusting. Like she was now. She-they barely even know the stallion, and they're both following him.

Stormy had tried on many different occasions to change Tsuki's mind, but no matter what, Tsuki wouldn't give in. The unicorn was usually right about a lot of things, even when Stormy Clouds was absolutely certain, so the Pegasus decided to ignore her bad vibes after about ten minutes of walking.

"So where do you live anyways?" Stormy asked, tilting her head to see the shy stallion better. Rey glanced back at her quickly, with (most defiantly not his natural shy look) an odd glance.

"Near Apple Acres." He stated simply. Well that checked out, they were certainly heading towards Apple acres. Stormy found herself looking around at the town. Some buildings were burned down, and the sky was dark grey, a few corpses lined the streets and occasionally, the group would get a whiff of one of them. She looked away when she spotted an old mare dead on the ground, her body heavily mutilated, her organs spilling out, creating a gorey scene.

Stormy looked up to make sure Tsuki hadn't noticed. Tsuki was looking in the other direction, tearing up. She must have saw. Stormy trot to catch up and put her wing around the unicorn to comfort her. Tsuki forced a smile and walked closer to the Pegasus, loving the warm feeling of her feathers blocking the slight wind that had picked up.

They continued walking for a few minutes when Rey stopped.

"Are we here?" Tsuki asked, hopefully. The stallion turned to face them, grinned, then whistled loudly.

Suddenly, a familiar group of ponies rushed out of the bushes. All immediately went for Stormy and Tsuki. Neither of them had a chance to blink before they were both being held by stallions and mares with masks and blood stained fur. Tiger stepped out of a bush, her mask covering her face, but you could make out the unmistakable psychotic grin hiding behind it.

"Wh-what?!" Tsuki exclaimed, breathlessly. Her heart caught in her throat as she stared at the stallion with a hopeless look.

"Wow." Rey chuckled, trotting up to Tsuki, "You really are too trusting. I thought you were supposed to be the smart one." He then turned to Stormy and frowned at her, but that frown turned into a grin.

He turned around and whispered something to Tiger, who smirked in return.

"We're taking Stormy. Leave Tsuki." Tiger said. The two captives' eyes' both widened and they looked at each other. Tiger pulled out a syringe and went towards Stormy with it. The liquid was black and translucent.

"Wait! Wait! Please don't take her! P-please!" The unicorn began choking up, her horn glowing. Tiger jabbed the needle in Stormy's neck and the Pegasus let out a cry that faded as her eyes closed and her head fell forward. Tsuki began kicking, and her horn created a burst of energy, immediately teleporting her in front of Stormy, and sending everyone flying away.

She panted, her heart racing as she glanced down at the unconscious Stormy who lay on the ground behind her. She didn't plan on letting them take her easily. Tsuki's horn flashed brightly and a white forcefield appeared around them. A unicorn from Tiger's group chuckled and approached her, giving her a fake empathetic look.

"Beginner shield? Really?" She giggled and the group laughed. Suddenly her horn shot a red beam which slammed into the shield, causing it to shatter and fall, and sending Tsuki flying back. She hit her head harshly on the concrete as she landed. Her vision began to blur and the last thing she saw was Stormy being taken away, and the group leaving her to die.
