Chapter 9
"Ah, what do we have here?" "More failures sir." "Good, good. Hello, young one. I'm sorry that you had to fail but now your new home is here. At the rainbow factory." Maple says soothingly to a Pegasus that failed the flight exam, "Step right up here." He motions to a pedestal with chains above it. The foal slowly obeys him. Once he's on the pedestal, five workers hook his limbs up to the chains. "Here we go!" Maple flicks a switch and the floor beneath the poor pony opens up to show the gears that would soon grind him to a pulp. The chains grow taught stretching his arms up and his legs down "Don't worry about falling. You're safe up there. Well, safe from falling." He flicks another switch and the chains swivel one set one way the other set the other. There's a loud crunching noise as his ribs break. "Now for the smaller parts." The chains start pulling the pony like a tug-of-war toy. The poor thing eventually snaps in half. He screams and screams slowly blacking out. "Aw. You have to leave so soon? Well, I might as well show you to the door." The chains let the remains go and into the gears. Blood and Spectra flies everywhere. "That was a good one." Maple says pleased as the Spectra empty into the vats.
