24 HOURS EARLIER

It was the first day at my new school. So far it was a typical day, I put on an "i'm so exited" face for my parents and hurried out the door. My new school was huge, everywhere I turn there are bright neon colors and a smiling face. Then 2 of those smiling faces turned toward me. Zoe and Madi, my besties from kindergarden! My parents thought it was a smart idea to send me off to boarding school when I was only 6 years old, there mistake. "Hey guys, I haven't seen you guys in like forever!"

"Yeah, where you been girl?" Zoe said enthusiastically.

"How are you?" Mad I said eager to give me a hug, which she was patiently waiting to give.

"I'm great, thanks!" I said feeling more excited about school. I turned around to look at the school from a different angle and that's when I saw it. I gasped in surprise.

"What is it O-mi-gosh!" Zoe said noticing the huge skull on the front of the building. The words under it said 'The end is coming!!!' Our mouths were wide open, and our eyes were huge with astonishment. Soon a crowd began to gather and eventually there was a mob scene. People were trying to whisper but ended up yelling instead. After a while someone who I assume was the principal came out and made us shut our mouths.

"It is probably just a prank, no need to be alarmed"! The woman said ushering us inside the building, for the bell was about to ring.

The rest of the day was fairly boring and as normal as it could get. I couldn't stop thinking about the 'prank' on the school wall and frankly, I really wish I hasn't seen the warning, if it even was a warning. One thing is for sure, it wasn't a prank. There has been whispers that the skull symbol has been seen around school, inside too! My investigative thoughts were interrupted when I saw Madi and Zoe coming this way waving a pan flit in the air. " Look! The school is having a lock in and it is the perfect opportunity for you to make more friends!" Madi said shoving the pan flit into my hands.

"I don't know... I was kinda planning on staying home tonight." I said setting the pan flit on the desk. Just then the bell rang and school was over. I started to walk back home and changed my mind. "Ok, I let me just get a bag ready and i'll meet you outside the school at 7:30." The nodded their heads vigorously and smiled. I turned and started the short walk home.
